Tjk is my favorite restaurant. Everything on the menu is delicious, and the staff is amazing.

Absolutely in love with the food, great dinner selections. Pretty solid lunch menu as well for an afternoon meal. Incredible servers, they are polite, attentive and friendly. Very cool décor, cozy atmosphere but very beautiful as well. They have tons of food selections which are absolutely delicious and a large selection of unique beers and wines. 100% check it out, you won’t be disappointed.

We’ve been coming to TJK café for a few years now and the food is always so delicious and consistent. The staff & service is always outstanding, very attentive and friendly as well. If this is your first time at the restaurant, we highly recommend their white sangria, shrimp tacos, ribs, skirt steak, lamb chops, grilled shrimps with a side of sweet potato and their house salad with sesame dressing. Don’t forget their desserts, their Sammy’s Surprise with homemade custard is our favorite. Enjoy. You won’t be disappointed! TJK is also very good at throwing birthday parties & dinners too! Thank you.

TJK, love this place! The wait staff is polite and quick. The food is amazing! Things on the menu will not surprise you but the flavors when you eat them, WILL! I have been here many times and it’s a true neighborhood gem. I may have even said that in my last review. Lol What can I tell you, love the food, all of it. Must get that house sesame dressing on your salad. Must try the shrimp tacos! I loved my pork chops and on another visit, the Gorgonzola rubbed steak. It’s always a nice vibe and cool desserts to match the awesome menu. Check out their desserts displayed in the front near the bar. Everybody I went with loved the flaky pastry with the fruit topping and cream. Drool. The chocolate dipped strawberries are big and nicely plated. You will love this place as much as I do. You will.

I’ve lived in this area for over 10 years and never tried this place. We tried it last night and ordered the penne vodka with no chicken or shrimp, the skirt steak and pork chops. All of the food was good and flavorful, however the portion size for the price paid was not worth it. Our total was $ 65 before tax and this was takeout. Also — I told the person taking my order 3 times that NONE of our food could have nuts because we have a person with a severe nut allergy. The person taking the order assured me that all of our food didn’t have any nuts in it. When my husband brought the food home there was a bag of bread that had walnuts in it — which we realized after taking a bite. After we dealt with the reaction that my son had, I called the restaurant back and told them what happened and the owners response was«oh, the person that packed your food didn’t know.» That’s why I told you 3 times dude! Never going back here and I would recommend if you have a nut allergy — don’t either because it’s obvious they don’t give a crap.

The food was excellent. The sesame dressing is house made and delicious. I ordered the bowie pasta w/shitaki mushrooms in clam sauce and added shrimp. It was a good size portion, it arrived piping hot, and the seasoning was perfect. The restaurant it’s self was quaint, roomy but not too big. I loved the wall of mirrors décor. However, in the entry was one of the umbrellas stank of cat urine and should be discardd. It made the vestibule smell very offensive. All in all a great lunch and would go back again and recommend.

Been here a few times. Stopped by for dinner and my wife wanted a Burger – waiter said he had to check as they had sold quite a few earlier in the day. Came back from the kitchen and said they were all out. We ordered Crab Cakes & a Steak dish. As we’re eating our meal a group came & sat next to us and wanted to order Burgers – different waiter went to check with the kitchen and now they had 4 Burgers. Owners wife came by and asked if all was Ok – told her what happened. She told me they were in yesterday & ordered the Burgers(LOL). Told her I didn’t believe her. Our waiter then came by and apologized. The owner then came by and he told me they only had 10oz Burgers. Told him about the 3 different stories and he walked away rather embarassed. He then sent over chocolate covered strawberries on the house. They are closing for vacation. Maybe they should review their customer service policies and how they treat all their customers.

The wait staff here deserves a standing O. As an Asian of Flushing for 20 yrs, never have I ever experienced such good service. But then again, this here ain’t Flushing! The food was good, which I’ll get to, but the waiters… freakin… waters filled instantly, and this magical thing I loved most — the eye call. Meaning no hands raised, no «excuse me, may I get a…»; just ONE glance and they got your back. We came on Vday, under reservation, as well as around 7 other parties dining at the same time. It was snowing and freezing out, but TJK was beautifully decorated with hearts, streamers, and cute @$$ waiters xD(BF and I were rating them the whole night) Every single table was well taken care of, and you could just tell that everyone was happy. NOWTHEFOOD– House salad w/sesame dressing: Do not underestimate the Asian dressing. I really didn’t think much of it when ordering, but once drizzled over veggies, YUM! Grilled Salmon: Perfectly cooked salmon with moderately flavored teriyaki sauce WITHOUT masking or drowning the freshness of the fish. Totally worth the price!(teriyaki sauce seems to be VDay special. Usually served with dijon mustard cream sauce) Bowtie Pasta: If you dislike heavy red/white sauce like me, then this is the dish for you. My inner Taiwanese also LOVED the whole leaves of basil and how it sealed the freshness with the semi-hearty ‘shroom & chicken. Sammy’s Surprise(or was it Special) dessert: Custard pastry with assorted diced fruits and whipped cream on top. The best thing about this is that it isn’t overly sweet or rich and gives a very refreshing finish to the dining experience. White Sangria: My peeve with sangrias has always been not-enough-fruits… well that’s definitely NOT a problem here. Though at times you get less pieces than other times, but the variety of fruits offered should make you happy enough :) P. S. check out their mirror wall while you’re there. such an interesting and sweet concept~

A bunch of us were looking to dine around Little Neck, Daglaston area. And saw that this place got many 5 stars reviews so we decided to give it a try. There is plenty of parking in the parking lot behind the restaurant. No waiting time to be seated. The service was very good and the food was excellent. We enjoyed our time here very much and plan to come again

You’d be surprised, from the outside this place doesn’t look like much and it being called a café is deceiving. It is a restaurant and the food is definitely tasty. I had the pepper steak and how was it peppery and spicy, but that’s how I like it. It was definitely flavorful. I also tried their white win sangria and it was sweet, light, and tasty. It was a cute ambience, but definitely a lot of older people there. But their menus are cute, they’re famous people. They give menus with famous women to the men and menus with famous men to women.

