I love this location! The staff is always nice and the food is great. I get the hawaiian breakfast with a half pound of the spicy mayo and sweet n spicy tuna poke. So good!

This place is not that bad, the poké is FRESH and the rice is on point not to soggy or dried… just RIGHT! You don’t wanna mess with Samoans and their rice lol… I got the spicy/spicy mayo poké and it was very tasteful, didn’t really notice it until I passed by it a few times lol… the guy ken who worked there was very helpful in trying each poké they offer… the only reason why I didn’t give them 5 stars is that they had no AC, I wouldn’t want to eat there because it was so warm inside

Very friendly staff. The service is excellent. The food here is pretty good. The cooked food is alright, but come here for the poke. I’d definitely will come back here when I’m visiting the West Side.

The service was great, really sweet guy. The poke was meh and the portions were small. Really basic, good in pinch if you’re craving poke and your kids want cooked food and it ‘s too crazy to make dinner.

Simple, fresh poke place. I got the wasabe tuna and the ginger tuna poke with rice. It ate half of it for lunch, since it was big enough for two people. Lady at the counter was very nice.

I created a Unilocal account to write this review. I would give 0 stars if I could. Poke lovers BEWARE of this place. I love poke. I’m definitely no amateur when it comes to tuna or seafood. But this places gave me food poisoning! YESFOODPOISONING! I was throwing up within 2 hours of eating here. It’s been almost 2 days and I’m still recovering. I’m beyond furious! I missed half a day at work and $ 12. This place should be shut down! You have been warned. Be VERY wary of this place and proceed with caution.

We ate here after getting our new Subaru last year. It was a bit of a hole in a wall in a plaza. The portions were a bit on the small side for Hawaiin plates, but pretty good. Same goes for the poke. I would get it again if I was in the area aka when my car needs to get serviced in the future.

I give this a 3 and a half stars. I’ve tried many poke places and unfortunately this place would be the last poke place for me to go to. The tuna is pretty big. They need to cut it down a notch. I had to cut it into smaller pieces to my likings. I don’t like how they don’t give any toppings like avocado, crab meat, etc. This will be my first and last time here, sorry. But the service is great and also fast which is a plus!

So happy to find another Poke Etc in Long Beach especially in the Westside! The place is small, clean, and cozy. The portion seems more than the other location and tasted better. The lady and gentlemen that worked there was so nice and helpful. I got the salmon and tako(octopus) poke and mixing it together was delicious. The fish was very fresh and the flavor went well with it. I will be returning to this location from now on.

It is a bit bazaar to think what a POKE joint might be doing in a place such as Westside Long Beach. I say this because this area is practically half Hispanic and half Filipino. But then the moment I walked into Poke Etc, it all makes sense when I noticed that the business is owned and operated by Filipinos. There’s even 2 other locations– in LB on Carson St. && in Carson, same plaza as DJ Bibingkahan. I totally got a chill vibe, it’s not a big place so either choose to dine-in quick or order for to-go & eat elsewhere. When I was over here, I witnessed a lady walk in, she knew what she wanted, ordered for to-go and started eating her bowl inside her car – whatever works. On the other hand, the hubby and I couldn’t decide from all the different mix they had. The lady was very kind to let us sample as much as we wanted. For beginners, SWEET&SPICY is a must. IMO, I would’ve preferred more kick to it. My Top 3 Picks: 1. Spicy Mayo 2. Wasabi 3. Fresh Ginger I highly suggest doing a bowl. They are individual portions so don’t bother sharing, it’s that good! The proteins are very fresh, not chewy at all. It is presented over steamed rice which can get really hot & possibly start cooking the proteins. Try not doing this because the proteins will end up being«seared-like» and chewy. Unless that’s what you’re going for, then by all means. Other than that, 4.5÷5 for our meal. If you’re thirsty, they have all sorts of Hawaiian beverages INCAN. A good friend recommended the LILIKOIPASSION and ended up being really refreshing! Sweet and tarty. I’d definitely be coming back here. Parking can get hectic since it’s in a small plaza. But it’s all about timing.

