White Castle

What do you expect? It’s White Castle. Exactly what you need when you need it, after you eat is a different story. You can always go for one more, until you realize you had way too many.

Always a super long wait, definitely not «fast» food. Food itself is «meh» compared to other White Castles. Somehow, even thought it takes so long to complete your order it seems like they rush.

It’s your standard White Castle. I’ve found that most people either hate it or love it. I think the food here is fine (for a White Castle/​fast food chain), but it’s like the most depressing place on the planet. Maybe it just has to do with the fact that the times that I’ve been there were during the evening and late night, but the people behind the register and in the kitchen always look absolutely miserable, like their souls were ripped out of their bodies. I feel like the burgers even flip in slow motion, not in the «look how decadent and amazing it looks» slow motion, but in like a «I’m in purgatory and this pain will never end» kind of way.

Yes, 5 stars. I’ve never been disappointed in White Castle. This location is very clean. The staff is very courteous, The food is, well, White Castle good.
My latest visit was at 11:30 PM after a tortuous American Airlines experience from Dallas/​Fort Worth. Plane changes and gate changes. No meal on board. Pissed me off.
During a gas stop on the turnpike I got the hankering for something to eat that didn’t require my cooking. Where to go? Where else but White Castle? Like a good friend, it is always there for you, offering comfort ²⁴⁄₇.
My go-​to meal is the same, 4 sliders, 6 piece bag of chicken rings and a small bag of onion rings. All were devoured in the car during my 10 minute ride home. The one time I don’t mind red traffic lights. Forgot all about that flight and all was Nirvana.

The best White Castle location. They churn em out fast and quality is always good. Nary a misplaced pickle nor spot of ketchup. Cheese and patty are layered squarely with the soft fluffy buns. Also located close to a good Taco Bell so I can kill two birds with one stone during a guilty pleasure run. Is White Castle the height of culinary accomplishments? No, but it’s a comforting reminder that simple can be good.

Yes, I’m reviewing White Castle. I rarely review fast food places, because they’re basically all the same, but a recent visit made an impression on me. There’s one lady there who works the night shift that is very cheery and friendly — really makes this White Castle location stand out from other places. I honestly think she should work somewhere else where this type of attitude /​behavior is recognized and more rewarded.
With a friendly and competent staff like that, I would be more inclined to visit this White Castle location. It’s too bad that their food makes me sick the next morning and have terrible diarrhea. Their breakfast sandwiches are awesome. Their white castles sandwiches are overpriced. $ 0.76 doesn’t seem like much, but it’s like ¹⁄₃ the size of a dollar menu hamburger from other fast food chains. But if you’re eating fast food and doing math to calculate bang for buck, you’ve got other problems anyway…

Decent staff. They work quick during afternoon hours. Very friendly. Big parking lot too.

I tried to order a sack of 20 on their website for Super Bowl Sunday and had a problem… Fortunately the employees answered their phones right away and confirmed my order! Hooray!
I’m so glad to find a fast food place that employs competent people, even at minimum wage :-)

I came here and picked up a bunch of cheese sliders and fries… the issue was that I had only half of them left by the time I got home. It was just too temping and ease to pick on the food during the drive. The family was a bit pissed that I ate their food in the car and vowed never send me to White Castle to pick up the food again.

This location is better than most WC’s. You can taste it in the food and observe it in the cleanliness of the restaurant.

This has got to be the best fast food restaurant in the area and possibly the best white castle in all of nj. They are open I believe ²⁴⁄₇. After a certain time you can only use the drive thru, which I’ve found to be pretty good. Their quality is consistent and their prices are cheap.
I love their Jalepeno poppers, which is just their burgers with jalepenos. I like how they warm the buns on the burgers.
They have their own hot sauce available in packets.
They have so many side items. Deep fried mozarella sticks, clam strips and fish bites. Chicken rings along with regular onion rings. You can also get chilli fries. One time I asked that they make their chilli fries with onion rings and they gladly obliged.
Their food is packaged well. Your order will come in a plastic bag. Protective cardboard containers will prevent any number of burgers from getting crushed. I would recommend that you eat your burgers right away as they may get kind of soggy.
They have seasonal items like the ice cream parfat. Be warn this is huge and you will eat it all.
This place is clean.
Make sure you ask for extra packs of ketchup as they tend to skimp on that.

It’s White Castle, what else do you need to know. It’s a 1 star if you don’t like fast food or little burgers AND it’s a 5 star if you’re in the mood for throwin back 4 burgers & fries on the cheap. So even though I’m a big fan, I split the difference and gave it 3 stars because it’s not the burger joint for everyone.

5 stars, here’s why:
First off, everyone knows it’s a White Castle. For me to rate them this high is not because the women who take your order, serve your food topless, but for these reasons:
Their location is perfect. The parking lot is big, and the drive thru is spacious. Have you been to the White Castle in North Bergen? You need a smart car for that drive thru. This place is really neat and clean, all the lights work so the place is always lit up, and it’s really never too busy.

I miss you guys. i should probably make my way back over there.
This place is the king of late nite and early morning burgers.

Where I grew up, I can only get these at the supermarket but when I had the real deal, oh man… it was great. Greasy, salty, surprisingly onion-​y. Done and done.
I never wanted to try this from the supermarket. So glad my first time was AT white castle.

Don’t get me wrong having poop-​inducing belly bombers once a decade is good for the th soul but 5 stars is pushing it.

Food: White Castle gives me many memories with friends. I went to school in Boston and they didn’t have White Castle but after watching Harold & Kumor they made me crave it more. We went on several 8 hour round trips to beast on a crave case for each of us. I must say the burgers aren’t all that on a normal day but when your craving it or when your with your friends on a quest. YOU GOT TO HAVE IT! These burgers are like 1 – 2 bite finish. They are very tiny and it is good but beware, you might be in the bathroom in the morning.
Service: Standard fast food service. They look like zombies when we come in the middle of the night. haha.
Ambiance: A little bit on the dirtier side.
Cost: Cheap!

There was a time in my life where I could knock down 30 of these ewoks in one sitting. I think I used to eat them with onion rings too, the large box. Since I’m no longer on big willy status I can only reminisce of those days of yore.
The frozen version of this burger does not do it any kind of justice. This is a burger best enjoyed after a six-​pack of beer. For optimum flavor, drink that six-​pack in an hour or so. An average person can easily knock four minis down along with a regular fry and a small/​med soda. I would not condone making this a daily or even a weekly meal, unless of course you’re into that sort of thing.
I haven’t made my yearly visit yet this year, but I’ll be back east for Xmas. I’m sure I’ll pencil it into the schedule.

Can two Harold’s go to White Castle?
We made a midnight run at the Bergen White Castle, which surprisingly had a long drive-​thru queue. Fine, we order inside and grab it to go. 10 burgers, two fries, about $ 10 bucks — not too shabby. Buns were pillowy soft, the meat was thin, and surprise layer of sauteed onions. Basically, your average fast food joint. Not very substantial, but good for some late night snackage.
