Gretchen’s Kitchen is such a random little place next to(and I am guessing related to) Gretchen’s automotive. It has the feel of eating at someone’s house. You order in the kitchen area and sit in a living room type area which is the rest of the retaurant. The furniture is comfy and welcoming and they have a self-service coffee station with flavored creamer and sugars. The service is always great, also feeling like you are at a friend’s house. It is very relaxed and warm. I have only had one thing there, but it is so good i get it every time-the meatball sub. If you eat your food there, you get a free side and i would reccommend the pasta salad. You MUST try one of their Italian crème sodas. Any flavor of syrup you want with crème and soda makes for a delicious and uncommon treat. One of the BEST things about this place is the candy counter area. Just under the menu in the kitchen there is a large and random assortment of somewhat rare candy. Things like pop-rocks, wax bottles and sunbursts(chocolate and candy coated sunflower seed). From what i understand, they do fully prepared dinnerrs that several customer’s come by and pick up on their way home every night. The girl working there said this is where they do most of their business. In my opinion, you are missing out if you dont eat there every once in a while. Overall, this is a great find. Parking is always easy, service is always fast and friendly and the food is very reliable and good. What you get for what you pay is pretty fair, too.
