I’m a lover of lamb and other Greek food. I apologize for my pre-conceived idea that airport food would be poor. This place was delicious and reasonably priced! I had the gyro platter with a Greek salad and thinly, seasoned fries. It came with pita bread also. Best lamb I’ve had, ever! All fantastic in their taste and quality, for the amount paid. YUM!

I LOVE George’s. It is hands down my favorite Long Beach restaurant. With that said, I have to warn you, this location plays by a different set of rules. (Yeah, it’s in an airport so that’s sort of to be expected but, I was a little disappointed with my most recent experience) I ordered the gyro sandwich with sauce on the tzanziki sauce on the side.(seating was no where to be found and I didn’t want the sandwich to get soggy while I searched for a place to sit.) I was given a teeny tiny serving in a small condiment cup.(It made for a very dry sandwich.) I went back and asked for another side and was shocked to find that a side of Tzanziki is $ 3.50! For one Itty bitty cup! I could understand $ 1.50-$ 1.75 but, come on! The tzanziki and pita appetizer is $ 4.99 all by itself. I know you pay a premium for airport food, and I’m ok with that but I wish that when I asked for«extra sauce on the side» the cashier would have given me a heads up so that I could have asked for the sauce on my sandwich and gotten a larger amount or, just paid $ 3.50 at the time of my initial purchase. In any case, this is a nice addition to the terminal.

Though it smelled delicious, my Gyro with rice was disappointing. The meat was a lil on the saltier side, drenched with tzaziki sauce, cucumbers, tomatoes and onions. The cucumbers and tomatoes were fresh but there was just way too much onion for my taste. The pita underneath looked fluffy but was rather hard. After unburying the meat, I took a few bites and just left the rest. For a side dish, there was a choice of salad and rice. I chose the rice and although it was soft, I could taste the seasoning and frozen veggies. Price isn’t bad especially for airport but the whole gyro was so messy to eat on the plane that it kinda defeated the purpose.

This place would get 3 – 4 stars if it wasn’t in the airport. But for airport food, it’s an easy 5. Here’s why: — The prices were reasonable. Not reasonable for an airport, but REASONABLE. — They cook the steak to order. Mine was great – not a bit of fat on it, generous medallions, and perfectly cooked. — The folks who worked there were nice, helpful, and seemed to ENJOY chatting with the customers. Either they like their work environment or they were doing an excellent job of pretending. — Want to customize your salad? No problem at all. They make each one to order – even the side salad you get with the gyro or whatever. Individually tossed to order. At the airport. — Tzaziki(sp?) sauce is good and comes with everything! Even the kabobs! No extra charge! Whee! Admittedly, I live in the California Bay Area at present, which means my Greek food standards aren’t sky-high. But still, for an airport take-away joint, I was super impressed with George’s. Pro tip #1: They take forever. Be patient. Definitely don’t come here if you’re in a hurry. We got ours to go and the wait was at least 15 min, with no one in line in front of us. Pro tip #2: carry your food over to the Cantina, where seats and outlets are plentiful. They don’t serve food there, and don’t mind you bringing other stuff over.

It is ok for an airport but nothing special. In addition, i asked for gyro and get kebab. But it’s not bad and it seems healthy

Pretty good gyros! Prices a little steep due to being in an airport, otherwise good food. They gave me a hunky chunk of lamb too. My wife got the lamb salad, and she loved it. The best Greek place in the whole airport, LOL

Just LOVE George’s! So happy they have an airport location! Couldn’t WAIT to sink my teeth into the sumptuous fare! PROBLEM: The fresh, delicious food takes on the overwhelming taste of the cardboard container! It’s enough to ruin the best fries and gyro! YUCK! Find another way! PLEASE!

I ordered a greek salad with gyro meat, and for a big hungry guy like me, there was plenty of fresh delicious food. Five stars!

Best airport food ever! 5 stars because it’s in an airport. It was fresh, tasty & huge. Too big for one person, but somehow I managed! I got the side of fries, my daughter ate every single one. Again fresh; fried right then, it too was a generous portion. She liked them very much! Would definitely eat here again.

I got the gyro plate with a side of salad and rice. Salad was fresh and well dressed and had a generous amount of olives. The tzatziki on the gyro was a bit thin and on the runny side, but the gyro was still good overall. Very big portions here. The rice, though, reminded me of cafeteria food. Still, overall it was a pleasant surprise. For airport food it’s pretty good.

We were at the airport early for our flight to Oakland. A bit of lunch seemed like a good way to pass some time. As the airport already made me feel I was someplace other than Southern California, Greek food sounded good. Greek food always seems to be hit and miss for me. The food is was in between. The chicken kabob were dry, The spinach salad was great. The pita bread pieces were fresh The yogurt dipping sauce was perfect to dip the dry chicken in I might not go out of my way to dine at their main restaurant; I would certainly enjoy this spot at the airport if I am here again.

