Very good! This has been a favorite since I was a little girl. I usually get the Chee’s Special Fried Rice &BBQ Spare Ribs!

This am some good China food! This is my «Go to» Chinese food source whenever I am in this area. I have yet to be disappointed. I have been coming here since before I can remember. Don’t judge the food by the outside or inside. The quality and quantity of the food is far beyond average. Excellent prices and portions. The only drawback is that they are closed on Monday.

ok i haven’t ate here since i was like 5 i just had a craving for some chinese food and my go to lee yen was closed down i figured i give this a shot, i heard good and bad things about this place. but i said to myself fuck it take a chance and i wasn’t disappointed i got a side of bok chou veggies in oyster and sesame sauce, some salt and pepper chicken, and some egg fried rice i was pretty happy with all the food you know you can ask them to omit msg but in my culture that shit just makes everything SARAP. don’t eat here when you dine in thats where i see a lot of people giving them the 2 stars, the food taste better when you take it out, so from JEFFTHEWESTSIDE Chef i give this a 4 star and don’t be scared to try local spots in your hood and support your LOCAL Businesses. My mom loves this place. And now I do too… don’t judge the place by its looks, because the food is delicious… we order the individual sizes for special chowmein, orange chicken, fried rice, soup it fed 3 kids, my mom, my brother, boyfriend and me. it easily satisfies atleast 4 people. Food made to order and what makes it more special is that is runned by a couple and always there meaning made with love.,

I came in looking for fast, cheap, and good Chinese take out for a Netflix and Chill night, and Chee did not disappoint! They are very close to my house, very convenient, great prices, and they accommodated my vegetarian request. The lo mein had a nice flavor and a wonderful vegetable medley that wasn’t overcooked. I love it when the bean sprouts still crunch, the noodles are soft, and the broccoli isn’t total mush! Yum!

Small portions but reasonable prices, not to mention quite tasty. We had the house fried rice, orange chicken, deep fried fish with salt, and PAPERWRAPPEDCHICKEN! The fish was ok but everything else was good. The only complaint is the noisy old guys in the takeout section. And the waitress takes WAY too long to come in and out of the kitchen.

If you are a fan of dirty restaurants that load your food with disgusting MSG this is definitely your place! How has the health department not closed this place down?

DONOTGOHEREEVER! This place is HORRIBLE, especially the customer service. I always am there when that rude lady is there during the day, she seems like she’s upset to have a job. The customer service is horrible, she tried to charge me for soy sauce packages mind you she only put two in my bag and I had two HUGE containers of fried rice! WHODOESTHAT? My friend was a gentlemen and paid for extra sauces for me. The food was average some of my rice was hard and my friends food was salty. SHETRIEDTOOVERCHARGEMEFORVEGETABLEFRIEDRICETELLINGMEITSTHESAMEPRICEASCHICKENFRIEDRICE, MORELIESSS… WHODOESTHAT??? She rushed me off the phone when I was trying to bring more money to her dump of a business. When we dined in another time it was dust all in the dinning area, obviously no one wants to deal with her horrible customer service. I asked for soy sauce packages because I refuse to be poisoned by the ancient soy sauce sitting on the table with nothing but dust waiting to cover your food as soon as you flip it, this heffa had the nerve to try and charge me for soy sauce!!! My friend wanted to know if they carried Sriracha sauce and before he could even get the words fully out of his mouth she respond in a rude tone NOOO! I must say this place is a little out dated, but its by far my favorite place for Chinese food. I’ve been coming here for years. The food is always fresh, its made to order. I think the lunch special is the best deal.

Wow, this place stays in business because the community support it. However, I cannot support this spot. When I called, there was definitely a language barrier. I asked about trays of fried rice, but they acted like they could not understand me. Ultimately, they got me to order 3 orders of fried rice. When I arrived, they advertised trays of fried rice. I pointed to that and explained that this is what I wanted. They were like, «oh, now I see.» A little too late. Plus, the kitchen looked liked it needed a good cleaning. That coupled with the container of MSG that the chef had next to him concerned me when I got my meal. I did eat a bit of it and it tasted okay, but that was just like surviving when you eat food from off of the ground. It’s a roll of the dice. With that said, I cannot give Chee’s my seal of approval.

