This place is great. I came here on a visit with some friends of mine who live in the area. They had nothing but good things to say about this place. The food was awesome. I had a Carne asada sope and a carnitas sope. Great staff and very friendly.

Small spot. Cold beer. Good chips and salsa. The ships have seasoned salt on them. Loved it. I would say better for lunch rather then at night.

Oh my God. I’ve been here a few times throughout the years. Today was my first time trying camarones diablitos & it was the most delicious thing. A side of chips and salsa were brought out with special seasoning on it. Everything was so homemade the shrimp was so spicy I bought a modelo to cool down my mouth; Best decision ever. Most flavorful rice/beans hands down. Service so polite. I enjoyed my lunch sooo much.

Two words for you … nom nom. Ended up going in here because it’s within walking distance from my boyfriends new apartment and oh man I’m glad we did. Portion sizes are huge and the food is just amazing. I got a dry shrimp burrito plus the gwak is also top notch with a little kick. Some would consider this place a little hold in the wall but it’s so much more than that with authentic décor that makes you forget you’re steps away from LB blvd. Our waitress was also a delight and we had some interesting conversation! If you haven’t been you better high tail your @$$ over there as quickly as possible.

Mamy’s is a cute, quaint Mexican restaurant located in the lower level of a home right near the Metro Blue Line station @ Anaheim &LB Boulevard. I was dropping my boyfriend off at the blue line and he convinced me he had been wanting to check this place out for a few months as Unilocal reviews had called it a «hidden gem». A hidden gem right in the middle of the hood, indeed! The carne asada tacos and the fish tacos were both delicious. At $ 1 per taco for the carne asada tacos and 3 for $ 5 for the fish tacos, the prices really can not be beat. The beers were great(Modelo & Corona for us) and were served with ice cold mugs right from the freezer. My how beer just tastes that much damn better out of an ice cold mug! To me the hotter and spicier the salsa is, the more authentic the Mexican joint. Mamy’s did not disappoint… her salsa had a kick. I told my boyfriend this had to of been the spiciest salsa I’ve tasted dining out. We both smiled knowing we had found a keeper. Never judge a restaurant by it’s location or appearance, the best salsa, service, tacos & beer may be hiding out inside.

Ay Mamy’s. Ay Mamy’s…You popped my Unilocal Cherry! Okay so I’ve been here a couple of times the 1st time I came I didn’t eat, I just got bent on beer. Recently I was invited by a lady friend of mine to meet up for a Sunday dinner, lo & behold it was«Summer Sundays» Appetizers & Drink Specials, cool beans! I had me some carne asada nachos, which the on it waitress informed me was a smaller version of the regular nachos. The nachos were really good and FRESH! Now down to what made me write the review, Tacos de Chicharrón!!! No Fucking joke here, they were really really good, I told myself, «Self, these are best goddamn tacos de Chicharrón to ever gain privleged entry into your pansa» definitely my favorite of the night. The Chicharrón was the thick real one with just the right amount of bits of meat, not that thin stuff they sell at 99-ccent stores but the real deal carnicería style! It was cooked in a delicious home-style authentic Chile Verde sauce! Came for the food ended up staying and riding a great buzz from a few of the buy 2 get 1 free beer deals. Great food, good deals & good service will have me coming back. Ay Mamy’s… I need to see you again real soon!

Good local place to eat. Eat your food there, the people who work there are super cool. The burritos are good and they even serve a bunch of different kinds of beer. Take the Blue Line Train down Long Beach Blv. get off at Anaheim St. and you are right out front. Good local eats.

My friend and I were deciding on where to go for our monthly eat and dish lunch and, I’d seen a review about Mamy’s Place so rather than circling like sharks around a dead Gray Whale looking for Los Eduardos Restaurant(our first choice which we never found) we’d give Mamy’s a shot. ====================================================== Cute little hole in the wall spot, juke box, decorations and definatly something you would see in local spots along the west side coast of Mexico until you hit the resort areas or downtown Cancun for that matter. Chips(shiny and hot) and salsa I liked-Nick did not. My order: Chilaquiles Verde with scrambled eggs, chicken, all beans, sour cream and a radish/lettuce salad(this is what they are supposed to look likehttp://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/S8aMgqUqoBry1BXp7l6ocw?select=KzK-goGj2cTjhYacVhSVog). Also, for my beverage of course Jaimica-$ 4.75 Everytime I tried to take pictures everything had blended into a science project so terribly that it would have been an exercise in culinary futility. Fail-Bland, runny refried beans with a few sprinkles of cheese and no matter how much Tapatio Hot Sauce I added did this disappointing plate of confusion come alive with any flavor. My friend’s order: Chicken taquitos, rice & beans with a coke in a can-Lunch special at $ 4.25. Fail-His Chicken taquitos were full of grissley pieces of what was supposed to be chicken, burnt from over frying and his rice & beans had no flavor either; in fact he didn’t even finish any of it after 5 bites. I was very disturbed that seated right behind us was the owner, her daughter, son in-law and grand daughter. There conversation and rukus from the little one could have been taken elsewhere in the restaurant since we were the only customers in there(after 2 left shortly after we arrived). Also, we both could have done without I Dream of Jeannie reruns blaring on the TV behind us all the while the jukebox was playing Cumbias cancions from hell(Imagine no Sanora Dina Mita singing Que Nadie Sepa Mi Sufrir-I asked!) I would have given this a 1 star review but, my Jaimica was fresh and helped wash down my flavorless concoction and the owner who served us was courteous and promp. Prefiero hacer gárgaras con vidrio que comer aquí otra vez! (translated-I’d rather gargle with glass than eat here again). Mamy’s my lower plumbing had me in the Loo after I got home and, I just had to get right down to the real nitty gritty on your place.

We’ve been driving by this place forever and saying, «We should go there!» each time. I kind of liked those days. We can’t say that anymore. Now we just say, «Ugh. Remember when we went there?» I don’t want to be hard on a small family place, but we just didn’t think it was very good. The guacamole was more like avocado soup, pureed within an inch of its life. We had to season it with salt, pepper and Tapatio to put some flavor in it. My burrito was just bland. I couldn’t taste any seasoning on the meat. It’s not bad food, exactly. I just think whoever’s cooking it needs to get acquainted with the spice rack. Everyone in there is really sweet and friendly and they were very quick with everything. But Mexican food has no excuse for being this bland.
