The Charles Dicken’s Carolers have been singing and entertaining people for 29 seasons. I think that means years since they usually sign around Christmas time. They have been of television several times and sign in 4 part harmony. I LOVEIT! I had the pleasure of hearing them sing at my church last Sunday. They had told us there would be cookies, hot chocolate, coffee social after service and some Christmas music. I figured they were going to have the parishioners singing along with some Christmas music while we had some cookies and coffee. We all walk out after service and I here singing so I figure it’s just people singing songs outside. But once I filed out I saw the Charles Dicken’s Carolers singing. It was SOOOCOOL! I quickly ran over and snapped a couple pictures. Everyone watched as they sang different tradition Christmas songs so no Hippopotamus song this time. After a round of several songs they took a small break and I asked to take a pictures with them. They are SUPERFRIENDLY and PICTUREREADY! TOTALLYCUTE little outfits. Then they asked if I would like to sing along with them after their break. OHBOY… would I! OFCOURSE! I was SUPEREXCITED but wanted to make sure what I would be singing. I grew up singing all Christmas songs in both English and French being that the fam is from NOLA. I used to hate it but now that I’m older I LOVEIT and NO that does NOT mean I speak French. But I guess I could tell you«Hey there is an angle singing», and that there are bells jingling not really all that useful at a grocery store on trying to locate a bank while in France. I figured it I sang low enough with a big smile it would look like I was really harmonizing but truth be told I could not carry a note if I had a bucket with a lid on it. My voice is pretty dreadful. I sound like I’m killing cats, definitely tone deaf, and I tend to make up note that are not even on the scale. Hahah! Hey at least I am honest and I am NOT one of those people that think the following: 1. Louder is better. No you sound awful please don’t sing louder. 2. I can harmonizing. If you can’t sing you CAN’T harmonize. 3. I was in a choir. Yes as a GROUP not a soloist. 4. I tried out for American Idol. UmmI just have one question… did you make it? 5. I was in a choir as a kid. Everyone was in the choir as a kid cause they didn’t want to hurt your little feelings. 6. Number 3 and 5 are my favorite because people somehow think that if they were in a choir they sound good! AGAIN… I have another question for you… are you getting a check for your vocals and are in demand or has your phone hardly rang to book a singing gig. I think that about sums up how talented you THINKYOUARE! And the fact that your family or friends think you can sing is REALLYNOTALL that telling. Most GOODPARENTS think there kids sound good when they sing plus they don’t want to hurt your feeling and keep you from trying anything new. And friends are there to encourage you not break you down. Anywho I digress… The Dicken’s Carolers service the LA, OC, and IE areas but depending on availability they might be able to do SD, Palms Springs, and Santa Barbara so call and check. They also have several quartet groups so book early because Christmas time fills up quick. Add a group of non-tone deaf singers to your next party your guest will love them.

This Christmas Caroling Company is hands down the number one caroling group in Southern California. A little about me to validate my opinion. I am a restauranteur in LASVEGAS and an avid music lover/ex musician. As I am extraordinarily picky about music, and being disappointed with the level of musicianship of singers in Las Vegas(yes, the entertainment capital of the world) I reached out to several caroling companies in So Cal to help with Christmas caroling at my restaurant. Upon speaking to the owner/director of the group, I immediately new I had found the right company. First of all, as we started talking about his groups, I found out he has a doctorate in music from USC, but not only that, I just could tell how demanding he was of his musicians by his acute attention to the details. I contracted Charles Dickens Carolers for the first week engagement Christmas time 2008 and I’ve hired them back every year. Mind you, it’s an expensive proposition for me to put them up etc, but so is my commitment to quality music. Every engagement they have shown up 15 min early, impeccably attired and well prepared. They took guests request at the tables and rarely were they stumped. Particularly popular was their doo-wap version of «Oh, Holy Night». Guests LOVEDIT! Their intonation was extraordinary, especially considering they were in a loud hustle and bustle restaurant, the voices were masterfully matched, and blend was flawless. That all pales to how remarkably polished the group was, it’s as if these singers had sung together for decades! Thank you Dickens Carolers for exemplifying excellence not only in Los Angeles & Orange County, but also Las Vegas! GG
