Looooooooong line, winding through the lobby. I was attending a convention at the arena next door and wandered here at lunch, apparently everyone else did too! Needed a pick me up to make it through the next 3.5 hours with a good attention span, ordered an iced mocha and it was one of the best I’ve had! This is not a «real» Starbucks, even the cups say«we proudly serve Starbucks coffee». Friendly staff, once you’ve ordered your order is up quickly.

Cove doubles as a coffee bar and a lounge within the Hyatt Regency Long Beach on the lobby level, right of the main entrance past the escalators. People from the hotel or adjacent Convention Center congregate here in the mornings or evenings. We came here on a late afternoon to get a bite and a couple of drinks before starting the evening. A lot of people were hanging around from their conference/seminar. I’d read that they offered Happy Hour specials on drinks, but when I asked a server about it, she claimed that there weren’t any. The POS was also down at the time, so they could only take cash payments or room charges. They offer beer and cocktails, and most menu items are a little pricey. Though we planned to get small bites, our food orders turned out to be larger portions than we expected and were served in giant round bowls/trays. The poutine I ordered was okay, but salty on the gravy. It’s interesting that they piled on braised beef. It was good, but probably less fitting on top fries and more suited to a traditional plate. Service was fine, and the atmosphere was relaxing despite the number of patrons milling around the space. It’s aesthetically one of the better hotel bars I’ve seen on a nice property,
