Born Free Children’s Boutique

A tiny, sweet shop for the lil’ one’s in the Belmont Shore district of Long Beach!
My husband and I were on a coastal anniversary trip and made a stop in Long Beach.
This neighborhood has always been one where unique boutiques have ruled over the chain type retail stores. Easter was around the corner and we wanted to get a special gift for our grand babes: two girls… one an infant, the other a toddler!
As soon as we walked in we were greeted by the store owner who was friendly and helpful.
I was immediately drawn to two California trucker hats with bows, arrows and hearts and knew we struck gold (infant and toddler sized). I figured we could make the hats into baskets with fun fillings for the girls! We wanted to send some West Coast love to the East Coast for the holiday and this was the «just right» item!
The owner wrapped up the gifts with pretty papers and personalized them with each of the girls names to be shipped out at the shop next door! Next time you are looking for something personal. follow your heart or arrow to Born Free Children’s Boutique.

The only reason I’m giving this store a 4 is because the woman who helped us today was very rude, but to everyone else who walked in she had a smile on her face and greeted kindly. AND we were the only customers who bought something. I had been to this store twice before and the women were so nice. It’s sad we had to have such a negative experiences. I might not be coming back:(

This is a tiny baby store off of the main drag in Belmont Shore that is filled with dozens of baby item-​gems. What I love about this store is that there is not a single thing in the store that I do not swoon over — the store owner has done a great job selecting beautiful, unique, and creative items. This is definitely a great store if you are looking for a very special gift for a baby shower, and as you may expect, the price tag is proportionate to the cuteness level of items (a bit high).
As mentioned above, the store isn’t too big. I like that because then I do not get overwhelmed like I might in a big store with a ton of items. There is a kids corner, so if you have young children with you, they can play in that back play area while you browse. Last time I was here, I got to meet the owner. She has a sweet, laid back personality and she is helpful with discussing the items in the store. Overall, it was super pleasant to come in and check out the items. If you are expecting, you can create a registry with Born Free. It might be nice to add some special heirloom gifts for your little one.
Overall, this place is great to check out if you are searching for a special gift for a family member or friend or if you are expecting.

Great selection of highly curated baby products for the petite size of the store. The only downside is the size of the space itself, but the well priced high-​end and natural selection of items is to die for. Our favorite items are the wooden toys, and will grab a new amber teething necklace next time.

Such a cute little store! Was just passing by, and stopped in to find the cutest little heart shaped glasses and teething necklaces that are actually pretty fashionable. Very well priced. Went back today to buy the electrik kidz bib. Happy Mom.

I had such a pleasant experience at this store. First off, the owner is such a sweetheart. She was 2 weeks from her due date and it was so fun to talk baby with her. There was another customer in there and we ended up sitting around for 30 minutes after purchasing our products just talking with the owner and sharing our experiences as parents.
The store was adorable and the products they sell are of the highest quality. The prices are not super low (the reason for the 4 instead of 5 stars), but that is generally to be expected when you are purchasing quality goods that will last you for a long time.
The store also had an adorable little reading nook in the back corner so that Mommy’s with older toddlers and kids could entertain themselves while their Mommy’s shopped. Very cute.

This is a clean and quaint boutique just off of Second Street with lots of unique baby items and baby shower gifts; Tia was very friendly and helpful, thank you!

Love this store. Great attention to detail and great customer service. I have purchased items for myself and friends. They even wrap the gifts for you. Marina is so nice and helpful. Love the once a month etsy special addition to the store. They definitely go out of their way to make sure you find what you are looking for. The products are Eco friendly and focus on a healthy lifestyle. Great addition to the shore.

Love this place! They hosted a special event for my mommy group and did a fantastic job! The girls who run this store are so sweet and kind I was very impressed. The store is so cute and they have done an amazing job with selecting their products. Super cute clothes (by the way, saw some for older than 12 months), amazing supply of Honest products, great wooden toys, lots of good books. the list goes on. They also have a super cute cozy play area for your little ones while you shop. You definitely need to check it out! Support local small business and fellow mommas!

After a quick trip to the Livingston Park my husband and I decided to have dinner on 2^nd Street. After finding parking relatively fast we stumbled upon Born Free Boutique. We couldnt have found this in any better timing… My daughter threw her glass (lifefactory) bottle out of the car when I opened the door to get her out. I was actually impressed with the bottle itself. No damage to the glass just a small crack in the lid and it was a hard throw. Walking past the store I noticed they sold the same brand bottles and had the attachments to turn your regular bottle into a sippy cup.
The staff here was helpful and friendly. They had a small selection of baby clothes from 0 – 12 months for both boys and girls. All the clothing was unique and made with quality fabric. They also had a small selection of toys and books. This would be a great place to find a gift for a baby or small child.
Im very excited to see a baby store in this part of long beach. There aren’t many options and 2^nd street in Belmont Shore needed this new addition.

Just stumbled upon this place over the weekend and they have some really cute, unique items for baby. It’s not a huge store and the selection is fairly edited, but a good stop if you are looking for a unique gift. They also have a lot of The Honest Company items.
