This was our first stop on our trek through the Lompoc Wine Ghetto and it set the bar high for the other tasting rooms. We were greeted by their oh so cut labradoodle which was the friendliest dog ever. Piedrasassi doesn’t make too many varietals but the ones they do make are very special and delicious. They also make their own bread in the back which was a lovely pairing with some olive oil. I’ll definitely be back next time I stop by the Lompoc Wine Ghetto.

Good wines from the owner of Stolpman Vineyards. Classy tasting room with an adorable white lab to keep you company.

A very interesting tasting room in the Ghetto. Piedrasassi definitely had a wider variety of wines to try than most of the vineyards. For example, I believe that it was the only one that had a dessert wine in the line-up. Even if it’s not your cup of tea(glass of wine?), I think that it’s worth stopping here for a change of pace and to try some different varietals from the usual suspects in Lompoc.

I haven’t checked out the tasting room yet, but you really can’t go wrong with Piedrasassi wines. The Syrah truly is an achievement, and I recently tried the Rosé, which is a masterpiece unto itself. The owners obviously care deeply about making good wines. Check it out!

This is definitely a must-stop in the lovely wine ghetto of Lompoc! The tasting room is clean, quaint, and not an over-done corporate museum. It’s all about the wine! And what a lineup they present! Amazing Rhone varietals which are memorable from top to bottom of the list! Their whites are delicate, balanced, and unique. They stand apart from the other typical Suav. Blancs and Viogniers. The Syrah is just fantastic! The 2005 is doing quite well right now with the 2007 «Mr. Smith» being the cream of the crop. If we are ever within 50 miles of Lompoc, we make a stop. And the people AND wine always exceed the highest of expectations!

My first time trying Piedrasassi, but was blown away by their 2005 calif Syrah — I loved this wine and great price point. In vino veritas!
