My sister is a diabetic all he does is re does the same cavity three times in a raw. He charged an arm and a leg to do a filling that latter turned a to be wrong. His front desk cleark, is a extremely rude, did not want to release my sisters dental a records, which were a total of only three pages. He place a filing in my mother’s wisdom tooth. after going to a perodontist in Newyork I found out that I needed at crown at age 31. Even though I have been going to this incompetent guy since I was twelve years old.

Dr. Koenig has capably cared for the teeth of my family for years. Thanks to his prophylactic care, my two children grew up cavity free and have strong teeth. My husband and I arrived at his practice with cavities and fillings that were a legacy of the poor dental care of our youth. In addition to providing routine care, he has filled cavities, repaired or replaced old fillings, prepared bridges and caps, and ably diagnosed more complicated problems that required a specialist. I have needed a number of complicated root canals, and although Dr. Koenig is capable of doing simple root canals, he always sends me directly to the specialist for the more complex work. He never does unnecessary work and his first thought is for the well-being of the patient. And if an established patient has an emergency, he will move mountains to make sure that the patient is seen and out of pain as quickly as possible. Calls are returned promptly. He also has a gentle, reassuring manner that makes a visit to his office much less stressful than it might otherwise be.

When I floss my teeth, I want to cry as the floss gets stuck in jagged edges as a result of cavities I got because of a gunk of permanent retainer Dr Koenig put behind my teeth. Dr. Koenig made a bad call that cost me the health of many teeth. My new dentist saw pooling of bonding in X-rays from work Dr Koenig did. I am so upset I trusted him for so many years.

I do not recommend going to Dr. Koenig. I went to him for 10 years and I only blame myself because I was not educated what a competent dentist should do. Just to be clear, Dr. Koenig did not damage my teeth or do anything that I could report him to the NJ Board of Dentistry for. I left his practice after he saw a cavity forming in the same tooth he was drilling and he said he would fill the next time, thus costing another $ 250, when it’s cheaper to take care of two at once. Fortunately, my cousins go to a dentist that is 1 hr away from me and I was able to see him. This is what I found out: 1. My cuspids are completely worn down and I have to wear a mouth guard at night. The new dentist saw this within 10 seconds of viewing my mouth, had his assistant take a photo of it(tools Dr. Koenig does not have) and emailed it to me. I was able to check it for myself against photos online to «double check» that this new dentist was right. Dr. Koenig looked at my teeth every 6 months for 10 years and did not notice this? My new dentist said this condition has been this way for at least 5 years. I do not think Dr. Koenig did it deliberately, I believe he cannot see. He always looks at the x-rays later and has his staff call you if you have a cavity. My new dentist does it right in front of of me. 2. Dr. Koenig put resin fillings on my back teeth and he did not shape them to my teeth. My new dentist showed me the x-rays(he even emailed them to me) to show the jagged edges. I showed Dr. Koenig these edges because my floss was getting stuck and he said I was just flossing funny. 3. My new dentist told me to rinse with Listerine Total Care Zero twice a day and that cavity mentioned in #1 that was forming would either stop or get smaller. Dr. Koenig told me to just«come back next time» to pay him $ 250 to fill it. You know what? I did rinse twice a day and on my x-rays, the cavity is smaller and does not need to be drilled! I believe Dr. Koenig is not up on his professional development or would rather make the $ 250 than look out for his patients. I gave a lot of thought into posting this review. Then I thought of the thousands of dollars I am going to have to spend to redo my fillings in a different material and how my cuspids did not have to be worn down all the way if Dr. Koenig had just paid attention. I also thought of all of the money I could have saved on cavities if Dr. Koenig had just told me to rinse with Listerine. I wish I had read this review 10 years ago and picked another dentist. Pick a dentist with up to date equipment that can take a photo of a problem area, blow it up on a screen and show you exactly what is wrong. Pick a dentist that tells you the best method to keep your teeth, not the one that makes him or her the most money. Pick a dentist that is up on the latest dental technology. Maybe ask him or her something that is on the ADA website and see if he or she knows about it.
