Granny’s Donuts

On my very first visit here I was treated like a regular.
Half asleep and almost late to work I popped in for a much needed coffee and muffin. As Nathan, the adorable and amazingly sweet young man behind the counter grabbed my muffin, I poured cream into my coffee.
«That’ll be $ 3.35»
I opened my wallet, most likely cussed out loud at the discovery of zero green and looked at him with pleading eyes, «Are you cash only?»
Instead of directing me to the nearest ATM, Nathan told me to enjoy my coffee and muffin and stop back whenever I could to pay my debt.
Later that afternoon when I went back Nathan was gone, but his mother was there. I was slightly afraid that Nathan might be reprimanded for letting the goods out the door, but no, she was also incredibly kind and was just happy and proud that her son had made my day.
