Easily best bbq in Arkansas! Grrat bbq and good people, worth the small detour off I-30.

My best friend and I were in town for the little rock marathon. And we asked what was the best spots in the area? We were told to go to Whole Hog. We ordered the ultimate platter that had a little of everything and it was amazing. Chicken, pulled pork, brisket, 4 ribs and three side potato salad, coleslaw and cheesy corn was more than plenty for both of us to share. Sauces was finger licking good. So good I ended up buying two bottles of sauce to bring home. My friend and I love sauce number 4 traditional southern vinegar and spicy. Potato salad was delish by far the best we’ve ever had. The place was decorated with numerous awards and trophies. And they were all well deserved by far the best barbecue I’ve had. Looking forward to coming next year to celebrate the marathon and no other way at Whole Hog!

Been here many times– sadly my last few times — the pork has been terribly dry which robs the meat of any of the benefit of been slow roasted! Its either over roasted or pulled so far in advance that it dries out. Worse yet when its served its not even warm… sad turn of events for place with some many trophies and smoking know how– treat the little guy like you would the judges and every day will be a five star day. Coleslaw was over ripe as they are likely making to much to go through effectively so its missing all the freshness and snap… soggy and lifeless. I hope they care enough to try a bit harder vs. coasting. Just not what it was.

Best barbecue in town! Maybe the state! No frills, not a fancy atmosphere bit great food. Try the potato salad you’ll be hooked. They have trophies from all over, it truly is an award-winning establishment.

Been here three times for lunch. Got the pulled pork sandwhich, half chicken plate, and rib plate. Consistently good. All three times. Best BBQ I have had in a long time.

4stars for the cashier that rung up our order. She was friendly and informative. I had the BBQ chicken nachos. Chicken was decent, just wished they would have shredded it up better. Toppings were cheese, jalapeño, sour cream, and BBQ sauce of your choosing. Overall they weren’t the best I’ve ever had, but definitely not the worst.

This place is one of those strip mall treasure troves. Our group was visiting from out of town and eager for some good barbecue and we definitely found it – plain and simple great pulled pork, ribs and brisket were awesome and well prepared and all their different sauces were yummy and fun to try. My favorites were 5 and 3. Owner was so nice and genuinely interested in our It’s not an ambience place but who needs it with BBQ this good!

In town for about 24 hours and was told I had to eat here if I was going to have BBQ. So, I went with the brisket plate and added on 2 ribs. Dinner roll, cheesy corn and potato salad completed my meal. I tried three of the sauces(#1, #3 and #5) and decided I liked the #5 the best. The meats were both delicious — the ribs had a nice tenderness and weren’t drowned in sauce and the brisket was still perfectly tender even though I was there about 30 minutes before closing. The potato salad was not my thing — too much onion, but the cheesy corn was amazing. I wish they had fried okra, but that is probably not a thing here. I didn’t see any dessert on the menu, which I thought was weird, but I doubt I could have eaten any more.

Excellent ribs! Best I’ve had in awhile. Very good variety of sauces as well. I recommend the super hot one they have behind the counter.

BBq was excellent, tender, smoky and tasty! Variety of sauces also very good, as was the baked beans. Potato salad was mayo-based and a little bland and rolls were a bit dry and crumbly.

First, I must say as a competition bbq’er what you eat at competition bbqing vs serving to the masses will never be the same and I hope it stays that way. Whole Hog Café has a pretty good meal. Greatness: the choices of Sauces at the table! Wether your a Carolina sauce person a ST. Louis… you can’t go wrong with the favors awaiting you at the table! The sides are a compliment to any BBQ! However, the ratings do exceed the expectation with the meat. Chicken: a little over cooked Brisket seems oven cooked, a little tough. Pulled pork: very good Ribs: love the tenderness but it definitely needs some table sauce to complete. A choice of a porter beer /dark ales to accommodate would greatly help!

Food overall is decent, definitely not the most delish BBQ based off the reviews. My boyfriend and I shared the sampler platter(pulled chicken, ribs, pulled pork & brisket), the pulled pork was pretty good but the other 3 meats is what made this a 3 star vs 5 star. If u know BBQ, then definitely stay away from brisket. Variety of very TASTYBBQ sauces to coat the meat in is what saves this place since meat is overcooked/not seasoned well. The creamy corn was ok, the potato salad was better and my boyfriend really liked the slaw. Worth trying if your in Little Rock but don’t let the Unilocal«most reviews 4 ½ star reviews» have u thinking its Texas Style BBQ

By far one of the best bbq restaurants I’ve been to in my life! I live in Orlando so it’s really hard to find a good bbq place but this place definitely hit the spot! If I lived closer I would come here weekly.