If it’s Greek you want — come to this place. The food was good, the service was better and the price was within company guidelines. Overall — it’s a solid four, but there are good points and a few bad — like noise — I thought it was a little on the noisy side of things and of course parking isn’t the greatest — but everything else is GREAT!

By far the best airport food you can get here. You get the most bang for your buck too. I ordered a gyro w/a side of fries and it came out to be about $ 8.50. Typically 8.50 gets you a small sandwich at a airport. The service was incredibly friendly as well. They had mistakenly given me a salad instead of fries. When I took my box back they replaced it w/o any hassle and w/a smile. In comparison to everything else around(mexican food, burgers, breakfast) you should definitely choose here. The food is pretty decent; price is just as good as others; and the servce is a-ok!

Love what they have done to our lb airport w the additions of the eating and retail options here. Agree w most that for airport food it’s pretty good. Staff not so good — they seemed stressed, a tad disconnected and unorganized. May be some wrinkles still to iron out yet…

Greek salad and Gyro were very good. I like that you can request the salad and gyro without the red onions. Much better tasting than the normal airport food.

By far the best airport food I’ve ever had. I had the falafel, which wasn’t the most well-seasoned falafel I’ve ever had, but it was good. The salad actually had something to it, which is admirable, and the fries were crispy and tasty. The sauce and pita bread was the bomb dot com. The chicken kebab was totally legit. And it wasn’t even all that expensive. In the tiny Long Beach airport, I’d say this is your best bet!

Very impressive for airport food, and even better than much of the non-airport food in Long Beach! I was a little doubtful and almost picked the Mexican option, but my colleagues who ate at the real restaurant in Long Beach said this place was really great. When we ordered, they were out of falafel and said that it would take 10 – 15 minutes to make more falafel. So I ordered the gyro platter instead, though I would have normally chosen the falafel. My colleague ordered the falafel and it turned out it didn’t take long to make at all. There was a bit of chaos in the ordering line where it wasn’t clear who was taking orders and who was making food. Nonetheless the food all arrived fairly quickly(even the falafel) and was extremely tasty. I loved my gyro plate, and it wasn’t expensive at all, especially for an airport. I should also note that the lemonade here is excellent, good enough even to keep me from trying more of the sodas on the fancy any-flavor Coke machine.

My first tip should have been the fact that the grill smelled like it was cleaned with the same brush that cleaned the toilet. My second should have been that they charged the lady in front of me $ 0.30 for a water cup(which I’m pretty sure is illegal). Unfazed I completed my purchase, $ 15.40 for a chicken gyro and two small smart waters. The side salad was a soup of dressing, the chicken tasted so foul(har har) that I threw it away after a single bite. It’s worth noting that a solid attempt was made to mask the disgusting flavor of the meat by drenching it is what I assume is their take on tzatziki sauce. Unfortunately that was the only other ingredient in the sandwich: Meat completely swimming a white sauce with a few specs of diced veggies floating in it. I had high hopes for the food court in the new terminal. The terminal itself is beautiful and a welcome addition to LGB.

Wait, this is airport food!?! I watched the guy place falafel and fries into the fryer just moments after we placed our order. After letting it cook for the appropriate amount of time, I watched him place the falafel in the pita bread and squish it a bit so it could fit properly in the sandwich. He added this freshly chopped mixture of red onion, tomato, and cucumber. I asked him to replace the tzatziki with hummus and he asked me if on the side was okay. He then filled the rest of my lunch box with thinly cut fries. When we sat to eat, we were in love with the fries. It was simply seasoned in salt yet so tasty and addicting. Maybe it had to do with the oil in was fried in. Who knows. All we know is that it was perfect! My Falafel Sandwich was also pretty perfect. The falafel was crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and just dense enough to satisfy my hunger. The hummus was super thick and creamy. A great compliment to the sandwich! The meat eater BF had the Gyro, rice(cooked in chicken stock), and stole a bunch of my fries. Our sandwiches costs roughly around $ 8-$ 9 each and it comes with a side. When we flew back into Long Beach, we were craving George’s Greek Café. We went to the Lakewood location for dinner and later confessed to each other that the food was much better at the Long Beach Airport. In Lakewood, the falafel was not crispy on the outside, very mushy, and the sandwich was drenched in hummus. I guess I’m gonna have to fly in/out of Long Beach more! :)

For airport food, this is satisfactory. I got the gyro + side salad, and it comes with loads of food. The price is decent. My biggest gripe was the amount of sauce. The tzatziki sauce overwhelmed my gyro wrap, and I found half of it on the food wrapper because there was so much. The viniagrette overshadowed all of the great salad components and made it virtually inevitable. If you’re reading this, ask to get sauce on the side, or else.
