Mario’s Links ‘N’ Hops

My husband and I stopped in for dinner last night after walking by several times and meaning to give the place a try. As soon as we walked in, Mario greeted us from behind the counter in friendly conversation. He walked us through the entire menu selection and offered suggestions when we asked. I had the andouille sausage with chipotle mayo, grilled onions and peppers, and melted white cheddar. My husband had the Polish sausage, Reuben style. And we each had an order of Frings (fries and onion rings). The sausages were delicious and served on a soft roll. The fries were hot a crispy, and the onion rings weren’t greasy. Excellent food! Great service!
Mario mentioned they were going to soon start serving sidewalk-​side links late on the weekends (i.e. until 2:30am!) If you need some post-​drinking grub and downtown, be sure to head here!

I got a polish sausage w. peppers & onions and garlic fries.
Portions are huge and the food is delicious.
Mario was at the register and is such a nice dude.

Great beers and top-​notch sausages in a nice little hole-​in-​the-​wall in downtown Livermore. Sometimes I wish it was open at the same time as it’s French Dip sister shop (also a great spot by Mario…), but it just makes me appreciate it all that more when it is open…

If you are a foodie this place is for you! You will not find a better Link in Livermore. Everything is fresh and flavorful and grilled to perfection. I had the Linguisa and my husband had the Andouille. Both were fantastic. You can add as many toppings as you like and it comes with fries. The roll is not a typical bun. it is almost like a hoagie only it is super soft. It is the perfect vessel to withstand the link. Had a great selection of bottled drinks as well. Very casual and friendly dining. We will be back with our whole army of friends who will appreciate every bite! Thanks for the hospitality Mario!

Grilled dogs and sausage! Where can you get that in Livermore? This place has a great atmosphere. The owner is friendly and easy to talk to. Most definitely my new favorite place to grab a dog in the Tri-​Valley.

Great place anytime if you want good sausage or dog on a bun. There’s plenty of choices of grilled sausages to choose from and plenty of choice’s for toppings. Good beer on draft and craft soda’s in bottles. I had the steak and cheese and my wife had the big hot dog. More than enough to eat at one time. We were stuffed.

So glad a great sausage place came to Livermore. Was my first time today and I had the Italian, which was HUGE. Nice bun and lots of toppings to choose from. I got the potato salad as my side and it was delicious. Definitely will be going back again and again.

Was hoping a good sausage place would come to Livermore. Been to Spanky’s around the corner a few times but the meat there is not very good, generic, and poor service.
Got the add in the mail the other day about this place opening. Have always been a fan of his French Dip Restaraunt next door.
Anyways, I asked for the most popular so he gave me a Collosal Chubby. Great meat, its grilled and not steamed which makes a big difference. I got a side of Frings.
All and all the type of link place I was looking for. Will be going back for sure

Good hotdogs, I had the hot link and it was good, I also had onion ring and they were the best I ever had. Great selection of beverages, small but comfy place, I will be back.

Sausage and fries are Great. Nice selection of sausage. Fries are good and I love the atmosphere.
Mario you got another hit. I’ll be back until I try them all just wish the girl taking orders wasn’t playing with her hair the entire time and so close to the kitchen. Disturbed me. Still waiting for the meatball sandwich.

The links and fries are awesome!!! Very reasonably priced, awesome décor, and amazing variety! They give you dozens of toppings choices and numerous delicious sausage flavors! I’d define talk recommend.

This restaurant is the brother restaurant to Mario’s French Dips located literally right next door.
The main appeal about this place to me, and a lot of my friends as well, is the fact that they grill their sausages; no steaming or boiling here. Their menu is a pretty good size with a lot of unique options like the Hawaiian and the Chipotle. All of the links come with fries, and they have a long list of toppings you can add, letting you customize you’re own creation.
I ordered the Colossul Chubby, which as you can probably tell from the name is huge. My toppings included: Chili, grilled onions, cheese, and dill pickle spears. The fries they come with are shoestring cut and they’re not bad, but definitely not a selling point. The link was gorgeous. Grilled on the outside, a beautiful pink on the inside, and extraordinarily flavorful. The chili is a meat chili and it’s not bad. That combined with the cheddar cheese is a great combo that not only went well on the Chubby, but went well on the fries as well.
Like it’s brother restaurant, this place is a food lovers paradise.
