The food was okayish. The beer was good. Wings were okayish, I unfortunately couldn’t try any seafood there, i am assuming it would have been good.

Must be locals who write these reviews because I had two drinks and unless I ordered more food they wouldn’t serve me another’s. WTF!!! Never coming back!

Everything was good. Nothing spectacular but solidly enjoyable. Fishermans chowder was decent. Crab cakes were decent. Steak was well prepared(but seemed to be not the best cut of meat). The tots & fries were decent. The drinks were pricey but strong — so a decent value. Service was friendly and competent. Atmosphere was enjoyable. At 5pm it was not busy but by 6pm there was a wait. Overall — not too bad. I wouldn’t say it was awe inspiring or life changing but I am certainly willing to return.

The third Friday of the month, a group of old farts get together for lunch at 11:30. Yes, most are sporting red hats. My first impression was a very clean restaurant. Even tho someone forgot to make reservations(save the old jokes– I’ve heard them) staff accommodated the group of 8. The menu was fairly diverse, from lamb burgers, ahi, crab dishes. Everyone ordered something different. The food presentation was spot on! Every dish out of the kitchen delighted the eye. With such care, our mouths were watering as the dishes were presented… would l order the crab melt again, no, I’d order the Thai chicken. All declared the food outstanding, but slightly expensive. I’d go back again with hubby so I can have a glass of wine. Where’s the alcohol loving red hats anyway?!?

Mehhhhhh So there aren’t a lot of options in Long Beach, especially if you’re trying to eat past 8pm. If that’s the case, Lost Roo might be your best bet. Everything was perfectly serviceable, but hardly memorable. Well, not quite true. This was memorable: I got the crab melt. It had quite a few pieces of crab-shell still mixed in with the meat. I was constantly picking shell out of my mouth. It was gross. I complained to the waitress, who went and told her manager. The waitress came back and tells us that sometimes there’s still shell in there b/c the provider doesn’t clean it thoroughly enough. Then she asks if I want a free dessert. No, I don’t want a free dessert. I want you to take this off the bill. I also want you to take some accountability for what you serve, rather than passing the buck to the vendors you source. I considered making an issue of it there, but this whole process was taking a long time and I was just ready to go. I’d say they lost a customer, but realistically I’d never be back anyhow. If you want bar food, this is a seemingly OK place to get it. Especially considering you might end up with zero other options.

The ambience isn’t too bad, but the food wasn’t that great. The wings were advertised as rubbed, yet they came out soaked in some kind of hot sauce. The calamari was soggy. And the chowder — recommended by many friends — was just run of the mill chowder of the thick-n-pasty variety, with the sherry already mixed in for you. I wanted to like the chowder! The ingredients — which include steelhead — looked inspired! But it didn’t taste that way. Maybe they were just having an off night, I don’t know. WITHTHATSAID, The bartender slings a mean margarita — a spicy hot one! Come for the margarita, but make sure to avoid the food mentioned above. Also, the place is very clean and friendly, with an odd Aussie theme yet expertly placed high def TVs for the game. Worth the stop!

The prime rib wasn’t good this week. Asked for medium, got one rare and not cooked and one well done via the microwave? Get rid of those fake masher please! We always go to prime rib Thursday but it’s also always a gamble. Two weeks ago is was nicely prepared, thick cuts of delicious meat. What up guys?

Great food, great service, and a great atmosphere. The rice bowl was delicious! The fish and chips were dank af! And the burger melted in my mouth! We appreciated the seasoned fries too! Highly recommended. Elliot was great staff member that went above and beyond and made sure our drinks were filled to the rim! Thanks again.

Best chowder ever. Full of clams and potatoes. Steamer clams were awesome and served with chewy artisan bread. Calamari with peanut sauce, most tasty. Our server was very attentive and friendly. Highly recommend a visit here. Good for couples, families, and large groups.

Such a great place to visit while you are vacationing in Long Beach, WA. We had three generations with us and this place left all of us with a smile. The servers were warm and welcoming. Even though it was spring break while we were there, we got seated right away. They had a fun selection of drinks, twelve craft beers on tap and specials that were just as good as they sounded. My husband tried two new beers that he had never heard of before, my mother ordered a single Persecco and I had their«Beach Bomb». Very pleased with the bar drinks. Also, another highlight was that our 7 year old ordered a Bulldog Root beer that came with a frosted mug. Big hit with him! Dinner came shortly after and the greatness continued. We had the dungeons crab cakes… AMAZING. Perfectly fried, coated in Panko and hardly any fillers. Our daughter had the pulled pork sandwich, so good she sent pics to friends back home to brag. Mother had the fish tacos. Three good sized servings, served on a very retro baking dish, which made a great display. They tasted better than they looked. They offered a good variety of kids meals with the option for fries, tots, salad or apples as a side. So nice to have choices for the little ones. Overall a great place with a fun atmosphere and friendly staff. Highly recommended for family dining, or a special date night. Would definitely return.

Very popular and busy spot. Drinks are the best in town. They use fresh juices instead of store bought mixes. The food was OK. We had the fish and chips and the last piece was a little on the greasy side. Overall good tho. Loud but fun atmosphere.

