Payless Shoesource

Payless is one of those places where you have go to check in once a month, evaluate the inventory. Most times… nothing. Then a few months later… Bonanza! I lucked out this week. This great gal Kim at the Cypress Payless was able to look up and hold a pair of boots for me at the Long Beach Towne Center — On sale plus $ 4.00 off! Plus it’s BOGO time! This location is really well stocked and organized.

The employees here are rude. I said i would like to use debit and the cashier ignores me and asked for my id. Throughout the transaction she was gossiping with another employee as well.

Mama needed a new pair of cheap shoes to wear to dinner and Payless was the most convenient. The woman working in the store was incredibly nice from the moment I walked in and explained that they were having a back to school sale. Good to know.
Found a pair of flats that would fit my feet and were cheap. Quick, convenient and inexpensive — a success to be sure.

With 2 little girls, I go shoe shopping waaaaaayyy too often. This particular Payless shoe store warrants a 5 star rating. It was near closing time on a Friday night and we were pressed to find dress shoes for both of them for a wedding.
Both of the sales clerks were so sweet and helpful! They helped us with sizing and finding different styles to try on. They suggested the no-​show socks for their dress shoes but didn’t have their sizes out front. So, one of them went to the back to look for more. With only a few minutes before closing, they were still suggesting different items and encouraging the girls to try things on. They didn’t rush us out the door.
And they had a deal on the no-​show socks, 4 pairs/​$ 10. They had wrapped packages with 2 pairs of socks (same color) in them. They opened the packages and let my girls pick their colors and get different sizes.
I’d definitely come back!

Tanya and Courtney assisted me during my last visit to Payless. They went above and beyond to make sure my Payless experience was awesome! Absolutely lived up to the «Payless» title by making sure I got my money’s worth and super cute new kicks! I will most definitely return. Probably next week … When I get paid ! (;

It’s not often that I am inspired to write a review for a place like Payless Shoes, but I was very impressed with the employees here. This store was not my destination, but as women (and men!) are apt to do, I wandered in while doing other shopping in the area. I was promptly greeted by a friendly employee who offered her assistance and asked if I was looking for anything in particular. I wasn’t, so I just wandered the aisles.
I was then met by another friendly employee, who asked if she could help me find anything. When I was leaving (without buying anything), the first employee who welcomed me acknowledged me again, thanking me for shopping. As I walked out, I couldn’t help but thinking that she is the kind of employee I would like having work for me. I’m sure they are supposed to greet customers and offer assistance, but we all know that many employees don’t do these things when the boss is away. Not only did she do them, but she seemed very genuine.
Both of these employees were genuinely friendly and welcoming, without pressuring me or making me feel smothered like some salespeople do. This will be my go-​to Payless thanks to these ladies!
While I would prefer to buy all my shoes from vegan shoe companies, sometimes you just need an inexpensive pair of non-​leather shoes, and Payless can do the job! Did you know that if you find a pair of shoes you like but they don’t have them in your size, they will find them at another local store and they usually print out a stock location receipt with a coupon for $ 2 off that pair? What service, and what a deal!
This store is located in Long Beach Towne Center, near Lowe’s/Michaels’/Bath and Body Works, so there is a lot of parking available, but it’s still a hectic shopping center to drive around in.
