I’ve been getting my cut and color done by Aaron, and so far I’ve been quite pleased. He’s a down to earth kinda guy who’s very genuine and sincere.
His many years of experience as a hairdresser, transcends in his cutting skills and as a color specialist.
He’s always been accommodating to fitting me in for a hair appointment, even when I just need a quick bang trim.
I find his prices to be reasonable and I would highly recommend him for hair care needs.

Aaron is excellent! Loved what he did with my mohawk. Super accommodating to the specifics I wanted and also does a great job improvising cool stuff on the fly in areas I wasnt as decided on. Everyone there is super awesome and friendly too!

Got 20+ inches chopped off, and Aaron made it super painless. Set up an appointment, talked about some of the logistics, and off it all came! Several minutes later, he had wrangled it into something fun and professional. I love my new, short do. Definitely coming back: D

Aaron Buford is the best! I had always been so scared to do anything to my hair because it is very hard to manage and I didn’t know if dying it would make it worse. My friend referred me to Aaron a few years ago and I was so happy with how my hair turned out. Today he put red ombré and I love it so much!!! Envy is a welcoming happy environment and I definitely recommend Aaron to anybody who needs a stylist they can trust with their hair and leave the salon feeling confident and happy after he is done with it.

Aaron at Envy has been doing my hair for 6 years now. He is one of the best in Long beach and he will do whatever you want! He won’t try to talk you into anything you don’t want to do. He is so nice and really loves doing hair. His prices are affordable and he does an excellent job. If your looking for a new hair stylist I highly recommend him.

Found this place on Unilocal and I’m glad I listened to all of the positive reviews! Envy has so much charm that makes you feel welcome from the moment you walk in the door. I was looking to completely change my hair for summer (color, cut, the works) and I’m so glad I went here. Aaron was very enthusiastic about the challenge of finding a new look that I would love and he did such an amazing job. I couldn’t be happier and will definitely be back next time.

I died my hair at another place, and I hated it. I went in and Cindy totally fixed it. Thank you for seeing me last minute. I absolutely love the way my hair turned out!!! I recommend Aaron. He’s awesome at color and knows what is best for your hair. He’s always been on time for my appointments and has never canceled any of our appointments. If anything, he stays on top of your schedule and let’s you know it’s time to come in! Go give him a try and you will leave there happy you did.

Cindy is amazing! I like how she took the time to connect with me and made sure I felt comfortable. I just love how everyone has a good vibe. Super friendly. The place looks and feels really chill. I was looking for a new place to get a shampoo, quick trim, and blow dry. This was the first place that popped up on Unilocal after the ads and had great reviews. Decided to call and check if they had any availability at that moment and thankfully did! Cindy was the lovely woman that did my hair and did a great job. Of how simple my request may sound, most places screw this up. I have long hair. I don’t want layers, no frame, no bangs, nothing just straight across trim. I would definitely go back and recommend this place to everyone. Great, fun environment, the three employees working had a great and inviting attitude and were very involved with each customer that came in and that was already in the salon. Loved it!

Loryn was incredible! Super sweet, down-​to-​earth, laid-​back girl. Was very pleased with my trim and blow out. Apparently they have a special on Thursdays so I ended up paying $ 35! Worth every penny, trust me.

I’ve been coming here for about a year and I love it. First time I came here was for a simple trim nothing big and little by little I began to come out of my «hair shell». Cindy brought out a whole new side of me and she did it gradually (seeing as at 27yrs I had never dyed my hair or even changed my hairstyle from a pony tail). Cindy is magic when it comes to color and she even does makeup… trust me when I say she’ll give you the look you want and she’ll be honest if you might need to come back to achieve that look but she’ll get you there. Quick tip: make an appointment it helps and they’re super flexible.

Love these ladies! Cindy does my hair & is fantastic! Stephanie the owner is pure gold! I tried 4 different salons before finding my little home away from home & every visit I’m super happy that I did! Have to give an honorable mention to Loryn who landed a hand during my last appt and of course to Shannon who is always a joy to see — I mean I could gush on and on about these ladies, but really, you need run, not walk, RUN, to make an appt, because they deserve your business and then some!

I found this salon through Unilocal.I called earlier this morning and was able to make an appointment for later in the afternoon with Cindy.
I am growing out a pixie cut and I need a simple haircut to even it out. Growing out a pixie causes your hair to grow in different lengths so you have to cut it until it is all one length.
I found parking fairly easy outside on the street — metered parking. I walked in and was greeted right away by a couple of ladies. The salon is well decorated and chic. The receptionist immediately knew who I was and quickly was seated with Cindy.
I sat with Cindy and explained what was going on, what I needed, and showed her several example pictures.
Cindy washed my hair and we got started. She was literally cutting about a centimeter — which wasn’t doing anything to level out my growing pixie. I was immediately concerned and explained again what I needed. She cut my hair again and again cut another centimeter and again not meeting what I needed.
I pointed out the different sections of my hair and how the top part was shorter while the back part was longer and I needed to bring those two closer together. Cindy decided to blow dry it and then assured me that she would fix it.
After another go at it and me clearly not satisfied the owner of the salon, Shannon stepped in. I explained to Shannon what I came for, showed her the pictures, and that I wasn’t getting that. Shannon explained to Cindy what to do — start cutting at the back and move to the front. So Cindy starts cutting and starts from the front!
At this point I made it clear that I was not happy and that I was not there as an experiment. Shannon took over. By that point my hair was completely uneven — shorter on on side, longer on another side, and shorter on another side.
I had put an an hour and twenty minutes on the meter and I was still not done (I usually spend an hour at the salon). Shannon asked Cindy to put two more quarters in the meter.
After more cutting I was finally done. It wasn’t exactly what I came for but it was as close as I was going to get at this salon. I’m glad Shannon stepped in and made it better but needless to say I was not happy with Cindy’s lack of abilities in cutting hair and will more than likely not come back.

My hair looks fantastic.
I went in overgown, frizzy and in need of that little extra something. I was blonde some time ago, and have been growing out the damage for months now. While my hair is now healthy, it was… plain.
Cindy really took the time to help achieve the perfect teal fade to mint on my highlight color. Going so far as to custom mix it for just the right hues. She was especially careful to get the highlighted sections lifted without damage and breakage.
She took the time to re evaluate my cut with the splash of color, and placed layers to best show off the work. The blowout has my whole ‘do looking bouncy, shiny and gorgeous.
Thank you so much Cindy. I LOVE my hair! Your attention to detail and skillfulness definitely have me coming back to Envy!

Envy has been providing my color and hair care for 7 years now. The shop continues to evolve. I love the vibe and the neighborhood. Most of all I love the way my hair looks when I get out of Stephanie’s chair! She is a master with color. The Aveda products leave my thick wavy hair silky soft and full of body. I receive so many compliments on the rich color but what people can’t know is how soft my hair feels.
I can also recommend Cindy & Shannon who have stepped in when Stephanie was booked out (when you are that good you are busy!!) What I love is they know my formula. The color is consistent no matter which stylist takes care of me.
Envy Beauty stays on top of the latest products and techniques so my look is always fresh.
