Very courteous front desk. Allowed late check out. Place is pretty out dated and could use new carpet and bedding. People above us were loud. But overall clean and not bad.

We stayed here for one night. The room was very clean, the water pressure was good, the water drained while taking a shower and the toilet flushed well. You would hope that these would be givens, but with my past experience I’ve learned they’re not. They have an indoor pool which the kids loved and there were a bunch of other families staying there as well. The room was outdated décor wise, but it did have a flat screen, fridge and microwave. My family does not smoke so we got a non smoking room; however, we could smell the smoke from the smoking rooms. Overall this was a good place for our family to spend the night while on our way home.

There are several missing reviews about this particular motel that were present not so long ago. There were complaints about the personnel and hard beds. Personally speaking, having just lodged there for 4 days, I was quite pleased at my overall stay, contrary to a few of the posted whiners. Front desk personnel, while not overly enthusiastic, were nonetheless courteous and professional. I was allowed to check in early without charge and though I could not stay after the 11AM check out time 4 days later, I was permitted to use the chain’s Internet service(my own WiFi was not working) and computer in the breakfast section of the lobby, also without charge. I was also offered coffee but I declined since I don’t drink such(I brought my own fast food and drink). The location breeds quietness & limited numbers of guests which was noticeable each day present. The Super 8 breakfast is quite good & though you don’t get upscale breakfast food like eggs, ham, bacon and sausages, the pastries & Belgian waffles do make up for it and fill you up. The free breakfast adds to the low cost per nite stay(under $ 48 if you book and pay ahead of time and don’t cancel). The pool is small, though quite temperate. The room itself was excellent with the lone issue a somewhat wobbly toilet seat. The awesome 7 option spray shower was well worth the indulgence and the fairly firm but very comfortable huge king-size bed was by far the best I ever experienced in roughly 20 years of periodic hotel/motel patronizing. I don’t know what beds the complainers slept on that felt like brick but room 214 was anything but. I had a good nite of sleep every nite, something I desperately needed, having weeks of sleepless nites prior to my visit, no thanks to unbearable pain in my right hand. The room overall was quite clean, though with a slightly outdated carpet. Lighting is plenteous as is the heat and A/C. I came here to get away from the hustle & bustle of the big city(had previously been at this same motel in the 90s) and was not disappointed. My only wish was that I had more $$ to stay a few extra days. I’ve only encountered one of two Super 8s throughout the years that I would never recommend. Though I am not fond of living in Illinois, the convenience of this location from the Interstate, this quiet small town community and the reasonably well maintained motel will bring me back again in the near future. 4 ½ stars. And don’t forget to dine at the fine Bonanza buffet, just a mile away.

I have relatives in Lincoln, however they don’t have room at their home for me to stay and they have pets, which bothers my allergies. When I visit, I am looking for a clean, safe place to sleep as cheap as possible. I’m only going to be in the room for the night. I spent 2 nights at Super 8 and found my room to be clean, plenty of fresh white towels, soap, a working TV. The room was spacious and the air conditioning worked fine. The hall carpet looks a little dated, and because some rooms are smoking, I think the hall smells a little like smoke. Didn’t really bother me walking to my room or in my room. The room was fairly spacious with the 2 beds. I used the ice machine to cool drinks for the road. Although the breakfast is somewhat skimpy — juice(watered down orange?), waffles, cereal, and Danish… for the price …20 or more bucks cheaper than some of the other places, it was fine. Another thing I like… the sink is separate from the shower/toilet. This allows 2 people to be getting ready at once… rather than bathroom with all items in one room. The desk staff did seem a little less than frindly, but I wasn’t there to talk to them anyway. I peaked at the pool — small but it looked OK for kids to splash around. The place is literally steps away from the Comfort Inn… so if you need to book other rooms and can’t get in here, you won’t be far away. If cost and cleanliness are your highest concerns, this place is great. I paid $ 56 on a weekend. I will be returning to this hotel whenever it is the cheapest. I did a tour of the others in the area; read my reviews.
