Rue 21

I’m writing this review purely for the customer service.
Last Saturday, I bought some cute stiletto heels to wear to an upcoming event. Thinking I’ll just break them in before the event, I wore them to work yesterday. Between walking from my car to the building, one heel bent!
Once I got to my office, I tried to «unbend» the heel to no avail. Looking for a return policy and knowing how finicky some places are with their shoe returns, I was completely convinced that I was out the money I paid since I no longer had the tags and my receipt was in the trash (serves me right, really… the one time I don’t keep a receipt).
After looking on Rue 21’s website, I couldn’t find an answer on their shoe return policy, so I contacted the company via their Facebook. I was assured I could exchange the shoes and was instructed to print out the correspondence and bring it along with me.
So after work, I went to the store armed with the note from the company and my shoes, half expecting some issue to come up since that’s normally my luck.
I was SO incredibly happy when the associate told me I could exchange without any hassles! I got a different pair of shoes, am crossing my fingers that the same problem doesn’t happen this weekend, and left without any need for a phone call to a manager or any other issues. It was perfectly painless.
EDIT: I had to change my review from 5 to 3 stars after yet another pair of shoes I bought broke and a bracelet I picked up snapped in half. While the customer service is amazing and will let you return things relatively pain-​free, I think I’ll be spending my money on places with merchandise that is a bit better of quality,

Okay, so I went to the store today and return fragrance ad OMG I was not happy. It all started last Saturday when I bought some cute clothes that were on sale and one of the employees had a sample of a fragrance. Don’t get me wrong it smell nice but then I told her I did NOT want the item ad she scanned it anyway. So I went back today t get a refund on it and they told me I couldn’t return it. I told them the story on what happen. They told me that if I were to return this item, I would owe them $ 33 more dollars. Now on their return policy it said ALL items except swim wear are refundable. They told me it wasn’t. I was so mad and I walked out of the store. Never again I will go to there.
For those of you who want to go to this store, I advice to be careful. Never shop at this location again. Cute clothes but don’t risk it.

A cute little store for inexpensive costume jewelry and clothing. They always have a very good clearance section if you are willing to spend the time going through the racks. My only complaint is the customer service at times, a lot of times it’s crowded and they have one register open. And, I sometimes feel like I’m playing where in the world is Carmen Sandiago, when trying to find someone to open a fitting room.
