Good deal for their lunch menu. I definitely enjoyed my food. It gets added points for being one of the few Chinese take out restaurants on Thornton Rd so I can run in and get lunch. The woman at the front is pleasant.

BIG fan of New China! Been eating here for years and really do enjoy most of the items on the menu. I usually only order take out but have eaten inside a few times. My kids love their wings!

First time was a to go order, tonight I ate in. Food was fresh, hot and seasoned well. Our server was friendly. The portions were enough to share. If the food and service remain the same, this will be my new favorite Chinese spot.

Very fast. Very courteous service. Very easy to understand on the phone. We ordered a small smörgåsbord of a meal: shrimp fried rice, shrimp egg foo young, lemon pepper chicken wings, and veggie spring rolls. The rice was pretty good; the shrimp egg foo young tasted a bit watery, but that was nothing a little soy sauce couldn’t help; the lemon pepper wings were the unexpected champ of the night — full of flavor, juicy, and delicious; I was told the spring rolls were good, as I didn’t eat them. When we placed our order and asked when it would be ready; the gentleman on the other end said, «About 8 minute!» And he was not exaggerating. Will definitely eat here again.

I went here today based on the reviews and they were right about the rice, it was good! I got General Tsao chicken, the portions were OK but the chicken was also very good, and not overcooked and crunchy like some places. I would go there again.

Had lunch here today. Sweet and Sour Chicken was pretty good. It came to the table really quick. Usually this worries me because I think that it was already sitting on a plate waiting for me before I walked in the door. I would say this is an average place with on par food. A good place to grab a quick inexpensive lunch and keep it rolling. I have had a lot worse but also a lot better.

I’ve never actually dined in, but my husband and I get take out from here all the time. We have never been disappointed by anything we’ve ordered here. I have to mention one thing though, the rice at this place is f#@king amazing. Just the regular old rice that they give you with your order. It’s not the boiled white rice they typically give you at most Chinese places. I’m not sure how they fix it, but it’s to die for. I’ve gone in the pick up food before and there are people there picking up orders of just rice to go, and every time we get Chinese with guest they always make comments about how awesome the rice is.

Went here after hearing about it from my grandmother, but I wasn’t impressed at all. Food was more expensive than my regular restaurant. They didn’t have any meat in the house fried rice. Plus my spring roll was soggy, not enough rice given with my other order teriyaki chicken. I will just stick to my normal restaurant.

I was craving some Chinese food over the weekend and didn’t know of any nearby places off the top of my head. So, I pulled out my trusty iPhone, did a search on the Unilocal app and voilà! New China Restaurant popped up. It had decent reviews, so I decided to check it out. New China Restaurant is located in the Kroger shopping plaza on Thornton Road. Not sure if it was located somewhere else at some point, or if it was always there. Maybe I just never paid attention… *shrugs* Anyways, I called ahead to place an order. The man who took my order was nice, but one thing that threw me off was him asking me when would I be able to come pick up the food. Usually, the person over the phone will tell you how long it’ll be before your food is ready. Maybe they get so many calls from customers who don’t pick their food up in a timely fashion. Anyways, my order was ready in 10 minutes. When I arrived to the restaurant, there were others coming in to place orders and a few that were seated in the dining area. Because I ordered my food to go, I can’t really say how the service is in that regard, but I had no problems when picking up my order. From what I could see, the establishment looked nice and clean and had enough seating. There’s also a sign posted stating that you have to place a minimum order of $ 8 to use a debit or credit card, so keep that in mind. I’m assuming the man and woman at the register were possibly the owners. They were nice, prompt, and had my order ready when I got there. I ordered the chicken with broccoli and a side of veggie spring rolls. The chicken with broccoli was good, and the veggie spring rolls(you get 2) were delicious. All in all, I wouldn’t say it’s the BEST Chinese food I’ve ever had in my life, but it’s pretty good when you’re in the mood for something other than the standard fast food joints in the area. #Yelp100

Traditional Chinese sit-down restaurant. Excellent quality food. Keep this place in mind for a quiet dinner. Pricy for normal sided portions. Had a good meal, but I don’t think I won’t be back. Really not anything wrong with the place. Every older Chinese restaurant is like this, as if they are carbon copy of a standard plan. Atmosphere was casual but boring. Keep an open mind.

WOW. I asked my BF to stop here because the Jamaican spot that I like is closed for a few days and this place is across the street in the Kroger Plaza. I wish I’d just gone to KFC and grabbed some wings! The man at the counter seemed to be in a bad mood. Almost rushing me to place an order. Now I know why. THISPLACESUCKS! So he was in a hurry to get my money!!! I ordered Sesame Chicken. Who F’s up Sesame Chicken? Really!!! I received nice size portions of the chicken but it’s just fried chicken covered in honey and sesame seeds. I have never had bad Sesame Chicken before now. The fried rice was bland and a little dry too. For this I paid $ 8.56. I gave my BF’s dog most of the meal because there was a lot of fat on the chicken. Like every other piece. I actually stopped eating to write this review.

We had an exceptional dinner of happy family and orange chicken. Nice alternative to buffets. The staff was exceptionally friendly for getting there kinda late. For the record we were out the door before the posted closing time! A very pleasant décor and a remarkably clean restaurant!

Wow, this restaurant is the best bang for the buck Chinese restaurant out there. There braised wings are tasty and delicious. The staff is friendly and helpful. I love there combo plates for lunch. I will definitely be going back soon as this will be my regular Chinese Takeout spot.
