I needed a tip on my blunt dive knife, dropped it off on Friday, and came back on Monday, and was impressed. Would defiantly recommend.

I needed my hatchet sharpened for splitting wood in the winter. That thing can split a hair now! It is sharper than when I got it. All I had to do was drop my hatchet off at my local Ace Hardware on 2nd St in Belmont Shores, he is there on Monday’s. Monday afternoon I got a call my item was ready for pick up. Super easy. Next… the kitchen knives! :)

One asks the question: «How do the cooking professionals keep there knives sharp?» The answer is, a professional sharpening service. I discovered The Perfect Edge through a friend who is a chef. The service can come to you, subject to a minimum, so it is convenient and professional. If one is worried about the minimum get friends together and have them bring their knives. Fred showed up at my place dead on time, made quick work of resharpening my knives, and is a wealth of information regarding the tools of a chef. He can sharpen both Traditional and Japanese knives along with reshaping knives that have the tip broken off. He can and has sharpened my Mandolin along with any cutting tool like scissors or slicers. And he has an extensive inventory of great quality of knives and cooking tools with answers to questions that can help you get the best knife for the job. He does have walk in locations but I opted for the mobile service and I am happy I did.
