Breakwater Awareness Month Info Meeting

Been going here for 20 years + and have always had a great experience here. Tonight I ordered online and did not receive the dressing, forks, napkins etc. Walk in is great, but online orders need a little more attention to detail by staff. OK, so one poor experience in 20 years; can’t complain too much. Great restaurant, but walk in if you can or call.

Party at the beach! Surfboards, food trucks, Derby Girls, face-​painting, rock ‘n roll, caring peeps… and no damn waves! Oh well, everything else was great and the «surfer’s circle» a success

LB Councilmember Patrick O’ Donnell and the Surfrider Foundation Long Beach Chapter held an informational meeting about the Long Beach Breakwater, highlighting it’s history, the benefit of reconfiguring it & what we can do to get involved.

I arrived about 30 mins late, due to the fact I was in a meeting till a little past 6, but I quickly found a spot to sit & caught up to speed on the presentation. Complimentary pizza & beer were available for everyone in attendance. The pizza was delicious, with me availing myself of too many slices of sausage pizza & spicy veggie pizza.
The presentation was enlightening, easy to comprehend & had testimonials from locals, young & old.
The staff at Ecco’s Pizza were gracious hosts, making sure the piping hot pizza was brought out to the tables & the pitchers of beer were flowing. I pass by all the time & I have never thought to stop in. Now, I know. And knowing is half the battle. Go Joe! ;p
Now, I am more aware & educated on how reconfiguring the Long Beach Breakwater can have positive impacts for the community. It was built for the US Navy, but they have long gone so the Breakwater doesn’t serve a purpose anymore.
I met some cool people & plan to be more active by attending more of these events, writing letters to my local councilmember/​congressional representative & donating whenever I can.