Outstanding service. Very quick and clean establishment. You can actually sample the poke before purchasing, which is amazing. Spoke with one of the workers to find out they have a new location opening in National City, San Diego. Very friendly guy, his name is Ken. The cashier lady was also very friendly and quick to smile and ask about my day and if I tried poke before. Her name is Lyn! My boyfriend and I got the Island Bento Combo Plate, which consists of: Tonkatsu of your choice(we got chicken), teriyaki chicken, a scoop of rice and what I believe to be almost a pound of poke, your choice. Everything was extremely fresh, you can tell by the quality of everything. If your looking for genuine poke, look no further. This place doesn’t DROWN your poke with a bunch of sauces and vegetables. They have a clean ratio of fish to flavoring. Super friendly staff and quick service.

No hokey poke here! With all this poke hype business buzzing these days it’s hard to find a poke spot that is not designed after a Subway Sandwich assembly line that makes their business mixing ingredients I call«distractors» with the main ingredient of POKE. Look no further, Poke Etc. is here for you as they have been for me. This here is their third and newest location. Poke Etc is better than other poke restaurants, because why? Because they also serve hot plates. Pacific Islander grub like loco moco, chicken katsu curry, or chicken adobo(to name a few). Magical touch is the umami dust of furikake they sprinkle on the rice. They also serve breakfast all day! Choices include: Portuguese sausage with eggs, corned hash with rice, pork tocino, and my favorite, longsanisa(Filipino sausage) with rice and eggs. The parking lot is pretty small so be prepared for tight squeezes and crazy drivers. This location is the smallest of the three but has the same looks as the others. Hawaiian nick nacks are used as decoration and are available to buy. At the counter you’ll have the opportunity to purchase other goodies like taro flavored pancake mix, cheese cupcakes from a so cal Filipino dessert vendor. Behind the glass display case sits a very welcoming and friendly worker who is ready to serve you the reason why you’re probably here: the poke! There are about 9 – 10 small containers filled slightly with the magical cubes of fish and other ocean delicacies. Flavors of tuna or salmon include: Tako(octopus) *Wasabi Sweet and spicy Kimchee *fresh ginger Spicy Limu *mayo spicy *Oyster Ask to try before you buy. They can be a little heavy handed with the sauce, but isn’t that what the rice is for? If you don’t see what you like, don’t fret! Closed mouths don’t get fed — ask if they can make it or if they have it hiding in the back fridge somewhere and you’ll be glad you did. Seaweed salad, macaroni salad, kimchi and rice is optional. Spam musubi(spam thinly sliced wrapped with rice by seaweed) sits on the counter crying out excitedly«don’t forget me!» and you better listen. Prices are reasonable and you pay by weight: ½lb for $ 6.75. I’d like to choose all of them, but I guess I should save some for other patrons. I typically choose 3 or 4 quarter pound servings with a side of Mac salad and seaweed salad to share with another human. The spam musubi adds the warm and rice element. Quality service and quality fish makes Poke Etc one of our top poke spots.

I usually don’t post reviews unless they’re either remarkably outstanding or treacherously horrendous. As evident suggests by the star ratings, this poke place has served me beyond my expectations! As I entered the store, I was greeted warmly by the Hawaiian owner. She was very sweet and offered numerous samples of a few types of poke flavors. I’ve been hunting down poke locations all over the OC to the LA area and I’ve got to say that most places rarely give out any samples, so that was very generous of her to offer. For $ 6.95, I’ve got a heck a lot more fish than I expected! No exaggeration, half of the box was packed with so much fish. It was overwhelming(GOODTHING). The quality of the fish tasted fresh and very authentic. I was surprised they didn’t offer toppings, but the base and protein definitely satisfied my appetite. Also, I struck a nice conversation with the owner again. words cannot express how incredibly charming and adorable she was :) Overall, the combination of the lovely service and load of poke will definitely lure me to come back for more!!!

I was craving Poke and so I looked this place up on Unilocal. Its one of the hole in the wall places you can easily miss if you’re not looking for it. The lady I believe her name is Olivia is so nice! She will let you try different flavors and you actually get a lot of poke for the price! I have to drive to long beach a few times a week for school and I always… always got to Poke etc. Recently Ive been going to the other one just because its closer to my school but it is just as good. I do miss seeing Olivia though. Parking is easy in a parking lot prices are good Fish is always fresh and you never really spend time waiting to eat. I think I’ve gone here over 20x’s now so I can honestly tell you… its good every single time!