I wanted so much to like Chee. We live close to the restaurant and the building has a vintage Chinese sign and look that is undeniably charming. But then we ordered the food. We ordered our food to go — Kung Pao Chicken and Kung Pao Tofu, a staple dish that is tough to muck up. As we waited, I was able to overlook the clearly dirt-encrusted floors and the curled dead spider on the windowsill. I’m pretty open minded. After all, a dirty entryway doesn’t mean that the rest is that way, right? We received our food and it was a descent portion size. At home, when we sat on the couch and took a bite my husband and I literally stopped mid-chew and looked at each other. It was just terrible. It was like eating salsa-covered chicken and tofu. We tried another bite or two and then just threw it away. It was that bad. In a city like Long Beach there are so many other places to go for amazing food. Chen’s, for example, just blows Chee out of the water. I hope that Chee updates its menu or gets a better chef in the future. I would try it again if that happens. This is a lost opportunity in Wrigley district which needs a great Chinese restaurant!

Ate here so that hubby and friends could take a walk down memory lane. Apparently, he and his family used to eat here about 30 years ago when they lived in the navy housing in Long Beach. It has not changed one bit… not one bit. Call it nostalgic, antique, retro… whatever you want. I’ll call it old. These aren’t the original owners, but everything else is! Okay enough! We ordered: pepper beef steak, Chee’s fried rice(not cheese fried rice!), egg foo young, fried fish, Chee’s Lo Mein(not cheese Lo Mein… lol, again!) and egg drop soup. Right, not really authentic chinese food, but we knew we weren’t in San Gabriel. The egg drop soup was delicious! Hot and tasty and enough for 6 of us to have one small bowl each. The pepper beef was drenched in brown sauce that was too salty, but the beef was tender. The egg foo young was fresh and crispy but the gravy lacked flavor. The fried rice was yummy with bits of Chinese sausage and green onions in it. The fried fish was a big ball of hard, crunchy, salty dough with a sliver of dry fish in it. Oh and we ordered hot tea and it was not good… in fact, it wasn’t even hot! And we wanted the hot tea because the restaurant was dark and cold. We had to ask the lady to turn the lights and we figured she’d turn the heater on since she had customers. She didn’t. Why did we stay? Because of the walk down memory lane, remember? Look, this place is a mom and pop place, so I won’t discourage you from eating here. The food was meh, the atmosphere was«vintage»(lol!) and if you don’t have blood pressure issues and can eat that much salt, try it! I hear they have a steady«to go» business!

Chee’s is my favorite Chinese restaurant in Long Beach. Service is consistently hospitable and the food is always hot & delicious. My favorite is the Hot & Sour soup. The lunch specials are great and it’s fairly priced. I make sure to come back every few weeks.

I don’t even really like Chinese food, but this was pretty good. I thought the special fried rice was great. Not a fan of the orange chicken… was mostly breading. The rest we ordered was solid. Broccoli beef, kung pao chicken, and some noodle dish with shrimp rocked! The place looks like nothing whatsoever from the outside, almost looks closed down, but was open and was worth the stop.

I drove by Chee and noted that the place is so old that the phone # posted on the signe began with Yucon– ! WoW if you are under 50 you may not know what that is about. any way I was never sure if Chee was open or just some closed up place that was a landmark. I finly made my move and stoped frount door was locked but the parking lot door was open, I am glad it was inside is a time capsul of sorts. i love the light fictures in the dinning room and the place has a Mad Men feel to it. What of the food you ask. well I have tried several dishes at chee and is is good . not fancy but for the price it is good. I recomend the Almond chicken and the sweet and sower pork. If you are looking for a high end place to take a date this is not it . service is slow all items are cooked to order. I opt for the take out window most of the time. I dont think i have ever ben to the restaurant when it had more than one or two tabels occupied. Just for the sake of clairity if you are not from Long Beach, the long beach health department does not use the A, B, C rating insted the defiencies are posted and once corrected a notice of correction sticker is added with the date and it was fixed. This is displayed at all food service establioshments in the city . do not be scared off by it PF Changs has one too. The location is nice acrost from a park. Near by the river bike trail. The neiborhood is not the best or worst in Long Beach If you tend to wory about such things a lot well then go in the afternoon not after dark. the Parking los is very small and located behinde Chee addditional parking is all street parking.

Gotta say don’t judge a book by the of this place is dated to say the very least. It seems to be stuck in a time warp– say 1970’s??? The food is hit or miss I have had tasty items(almond chicken and cashew shrimp) but for the most part I find the food to be too salty and often over sauced. I have only had take out here — it is good when I am too tired/lazy to cook or I have burned dinner!
