I have eaten here for breakfast and lunch a couple times. The atmosphere is very country bar. The patrons can often be seen in camo, and clearly eat here on Sunday afternoons because they always have eaten there on Sunday afternoons. The food is mediocre, but it’s not pricey. The service has left a lot to be desired. Twice now my group has been mostly ignored. Fool me twice, shame on me. I won’t make it a third.

As a regular, Ive gotten to know some of the staff a bit and really think its a solid group of people keeping this place together. Good monthly deals, GREAT breakfast, bloody bar is extensive, and their other food options are done well. Try the waffle fries with seasoned sour cream. All in all, I will miss this place when I move out of the area.

Had the walleye sandwich and seasoned fries, it was very good. Also had a bloody Mary, that wasn’t anything special. Would return for food and a beer. A hint to the waitress who dropped off the drinks would be when you spill some of it on the table, bring a napkin and clean it up. The server that brought the food did clean it up. Give them a try.

We’ve come several times before and the burgers were good, but not last night. First time in awhile(ever?) I’ve had a burger and considered sending it back. On first bite, it had a strong old/expired, vaguely rancid grease taste, I thought, «Was I right about that?» Second bite confirmed. The rest of the family seemed OK with their meals, so I just powered thru(I’d rather eat bad food than waste it). My son’s lemonade had a green fleck(parsley?) floating in it. First table we sat at had sticky floor and chairs, so we moved. That caused some confusion about whose section we were sitting in, so the server seemed over-worked and slow to pick up the check. On the positive side, the kid’s lemonades were huge and our beers were ice cold. I think we’ll give this place a pass for awhile and watch for other’s reviews on it.

Originally I had only ever been here for drinks at night.(They occasionally have live bands which is pretty cool) A friend suggested we come in for brunch one morning to try the bloody mary bar and get some greasy bar food to calm the hangover. ITWASAMAZING. I got some kind of skillet with eggy, hashbrowny, cheesy goodness. DELISH! And the bloody mary bar hit the spot. Not very big mugs to make the bloodys and add garnish, but I’m not complaining. I love making my own because I’m a spice wuss. I’m excited to come back soon and try lunch/dinner options!

Trappers is our«go to» spot for good food and to watch sporting events on TV. They have many TVs set up and unlike many bar/resturant combos, you can actually hear whats happening on the TV during the games. We have never had a bad meal there… can’t beat their pizzas, burgers are handmade and the $ 3.95 to add the soup and salad bar to a meal is a great buy. And, did I mention the late night happy hour drinks for $ 2.50? Thanks, Trappers… keep up the good food and local community spirit!

Great great food and fun servers. We love going here Saturday mornings for breakfast. We have not had a bad meal yet. While we have never partaken in the bloody mary bar, it looks amazing! Highly recommended for breakfast.

Love the bar bingo. Food is hit or miss in general. A pretty typical neighborhood bar.

A great place to stop if you’re in the area. The burgers looked great, but I went for the chicken Caesar salad wrap. It was very tasty, but the grilled chicken was a bit dry. My family would probably go back if we ever come across it again! Good bang for your buck!

I’m new to the area and Trappers is just down the street from me. I’ve been a few times now and have enjoyed it each time. The burgers here are some of the best I’ve ever had and I really like the Monday combination of Bingo and a $ 5 burger. The service hasn’t been anything terribly special, but they’re pretty quick and plenty nice enough. I tried the soup and salad bar once, but wouldn’t recommend it. If you like burgers, I’d say get one everytime. Other food here looks good too. Lots to choose from, good atmosphere, many TVs with sports. Different specials and things going on throughout the week. Have fun!

Okay burger n bar on a nice lake view lot. Was extremely loud due to music/tv and some patrons! Not fine dining but okay food for a neighborhood«dive». Not likely I’ll go again but the server was cheery and efficient.

Trappers is a nice local sports bar. Formerly Shirley K’s, it has expanded. The view of Rice Lake is nice. If you snowmobile(remember snow?) this is a must stop place while on the rice creek trails. Its a good bet for a burger or whatever the special is. Today’s special was fish and chips. My wife got those. I got a BBQ bacon burger. Both the burger and the fries were good. Fish was crisp and tasty. The server was friendly, if a bit quiet. She got the job done. Drop in if you’re nearby.

Just got back from my first lunch here. Burgers were recommended by some co-workers and Trappers delivered! Ordered the Deluxe Trapper Burger, prepared medium, Caliornia style, with bacon, grilled onions, sautéed mushrooms, and some mystery sauce that was AWESOME!!! Waffle fries and seasoned sour cream for dipping was a la cart. Burger was actually delivered medium(as ordered) and was fantastic. The mystery sauce was embedded between the grilled onions and sautéed mushrooms and worked great in combination with the juicy burger, bacon, California toppings, and soft hamburger buns. Value was great too, burger with fries including tax and tip was $ 10. Not bad for a Friday afternoon lunch spot. One star removed for bacon not being crispy.

Good for bar food. Decent happy hour. Bands on some weekends and bingo and/or poker on some weeknights. Agree with other reviewer that the broasted chicken is best. Also like the wings and burgers.

First time back to the MN in some time. Stayed at my brothers place and stumbled upon this place.(You can take that as literal as you want) Being a CA boy now I was blown away by 20oz beers for $ 3.25(on happy hour) and some decent chicken wings. A full-on game room is downstairs(but $ 1.50 for pool?) so kids can hang while mom and dad«socialize» upstairs. My only regret, I missed ½ priced drinks and midget wrestling on New Year’s Eve. Maybe next year.

Trappers is your typical local bar. Granted, I’ve not been in many«local» bars, but this is what I imagine them to be. We went here to celebrate a few birthdays with our neighborhood group and one of the ladies that frequents Trappers(because her brother lives nearby) calls it a «dive» bar. I wouldn’t go so far, as to me, a «dive» bar is a lot more scummy. They have big screen TVs, a central bar area, tables surrounding the bar, video games, and pool tables. What set them apart, though, was their food. It was all very good. Not just greasy burgers. I had Jeff’s Special Roast Beef sandwich which was basically a french dip. And it was very good. I had waffle fries with seasoned sour cream and those were typical for bar food, but still yummy. A neighbor had fajitas, which he said was good and his wife raved about the patty melt. I had a taste of the melt and thought it was ok. But the best dish all around was their broasted chicken. Crispy, tender, and juicy. Kudos to the waitress because my wife ordered all breast meat and got all dark meat. She didn’t notice til she was halfway through her meal and right after she said something to our group, the waitress came up behind us with a plate off all white meat. So everyone got to try some. It was VERY good. I wouldn’t make a special trip here just for the broasted chicken, but if you’re in the area, it’s definitely worth a stop.