So welcoming as soon as you walk through the door, I let the nice lady know it was my first time and right away she offered free samples of each flavor. Although all the flavored were good, I went with the Sweet and Spicy Signature Poke Bowl and LOVEDIT I’m looking forward to bringing friends and family over!

There are several Poke Etc. locations and this one happens to be near work. So, we frequent this location often. I love this place because it has great fresh Poke, amazing flavors and great prices. The only reason, I’m giving this location 4 stars is because almost all of their Poke flavors come with smelt eggs which I absolutely hate. The other Poke Etc places offer the same flavors but they do not have smelt eggs in them. I do have to ask them to make me some with the smelt eggs which they are more than happy to accommodate. This location compared to the other location does offer breakfast 24⁄7 which I have yet to try but I definitely will. The location is on the West Side of Long Beach in a little strip commercial spot with adequate parking. It’s a small location but they do offer inside dining. They also have all different flavors of Hawaiian Sun. This place is yummy and they even have a frequent buyer program for their Poke Bowls!

I’ve never had poke before until a friend introduced me to this place. Thus don’t have much to compare however, with that being said I found this place to be delicious. I love the fact that they let me try each flavor of poke in order to find what I liked the most. The rice is perfectly cooked and flavorful(brown rice is what I order). And the teriyaki chicken is also a must try. I have been back a few times since and plan to keep this place in my restaurant rotation :-) Oooh and I can’t forget to mention the super friendly staff!

I like this location a little better than the rest that I’ve been to only because of the Loco Moco. Not sure if the other locations make it but I know for sure the Carson location doesn’t. They have a really good menu with breakfast. Spicy Mayo is always a must when coming here. Had the spam and eggs and wasn’t a fan. I wished they cooked the spam a little longer. I like my spam closer to the burnt side. It looked like they just opened the can and sliced it up and just put it on the grill for 30 seconds. It still had the color of coming out of the can. Other than that try their poke, you will not be disappointed.

I was so disappointed to discover that the bbq place I had just tried a few weeks ago was switching to something else. I decided to give this new place a try and am so happy I did! The woman who greeted me was super friendly and offered to let me try the different flavors they offered. I decided on the fresh ginger ahi and got it with brown rice(yay!). I got a reasonable amount of food for a good price and I will most definitely be returning again!

I always see this Poke joint on the way to work. And I was a little hesitant to try a Poke place in Long Beach after my one failed experience. But I ended up giving it a go, since I’ve heard a lot of good things about Poke Etc… and I’m glad I did. The lady that assisted me was really friendly. She let me try all the different flavors that they offered. I ended up going with the sweet and spicy bowl. It is really tasty! And I’ve been hooked on that sauce! I keep going back to it. Hopefully sooner or later I’ll try something else. And if you don’t see any fish in the front display, don’t get sad. Get glad! Because they are able to make more in the back. I was hoping they would surprise me with more Spam Masubi in the back. but no. Once the platter in front is gone, then that is it until the next morning. Service: I’ve only had the chance to interact with the lady. She is really friendly. Reminds me of my Tita. lol. Parking: Never had a problem finding parking. Price: for a Sweet and Spicy tuna bowl, a spam masubi, and a water cost about 11 dollars. And the portions are a good size! I was definitely satisfied when I was done. Will I be back? Hell yeah! Cause I pass it every day when I go to work. That means I pass it every time I go home! So if i’m craving the sweet and spicy sauce, or something poke, I’ll definitely be back!

Found this place through Unilocal after staying at the Queen Mary. I didn’t know what to get because they also had sweet and Ilocano longanisa… Along with Hawaiian breakfast, pancakes… Loco moco?! So many delicious choices. How does one person decide? Close your eyes and point. So I had the Hawaiian breakfast while my boyfriend got the ginger poke bowl. Both were delish! We’re definitely gonna come back next time we’re in the area.

I liked the variety of their combos since it gave you a little bit of everything. It wasn’t the best Poke I ever had but it was good. It all had a little bit of a feel of someone’s home cooked recipes in a restaurant. If this was close to me, it wouldn’t be in the regular rotation, but I’d go a few times a year and if you haven’t gone it’s worth a short trip.

