Brakes Plus – Littleton Chatfield

These guys saved me once again. Recently my 2001 Chevy Silverado was making an awful noise that sounded like the engine was going to blow up. I had it towed 27 miles from my house to this shop because they are the only ones I will trust with my vehicle. As usual, they accurately diagnosed the problem and fixed it quickly at an extremely reasonable price. They also fixed a nagging idling problem as well. Devin Schopfer and his crew are the best! They are extremely knowledgeable, provide great customer service, and can fix just about anything. I have great peace of mind knowing I have a place I can trust if I ever encounter any vehicle issues. Keep up the great work!

This entire company is based on a «bait and switch» business model. I stopped in and asked for a quote and they said $ 99 per axle for new pads and resurfacing of my rotors. (This was without an inspection.) Then, when I took it in for the work, the price rose to over $ 500. They said that my rotors were below minimum acceptable. (This is how they upcharge the brake job). I took my car to the local DEALER garage and they said that I didn’t even need pads! I then took it to a mechanic friends home and he took the tires off and SHOWED me that the brake pads were still good.
When I pressed the owner, he showed me what looked like a spark plug gap measuring tool, and said that that was how low my brake pads were. NOT!

These guys replaced my clutch and I am completely satisfied with the work done. After receiving several quotes I also found them to be the most affordable in town. They were respectful and honest; staying in contact with me throughout the day to notify me of other issues encountered (i.e. rusted exhaust, split CV axle), working within my budget, and not pushing anything unnecessary on me. The shop was tidy and staff friendly, I would definitely recommend this Brakes Plus to anyone.

I was really impressed with the the service I received at Brakes Plus today. My brakes were making some weird noises, so I took it in for a free check to see what was going on. Making an appointment was easy and quick, and I had a call back within an hour. I felt the pricing was extremely fair, and they didn’t push anything on me. Even better, they started with the lower package price, as that’s what fit my budget. I expected them to tell me my rear brakes needed replacing, but they were completely honest and said I didn’t need them for another 10k miles… maybe even more! They could have easily taken advantage of me, but I appreciate they didn’t! Thanks Brakes Plus!

I wish I could give a negative five star. Brandon is a total douche and acted like we were a thorn in his side the minute we walked in. They wanted $ 120 just for the LABOR to replace an upstream oxygen sensor, even though we provided the part. This place majorly sucks and I recommend going to Meineke across the street.

I’ve worked with Brakes Plus in Colorado Springs for years and have had great service. This shop; however, has the worst customer service (condescending to my daughter) and haphazardly put my 18 year old daughters life at risk. I made the appointment and sent my daughter with the car to have the oil changed and the brake system flushed following brake maintenance I performed on the rear brakes. The positive is the oil change seems to be done properly. ALARMING is the fact they sent my daughter away with her brake reservoir dangerously low with the brake pedal hitting the floor. Keep in mind the brake pedal was firm (I bled the system) when she arrive to brakes plus and the flush was requested to remove/​flush potential water and contaminants from the system. In addition the technician said the e-​brake (Um, emergency brake?) was installed improperly (not the case) and they would need to disassemble the brake to repair. To add insult to injury they advised (again tried to take advantage) my daughter there was a «significant» coolant leak that required a pressure check to isolate. My garage floor has been dry so I reluctantly agreed to the test. Of course after the test they wanted to charge approx. $ 500 dollars to repair a water pump. Thankfully my daughter called me and I was able to decline the unnecessary service. When my daughter arrived home I thoroughly inspected the car and discovered the brake fluid reservoir was virtually dry, the brake pedal was hitting the floor and there was no sign of any coolant leaking. Nothing on the pump, hoses, freeze plugs, block, and certainly not on the floor. I put the car on jack stands, filled the empty reservoir and performed a 4-​wheel brake bleed. While the car was on jacks I double checked the engine for fluid and found nothing to indicate leakage (no fluid or residue). I spoke with the Manager and he asked if I could bring the car back to inspect the vehicle and a potential refund. Honestly, I don’t trust them to come anywhere near the car and will probably chock it up as an uninformed decision on my part and a financial loss. As you can see my comments are consistent with others and I should’ve spent time researching this location. Unfortunately, my wife and I work long hours and finding time is not always easy. Bottom line: In our experience they were condescending, manipulative, and incompetent at best. STAY AWAY!!!

THIS PLACE IS A JOKE!!! I first go in to have a manager argue with me about what kind of brakes I have on my vehicle. Which he was clueless and wrong about. Then it took the techs an hour (no joke) to take my tires off. Then I continued to sit and wait for an extra two hours for them to tell us that the parts weren’t even in and we had to wait longer. Then I walked to the grocery store and had lunch and came back to still nothing being done. So after a total of four hours they got my front brakes done. So all in all they have a piss poor work place a lack of customer service and lazy technicians. What a waste of time and money. I highly suggest going elsewhere!!!

I was very impressed with the service I received at this Brakes Plus. I showed up for an appointment I had for an oil change a few minutes early and they got my car in right on time. The workers were very friendly and professional and the facility was very clean and comfortable. I was in and out in around 20 minutes. This was probably the best oil change experience I’ve had.
