Great custard, and excellent, friendly staff. Unfortunately, they are now closed :(

We went here last night and were so sad to see that they are closing… today… for good! Frozen custard is hard to find among the sea of frozen yogurt and ice cream places, but this place is(was) tops! And always VERY friendly service. Sniff, sniff… sad to see you go!

UPDATE6.29.12 — This location has CLOSED. It’s cheap and it’s not too crowded, so if you’re jonesing for some ice cream but don’t want the calorie guilt, it’s a good place for some soft serve custard. Flavor options are pretty limited: Vanilla, Chocolate and German Chocolate, however they do «Blizzard» style mixes with candy. A small waffle cone of chocolate costs $ 4.50, so it’s not as economical as fast food chains, but it’s better for you. Well, less bad for you.

I’m not an ice cream but for some reason I decided to try«frozen custard». I ordered a strawbana and it was delicious. The portions are more than fulfilling. I had a small and I think two people could have share that size. It’s AWESOME!

They only have 3 flavors: vanilla, mint and chocolate. Methinks that’s kinda lame. The custard was also a bit runny. I want my custard to be thick. Super thick. So, it didn’t fit the bill in those two senses but it’s still really good custard. I think I’ll just go to Goodtimes though next time I’ve got a hankering for frozen custard.

Wonderful little mom-and-pop shop with delicious frozen custard. If you haven’t had frozen custard before, you’ll see why they claim that«you’ll never want regular ice cream again». Staff is always very friendly and happy to give you a sample of the flavor of the day. They have a good-quality machine for Hawaiian shaved ice, which is very good in its’ own right. They also sell pints and quarts of their«flavor of the day» leftovers, so it’s easy to stock up on your favorites until they’re featured once more.

The idea of frozen yougurt is bad enough to me. Frozen custard? Whoever came up with the recipie is a genius! I really enjoyed it. The staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable. I try to watch my calories and it turns out that custard has more eggs and therefore is higher in protein so I was able to justify a splurge to a medium cup! CJ’s always offers vanilla and chocolate with a pleathora of toppings and then they have a special flavor of the day that’s posted on their calendar so you can plan ahead of time for your treat! I had the chocolate drumstick… a perfect blend of waffle cone chunks, peanuts and chocolate syrup! Very awesome. I liked their custard so much I took home a container of cake batter and butter pecan. Needless to say, they didn’t last very long!

Rock solid solution to my sweet tooth. Flavors of the day are sometimes a strange and not my idea of a good dessert i.e. Lemon and Key Lime but you can check online at before you show. They always, have vanilla and chocolate. Overall the custard is smooth and creamy. Doesn’t get a 5 because I think they they are a little stingy with the size of the scoops so in all fairness, I will be a little stingy with my stars.

I love dessert. I can’t really go to sleep without something sweet in between dinner and my breakfast. While ice cream is always safe, I would much rather have a nice scoop of gelato or custard. That’s where CJ’s comes in. I can’t recall why I went to CJ’s to begin with or my first experience, but lemme say there have been MANY trips back since. I recommend looking at their website for the flavor of the day and picking a day when there is one of your favorite flavors! But even if you don’t like the Flavor of the Day there is always Chocolate or Vanilla which is superb! When I’m feeling extra fesity I love to get the Twisters with Chocolate Ice Cream and cookie dough(or reese’s,… or oreos… you get the picture!) Such a wonderful treat and the perfect summer cool-off!

Great stuff. Awesome staff. What more can I say? It’s so nice to have a decent mom and pop establishment in the middle of corporate suburbia. Well done!!!

I worked in a privately owned ice cream shop in high school, so I welcomed the idea of this cute little custard shop. CJ’s has enabled me to give into my cold creamy, chocolately addiction three times. Each time my co-workers and I were greeted with a genuine friendliness and a willingness to explain some of the personalized terms on the menu board. Not to mention the sinful blend of items that are mixed in with the creamy wonderment.(Note: You can add some fruit to your custard to convince yourself it is a «healthy snack».) I wish I still worked in the area so I could enjoy the friendly, creamy escape from my work day. I may just have to find an excuse to drive there now… hmm.
