I was planning the install of several windows for months. I got Albert Mosier’s contact info from a very well trusted general contractor. Installing the windows(all of them, exactly the same) required well-planned logistics because scaffolding was required and I was on a tight timeline with new tenants moving in. But the job itself was extremely straightforward and had no unexpected circumstances or findings.(I’d installed the exact same windows previously on a different floor.) It took Albert several weeks to get back to me with a quote, although he’d promised to have it to me within a couple of days. I was calling and texting him every few days, just reminding him and checking in on when he would get me a price. That should have been warning #1. His price came in much higher than I expected, but with the strong referral I decided to go ahead. Albert agreed that he would finish the work within my timeline(he had from Saturday through the following Friday) – and then proceeded to ignore that agreement completely. He installed 1.5 of 4 windows that he was supposed to install. The second partial install wasn’t done correctly and the window doesn’t operate properly. He wasted an entire week of my time(plus many hours of my time in coordinating with him beforehand) and, at the end, walked away on the day he was supposed to be finishing and said he’d be back in a few days – even though he’d repeatedly promised to finish on that date as I had multiple trades scheduled for the next day to do work that was dependent on him finishing. He didn’t arrive until Tuesday, a couple days after he said he’d start. That would have been fine, if he’d actually wanted to get the job done. However, that first day he spent 2 – 3 hours checking out the exterior of the building and then left. On Wednesday, he came back for another 3 hours and left. He stated that I had to bring in a carpenter to repair the dry rot(which we both knew was there in the framing from the beginning – although I didn’t realize he wouldn’t be repairing it). I had a carpenter on speed dial and they confirmed for the first thing the next morning. I asked Albert to please come back the next day, and told him that the carpenter would be ready for him within a couple of hours. He said, «maybe, keep in touch.» I reiterated that I had to have everything done by Friday. He said, «no problem.» The next day, the carpenter was done with the repair within two hours, I was in touch with Albert all morning, and around when the carpenter was ready for him he informed me that he wouldn’t be coming back till Friday. I reiterated, again, that I had to have the work completed by Friday. He said, «no problem, we’ll get them all done.» On Friday, in the morning, I asked Albert to let me know when he was getting close to finishing so I could take a look. I left for a couple of hours and when I came back at about 1p, I noticed his son’s truck was gone. I came in to find Albert packing up. He told me he would be back on Monday. I had multiple trades scheduled for the next day to do work that was dependent on him finishing. I explained this to him, and he said he had to go because of a family-related situation. He said, maybe he could come on Sunday. And, surprise, surprise, he didn’t come on Sunday. I spent all Friday afternoon and evening, and all day Saturday scrambling to find someone to replace Albert. I had to push back my other trades and I was left in exactly the opposite position I had so carefully planned to avoid. Fortunately, I found someone who was able to come in on a Sunday and who did more work in one day than Albert had done in an entire week. The primary work Albert ended up doing was complaining about having to commute to SF for the job. I don’t have too much of a problem with grumpy contractors, but I was hopeful that the fact that he didn’t enjoy the commute would mean the job would get done quickly and efficiently. That was the opposite of what happened. Albert never apologized for the situation he caused. Seeing Sue M.‘s review, I truly hope that he is retiring. I’m sure he used to be good at his job, but he just doesn’t care at all – or, at least, he didn’t care about getting my job done.

Well, too bad that asking for proof of insurance and a reference were too much to handle for CAM Construction. They withdrew their bid. I guess it won’t make a difference to get a bad review, they said they are going out of business anyway. Thanks for nothing

Albert and Jerry were contracted by Andersen Windows to install my new French door.(My landscaper accidentally broke the outer pane glass on my existing door). Albert called me a few days after I placed the order through Andersen and followed-up with me several times before the door arrived.(It took 4 weeks for the replacement to ship directly from Andersen to Albert’s business). Both he and Jerry we’re extremely professionally and knowledgable. They were careful and cleaned up afterwards. They even took the old door to be junked/recycled. The installation was fairly quick ~30 minutes. I will call them if I ever need help with any of my Andersen products! Thanks Albert and Jerry for the great service!

Albert and his son Jerry have been at my home twice to replace stops on my PELLA doors(you don’t want to know why I didn’t bother with PELLA) as well as help me out on a problematic hardware situation with my living room double-door closet. What enjoyable if not wholly efficient, methodical guys who are? In a word? PERFECTIONISTS. I could not be more pleased, and while I’m at it? Linda in the office, Albert’s wife is a D O L L and was a great help in staying in touch until these issues were resolved. Absolutely real GEMS of the Amador-Livermore valley in construction help. I’ll be seeing them again, I’m sure! Wonderful people, service and quality care… Peggie D., San Ramon, California

I was really impressed with the way CAM were committed on putting together a proposal for installing replacement windows at our property even as they were preparing to leave for their vacation. They followed up with us to make sure their pricing was fair and competitive and really cared about ensuring customer satisfaction. Lily. T
