Unfortunately this doctor misdiagnosed me. I was the one that had to ask for a blood test. Rude, insensitive doctor. Ended up being cancer. Almost died as a result. Especially lacking in empathy. Would not recommend.

Dr. Kaneshige has been my primary care physician for 17 years and he’s an extremely compassionate, intelligent and caring physicians. Since I’ve been in the medical profession for many years, and have worked with so many doctors, I believe I can tell when I’m with a strong, capable physicians. Dr. Kaneshiege fits that description… and his MA, Donna is great!

Dr. Kaneshige diagnosed my ‘blacking out’ spells as neurological and repeatedly passed me on to other doctors at Memorial Health Care in Bellflower, CA. After 10 or more years, Dr. Kaneshige was too busy to see me any longer. I was uncomfortable with his diagnosis and thought he was«shooting from the hip,» but I was reticent to say so. I sought to work the problem out elsewhere and was to learn that dehydration, and not a neurological disorder was causal to my spells. Chemotherapy after a colostomy twelve years ago became a problem, but the worst was the sectional replacement of the colon. It had to be surgically fitted close to the rectum, and bowel movements became extremely difficult. As a consequence, artificial stimuli became necessary. The result was diarrhea and heavy loss of body fluids. Dehydration results and blacking out spells follow. I drink plenty of water now. As a side note, I learned that 74 percent of medial doctors suffering from bouts of similar cancer refuse chemotherapy. Now I understand why.

My sister actually found Peter. My doctor is retiring soon so it was a good time for a change. On our initial visit, he was very thorough getting acclimated to my body as well as what tests needed to be performed to treat all of my conditions. It is hard to get an appointment with Peter if you are not a regular patient, but once you are«regular» he can see you within a couple weeks or so. Also the thing that I liked is he fully uses computers so you can have your labs available on your smart devices or computers available wherever you may be.

Dr. Kaneshige has taken utmost & at times, critical care of me for over eight years. He is my primary physician and a well-mannered, compassionate, and intelligent man. Ease of Appointment Promptness Courteous Staff(Nurse Donna is great, as is PA Carlos) Accurate Diagnosis Bedside Manner Spends Time with Me Follows Up After Visit He specializes in internal medicine, but is also a general physician at Long Beach Memorial. Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, Dr. Kaneshige has been practicing medicine in Long Beach for over 20 years. He graduated from University of Maryland at Baltimore School of Medicine and completed his internship and residency at the University of California Irvine Medical Center. It is cool that he uses myMemorialCare to access and store my patient health information via the Epic ambulatory electronic medical record system. I can access at any hour from my smart phone or MAC. I strongly favor him as anyone’s new physician.

Dr. K does not beat around the bush. He will not bombard you with a bunch of meaningless small talk, but is still personable. He is competent, trustworthy and easy to approach. I highly recommend him. Nothing more to say.