This place… Well, let’s just say that — so far at least — when it comes to the Little Rock BBQ battle, this is my favorite! Whole Hog is famous in the area, and it’s not without reason. You walk in. You’re greeted with the thick, sweet smell of smoking meet(and probably a line). You get to the chalkboard menu. Do you order a pound of pulled pork to go? A pulled chicken sandwich? A BBQ meal? You don’t know! It’s all amazing! I’ve been here a handful of times now, and it holds up after multiple visits. They get a lot of buzz for their sauces, they don’t come on your food, but separately and are numbered 1 through 6. One is super sweet, one super spicy, one has mustard in it, another is extra vinegary, and two are a nice middle ground. And what’s BBQ without a good sauce? The potato salad is also highly recommended, but my favorite thing so far is just a quarter pound of pulled pork to go. It’s so tender and delicious, I’ve found myself eating all of it without any sauce because I just couldn’t stop. Last time I went, I sat down for a pulled chicken sandwich, and I smelled like smoked meat for the rest of the night. Just a heads-up ;)

I ordered the Whole Hog Platter. The ribs, brisket, and pulled pork was tender and juicy. The best part for me was the BBQ sauces. Sauce 5&3 are my top choices. The corn was super creamy and buttery. Server was friendly and the food came out fast.

I chose to go to this restaurant because of all the previous great reviews. And OMG this place did not disappoint. When first walking up to this restaurant you first notice all the trophies in the window. When you go inside there’s even more trophies. Trophies everywhere and well deserved. The guy behind the counter was very friendly and took the time to explain the menu to me. They have all the things you would typically expect at a barbecue restaurant. This restaurant is very comfortable with plenty of tables and booths. It’s actually pretty large restaurant. The pork ribs are absolute perfection. The cheesy corn was to die for. The baked beans fantastic and the coleslaw spot on. Now for my favorite which was the potato salad. I’ve always had my favorite potato salad but wow this potato salad from the Whole Hog is five stars all the way and I like it just the same as my favorite it’s just made differently. There are six different barbecue sauces so there is something for everyone. Each barbecue sauce is so very good in it’s own way. I thought my favorite barbecue sauce was going to be the molasses-based barbecue sauce but no it turned out to be the one with spicy mustard vinegar mix. Truly divine. Well I have to say that I would come to this restaurant every day if I could. It’s every bit of five stars and more.

Wholly Toledo, sorry, probably too soon for Razorback fans. Regardless of the underachieving Razorbacks, The Whole Hog is the Whole deal. Extravagant sauces, six selections from mustard to spicy. Each of which deserve their props. And, unlike Carrot top, The Whole Hog is a pleasant experience. The brisket and pulled pork was different than in the Midwest. It was chopped. Man… how sweet it is to be loved by bbq! Only the finest chop from the best twangy, banjo playing fingers. Don’t forget about the potato salad, the addition of sour cream left our cholesterol levels breathless. Sincerely, Sweet Swine of Mine!

The food at whole hog is mediocre, to be honest. I know this place has had rave reviews, but I think coming from Texas, I’ve had better(particularly in Austin). We got the ribs plate and pulled pork sandwich. The meat was tender, but somewhat cold(we went around 2pm, so past lunchtime). I was excited for the potato salad, but it was so full of mayonnaise that the other flavors were completely masked. I really liked the array of BBQ sauces on the table, however. There were six in total, and I liked the original one and the molasses flavored sauce. It’s a good and cheap meal, but nothing to really rave about.

Awesome BBQ! We were waiting all weekend to try this place and happy that this was open on a Sunday! I tried the two meat platter — pulled pork and pork lion. Both smokey in flavor without drying out. The corn was the star of the show — AMAZING! Creamy and cheesy! The potato salad was the best potato salad I have ever had at a restaurant — a little too saucy but the flavor was there. Dang I wish I had more of the sides. It also came with a roll but why waste your stomach on the bread when you have tasty meat and sides!
