Club Ripples

I have not see the drag shows, but The Executive Suites have a fabulous Drag King/​Queen shows.
This owners are trying to sell this place. I don’t think they have any interest in it as long as they can pay the bills, I can’t imagine them doing anything to fix it up. It is casual and gay. I find that straight people go because it’s across from the beach and Belmont.
The interior is horrid. It looks dirty and the floors are not even in one piece. Watch your step.
The help seems to act as if they are better than anyone in the place. Not hustling for tip, is apparent.
The outdoor area is ok. Not much has been done to it for a looong time and the sofas are white, well not really white any more. Stained and ??
The drinks are not the most expensive you will find near the beach, so I guess that’s good,

Club was awesome, but for me it’s all about the service and the owner. I was over charged here one night, I called the owner to try and fix it, the owner looked up my card and receipts, but said I was charged correctly. Of course there’s nothing he or I can do about it, but as an owner, I would have apologized, and refunded the, what I think should have been, $ 10 for that extra drink and the two $ 5 tips that I did not leave. It wasn’t a huge charge, but it was an extra drink that I know I did not purchase and two $ 5 tips that I know I did not leave. These bartenders serve a lot of drinks. I always tip $ 2 per drink. Anyways, this place lost a good customer, and gained an awesome review for their already awesome account here on Unilocal.

I went to this place for the first time in 2013. My impression of the place was that it was a dive bar. Nothing too special about it, but I liked the fact that this was literally across the street from the beach.
Now, fast forward 3 years, I came back last night with friends and was having a good time and then the staff were being extremely rude to me and my friends.
Before we even got into the bar, the guy checking ID looks at it and looks at my friend and then shoves the ID into his chest really hard. It was close to being assault and battery.
Next, another friend was fixing his hair in the mirror and one of the staff told him, in a very snarky voice, «it looks good alright.» My friend was a pleasant and paying patron all night. This was uncalled for.
In addition, I was leaning against a couch and then the owner of the club screams «don’t sit there. Get one of these stools to sit on!» I was so livid I got up and left the club. I couldn’t believe what I was experiencing, so I went across the street to my car to wait for my friends.
If want to be insulted and treated with no respect, come here. They will treat you less Human.
Never ever go here. Middle fingers up, keep them hands high, tell him boy bye!

Dogs allowed. Cheap beers. Smoking patio. Across from dog beach. Free popcorn! We loved it!

Fun staff, great drinks.
Free beach parking across the street.
3 bars, with one on the patio that you can smoke on.
Seriously great bar.

We stopped by for an afternoon drink today and waited 15 minutes for the bartender to come to us. After checking our ID’S and placing our orders we waited another 20 minutes before we walked out since our drinks never arrived. Worse service I have ever had there.

It’s ROOFIES no ripples! I know more then 5 people gay and straight that have been drugged and almost raped in the bathroom on more then one occasion! Been to gay bars all over the country and have done 4 of July in Ptown. Now of course I didn’t expect anything like that but I did expect fun, dancing great drinks. Had to carry my friends out EVERY time I went there. Thank god I lived right down the street or I would have had to call 911. He had only had one drink and wasn’t able to stand or walk. If you want to go to a bar go to second st and if you want a gay bar go anywhere else! Only reason I gave it one star is because I couldn’t give it 0.

Great place to have fun. Great drinks. Good music. Lots of friendly guys. Had a great time.

Jason is amazing! But the karaōke is terrible Sunday’s. The girl skips people, takes smoke breaks all the time and gives friends preferential treatment.

Worst night ever. I took a couple of friends who were visiting from out of county and I came upon this place. It was thee worst night i have ever had in my entire life. I am so embarrassed that i even took them there because of how we were treated. We were dancing on a dance floor and i was approached by the «owner» telling me i could not dance here and that i needed to go upstairs to go dance. I told him well why is the music playing down here if the dancing was supposedly to be elsewhere. Bottom line, we went on latin night (because I enjoy latin music) and we were reprimanded by some «owner» about where to dance. I would never come here again and I honestly think if you think about coming to a night club in Long Beach, don’t even think about coming here.

We happened on this place one Sunday afternoon and had the best time!
None of us in our happy group are gay — but it didn’t matter one bit — when the venue is great, who cares, right?! I can’t wait for the day when a bar can just be a bar — and not labeled «Gay» or «Straight.»
As soon as we walked in our bartender, the kick-​ass Michelle (a.k.a. «Mush») greeted us with a smile and excellent service. The bar was full so we sat on one of the very comfy lounge chairs and waited for our friends to arrive.
We moved outside to the patio area and kicked back on the lounge seating and had a great time meeting other patrons and the servers. Everyone was super fun and friendly. Bonus — on Sundays they serve up BBQ!
The only reason for the 4 (and not 5) stars is because for some reason, the flies were out and seemed to love hanging out on the patio with us. I’m wondering if the management would consider some sort of deterrent — maybe a citronella candle or something?
In any event, a great time was had by all and we will be back for sure!

West Hollywood cocktail prices (10 – 13 bucks excluding tip) which were not West Hollywood quality, all at a crappy club with hardly any people (ones there were either completely drunk and crazy, or some dancing– the latter is fine).
In a suburb area away from most of the places where people actually go to to go out. Strange crowd.
Should change their business plan and lower their drink prices!

Last Sunday I came by after going to the Love Festival. There was a birthday party of sorts going on, karaōke, and good people; was having a good time but a very arrogant, rude and childish bartender by the name of Robert completely ruined my experience. This was my first time here, but I’ve heard about it many of times. Being new to Long Beach, living close to this bar, and apart of the community I was hoping to make it a new watering hole. But having to deal with this young man I probably won’t return.
For those looking for a good time, this is an awesome place. Avoid the white haired bartender.

This place isn’t so bad. Having to pay a cover kind of sucks but I go purely to dance. So having to pay a bit knowing I’ll have fun in that sense is worth it.
My bf does have problems getting served on ladies night, which kind of sucks. We’re all equals right?

I just can’t get on board with a club that charges you to get in but will not allow «ins and outs». I just wanted to take a walk on the beach to get some fresh air. Stop being cheap! Buy wristbands or stamps for your customers! What an awesomely stupid rule, especially with how much money I put in for drinks every time I come. Also one of the staff members were quite passive aggressive with my friend about resting his feet on the tables outside. If you in the business of entertaining, have some charm. Next time I go out in Long Beach, I’ll go elsewhere.

I’d love to see this bar become a bigger part of the community! Sadly it’s always a ghost town except maybe Fridays for the ladies. Most of the staff seems very unhappy which you can’t blame them when there’s no one to serve.

My boyfriend and I came here on Thanksgiving and saw the drag show. The host is absolutely hysterical. My boyfriend had never been to a gay bar and was a little skeptical, but I think he laughed more than I did. And the entertainers were fabulous! I’ve been to quite a few drag shows and this was one of the best I’ve seen. We haven’t been back since, but I would love to! The drinks are nice and stiff, too.

A flirty thirty birthday party brought me to Club Ripples. The party had reserved the back patio for the celebration having rented out the three available cabanas. The club hostess was the most servile, refreshing mixers and making sure the party had adequate ice and cups for the service.
The club itself is in an interesting location — mostly residential. The club does appear to have been someone’s home once upon a time.

Great vibe, great location. Overall a crazy positive experience. Love ripples !

No wonder this place is as dead as it is… Crazy drunks and the owner is a d@&k… My leg was resting on the chair and instead of asking me to move it it pushed it off…
It was good years ago but now it’s a dirty crap whole… Just my thoughts