Very good food and an extremely friendly staff; if you’re going to give a local place business based on overall quality, do it in this case. They put that«extra effort» in. The reason for stopping the stars at three are the prices. The location and paper table dressing calls for a moderately priced menu, especially since Scobee has closed and there is a huge void in Little Neck for reasonably priced dinner food. I’d order from there all the time if it weren’t for the prices. It’s food is above diner level(except for the burgers… They do have better meat, but they don’t have proper buns or the nice fry platter you’d get at a diner), but not priced realistically. The prices make take-out not an option and really when I want to sit down for an expensive meal, I want a little more showmanship from the experience. The only reason I’m writing this is I want to order take out and since time has passed, I checked the menu again to see if anything had changed. C’mon guys… at least offer affordable options. Sincerely, Frustrated, hungry and ordering from Centre Pizza yet again.

From the outside, you’d never guess that TJK Café would offer such a wonderful dining experience. The restaurant is located in a nondescript strip mall on a busy road in Douglaston. But don’t mind any of that. My family has been coming here for many years for birthdays, graduations — any special occasion. We see no reason to find a new spot. First, the food. The menu has hardly changed in a decade, but no matter. Everything is wonderful. The sesame dressing that is offered with the dinner salads is spectacular. The french fries are the best I’ve ever eaten — remarkably crispy on the outside and soft as a pillow on the inside. I’ve always been fond of the crab cakes and the chicken teriyaki. Oh, and the desserts. The desserts are all spectacular. Then there’s the service. The owners are friendly, hard-working and truly dedicated to their business. They take incredible care of everybody, but especially their regulars. For birthdays, they dim the lights, blast loud music and bring out cake with a sparkler that lights up the entire room. It’s a spectacle. If you’re in the neighborhood, come to TJK Café. You won’t regret it.

Went for happy hour last night and had a great time! Drinks, food, ambiance were great! Owner was personable and a pleasure to meet! The owner was so sweet. He remembered my husband and I mention that we just celebrated our one year wedding anniversary and he placed a sparkler in our dessert and played celebratory music for us! It’s definitely a special place here. Warm, inviting and a great place overall. Will definitely come back. The food is fresh, well prepared and appropriate portions. Creative presentations on dishes and great flavors. The service is fantastic. Everyone is very attentive. A truly wonderful, yet unexpected experience!

I really enjoyed my dinner here at TJK. I went on a Friday evening with my boyfriend and it was packed as one would suspect. We had to wait to be seated due to this, but the staff was very accommodating, took our coats and had us sit at the small bar area in the front. We were able to start off with drinks. The café was very nicely set up, I liked all the mirrors on the wall. I thought that was a nice touch to make the café look more spacious. The ambiance was nice for a date and also for a family dinner. I definitely enjoyed their unique way of celebrating guests’ birthdays or other celebrations(I don’t wanna spoil it for you though so I won’t say any more about this.) There’s a complimentary basket of bread for every table. We ordered a steak and linguine with clams. Both meals were delicious and nicely presented. The staff was very friendly and attentive the entire time. Overall, good atmosphere. Good food. Great service. Definitely coming back!

YUMYUMYUM. A hidden gem that you would mistake for a run of the mill diner from the outside. Not a bad thing on the menu and the coconut shrimp are to die for.

One of our family’s favorite restaurants. Been coming here as long as I can remember. The owners(husband and wife) are hands on. Eric handles all of the deserts while his wife runs the front of house. The food is consistently good and they always go out of their way to please you. The menu is great and there’s something for everyone, including our 7 year old(he loves the coconut chicken).

I really wanted to give it 4 ½ starts but that isn’t an option. Great food, good service, fabulous desserts. I wish they had a bit more variety in their specials but will make something that isn’t on the menu and has been a past special such as Teriyaki salmon which is amazing. Their mashed are silk and the sesame dressing is the best ever. Also an amazing white sangria!

I would give this place 3.5 stars due to the GREATBURGERS! I came here for a low key dinner two months ago since it’s only a few blocks away. I decided to split the cheeseburger with my boyfriend since I wasn’t that hungry with some sangria. But before we know it, we ordered a second burger because it was soooo delicious… plus a second order of fries! Can’t forget their fries as they have a good ratio of being crispy with not being too thin. Good substance with great seasoning! The service was really attentive and friendly as well. One complaint I have here are the prices of the rest of the entrée items on the menu. The prices did not seem to match the restaurant. It deters me from ordering take out if I wanted something other than a burger. So, I will just stick with the Burgers, fries and sangria. Fine with me as long as they keep making them because I will be returning again and again.

Let me start off by saying the food here was delicious. Service was solid too. Plus, they gave my wife and I complimentary dessert of chocolate covered strawberries. They were great as well. All in all an enjoyable dining experience. It’s a relaxed place where you can come in and enjoy good food. The only gripe I have is the price of the menu. The entrees on average ranged from about $ 20-$ 30 a pop. I don’t mind splurging on dinner every so often, but in a café/restaurant that uses the hated ubiquitous disposable paper tabletops, I felt the experience didn’t warrant the price. Again, it’s no knock on their food, just thought the menu was overpriced a bit. I might go there again, but then again there are many more restaurants in the area and in Bayside that can do the same thing for a smaller price tag minus the paper tabletops. 1 app, 2 entrees, 2 beers = $ 78.00 not including tip.