Stayed a weekend in Long Beach and was on the hunt for dinner. The restaurant I really wanted to try was completely booked, but the Lost Roo had immediate availability so we got a table right away. The building looked fairly new and our waitress was friendly. Our family shared lots of dishes — fish & chips, clam chowder, salmon mac & cheese, the crab melt, and a cheeseburger. The salmon mac & cheese was unique and delicious. I would definitely come back here again for that. We thought everything else was mediocre, and the clam chowder was too goopy for our taste. Also, our family member who primarily ate the clam chowder was very sick the following day. We can’t be sure that was the cause, but we ruled pretty much everything else out.

Ate here tonight while in long beach for a clam trip. 3 dinners, one app and no drinks was $ 100 with tip. Salmon Mac and cheese was very good. Steamer clam app was excellent. Peanut chicken good. Rib steak — disappointed. Very lean for a rib steak — more like a sirloin. Asked about a dinner salad and nope — extra — but was able to sub salad for potatoes and the vegetables. Really? Can’t give me 50 cents worth of potatoes? Lost a star for high prices and low quality steak. Oh and $ 7 for about 1⁄3 cup of cobbler??? Good flavor but seriously — a little pricey.

I imagine this place rocks during Seahawks games. It was quiet today and they were gracious enough to put on the Champions League for us, even though there were NCAA games on to start the tourney. They have some lovely hand crafted beers on tap. I enjoyed a cream ale. The mushroom swiss burger was fab and stayed in tact to the last bite. i despise a crumbly burger. The fries were the highlight, nicely seasoned and nice size chunky bites.

We were looking for a place for dinner on Saturday night after getting into town from Seattle. We drove by the Lost Roo and saw that the parking lot was pretty busy which is usually a good sign. We were in the mood for Thai food though, so we kept driving. When it was time to drive home the next afternoon we decided to give this place a shot, which I’m glad we did. The wait staff was friendly and helpful when we asked about vegan options. My sister was able to order a garden burger(I believe) and I ordered the seafood chowder with a side of garlic bread which I really enjoyed. The place is clean and has enough tables so people can be spread out instead of sitting on top of each other. The only thing that was a little off was that my sister ordered a beer which should’ve come fairly quickly, but it came only minutes before our food which seemed weird. For a small town without too many options and the fear of getting sick, I would recommend this place. Actually, even in Seattle I would recommend this place based on how great their seafood chowder was. Enjoy!

A razor clam adventure brought us to Long Beach this weekend. Chose Lost Roo because of the Unilocal reviews. I had the smoked roast beef dip, house salad, oyster shooter and IPA. My wife had the salad with the frisée and dried cranberries. Our waitress was great and pretty speedy delivery. Overall the food was good but not great. Nothing terribly wrong, just not terribly memorable. The ambience is very kid and sports friendly. My favorite was the oyster shooter. A husky Wilapa oyster in a plastic logo shot glass with cocktail sauce and lime wedge. The oyster was so big I had trouble getting it out of the glass. Haha didn’t want to go yet. You get to keep the glass too. Pricing is fair when you factor in the beach town surcharge. There aren’t a ton of eateries in Long Beach and in the moderate price range, Lost Roo is definitely a consideration. The 2 other restaurants which have more refined cuisine will cost you $ 5−10/person more. For families with kids, this would be a great choice. I will be back. Probably get the salmon Mac and cheese next time.

Grabbed some gumbo takeout and hubby got the prime rib. I got the gumbo spicy and it definitely had a nice kick. I loved the chunks of okra and it was flavored well with garlic and likely paprika and cayenne. There were also lots of sausage and giant prawn pieces. I could have used a bit more rice — it came with a small scoop. Delicious, filling and perfect for this stormy evening.

Poo on the Roo! All we wanted to do was watch the Green Bay Packers game and they wouldn’t let us in an hour and a half early how unreasonable! Why would a Sports bar not be open in time for the first game of the day? It’s the most popular sport in the country?

I wish I could have enjoyed a meal here so I could leave a better review. However, after being sat in the bar by the hostess, our party of 3 was ignored by every employee for the next 20 minutes. We looked over the menu, decided on our orders, stacked the menus and waited. And waited. No waters delivered. No staff saying they’d be with us shortly. Nothing. It wasn’t busy – staff was standing around at the bar and chatting. I hope all of the employees that passed us and ignored our attempts at eye contact were somehow on a shift change? Maybe no one knew we wanted to eat? I don’t know, but it was awkward when the tables directly on both sides of us were receiving service and attention for us to be completely ignored. It was dinner time and a bar setting… maybe we want a drink? Possibly to order some dinner? It seemed none of this mattered. It was odd and we were uncomfortable. I can’t recall the last time I have left an establishment for lack of service. Taking the long walk out of the bar, in front of all of the staff, and no one said a word or even noticed. Not shocked since no one knew we were there! Chico’s Pizza was great as always instead!

Their food and food choices have improved drastically since we were here a couple of years ago. The service had always been good, though. My favs right now are the oyster shooter and the flat iron steak salad. Yum! They have free Wi-Fi, which is reliably up(so far, anyway). We always come up in October and they decorate for Halloween. The seasonal decoration that cracks me up the most is the life-sized«Death» figure that wields a knife and talks to you when you come near it. The other one is the“witch” who has crashed into the pole(decorated as a goal post) on her broom. They have a number of TVs that are tuned into the sports games going on. And they have ginger beer! Yummy! Hubby likes the IPAs they have on tap from local breweries. It’s kind of dead-ish during weekdays, but starting on Thursdays, they’re pretty packed.