Love this place. The two ladies that work in the mornings are always friendly and welcoming. I’ve been coming in pretty regularly for the longanisa and eggs breakfast, at $ 3.95 it’s a steal!!! I’ve even brought a bunch of co workers and they all love this stuff. The poke is on great and they have a ton of varieties. They’ll even let you try a piece if you’re not sure or can’t decide. I highly recommend this place and I’ll be coming back for more soon.

Yay another poke etc spot but closer to me! The same super nice staff, same menu items(including all day breakfast, hooray!), and same reasonable pricing. They have their ahi poke ready made and do the salmon by order. Both are yummy. Perfect spot for a quick poke fix and/or spam or corned beef, egg, and rice breakfast!

I was in the mood for some Poke so mom and I decided to give this place a try! We ordered Limu poke bowls and both were fresh and tasty:) my mom has a thing for extra sesame oil and asked the cook for some extra, he kindly gave it and she was a happy camper. We also ordered the teriyaki chicken and teriyaki salmon. The teriyaki chicken is more on the sweet side and comes with rice and macaroni salad. I loved the teriyaki salmon it was grilled perfectly! They also have a lot of imported Hawaiian goods(candies, drinks, cookies, jewelry and souvenirs). They also have cheerful employees which gives it a plus. Plenty of parking and off of Willow next to the Metro store. I will be coming back! Thank you for a wonderful dinner.

I’ve been in a poke kind of mood lately, so when I saw Quoc H post some delicious pics from this place, I had to check it out. I’ve been back twice since my initial visit! My first time here, Franz opened the door for me and showed me the menu. I asked about the ahi tuna flavors, and he offered me some samples to make my decision easier. I tried the oyster, limu, and kimchi flavors.(Strangely, I did not care for the oyster and kimchi flavors, despite the fact that I love oysters and kimchi.) I went with limu(seaweed) flavor. It was a delicate, soy sauce flavor with a hint of sweetness. The poke bowl was about $ 8 after tax. It was a good meal for breakfast. There was an abundant amount of well prepared rice to accompany the poke. The rice was very good. It had a nice consistency and reminded me of the same level of quality as sushi rice. I enjoy the sesame seeds in the rice. They really provide a nice finish. The second time I was here I opted for the salmon poke, sweet and spicy flavor. It was very good. There were large cubes of tender, meaty, fresh salmon. The accompanying sauce was perfect. It was as described — both sweet and spicy. The kick left a lingering spice on my tongue. Today I enjoyed the Ohana plate, which consists of kalua pork, shoyu chicken, and ahi tuna. I went with wasabi flavor for the ahi and it was scrumptious. The chicken was tender and nicely flavored. The pork was tender and juicy, and I could really taste the natural flavors of the meat. It was superb. The menu is quite extensive. They don’t only offer poke. I plan on trying the salmon teriyaki and loco moco soon. Enjoy!

To start off customer service was great. Came in during brunch and ordered spam and fried rice and Portuguese sausages along with some sweet and spicey poke salad and a poke plate with brown rice with limu style poke. Food was good except for the poke salad. It’s served when basic romaine lettuce spinach baby tomatoes and a cup of your choice of poke. I felt it was missing some thing like I can easily make this at home. Other than that I would still come back here again especially for breakfast where they serve traditional Filipino style plates like longanesa egg and rice aka topsilog or lopsilog. They don’t serve breakfast all day though keep in mind. Order took less than 15 mins

The third Poke Etc. we’ve been to, and it is the nearest one to our place. It’s a bit smaller than the one near Ralphs but customer service was great. We ordered the spicy mayo and oyster sauce on salmon and it tastes the same as the other Poke Etc. Good thing about this place is that they offer more fish, rather than just giving a shit load of brown rice. They also ask you if you want to try some samples, Limu is a great flavor but I just don’t like it on tuna. Overall, same as the other joints but they give larger cut of cubes of fish. Great poke place if you don’t mind not having toppings!

So happy to have poke located in Wesyyyyde where I grew up and my mom lives! I tried their poke at another Long Beach location but this one is closer to home. The staff are super friendly and extend an ohana spirit! They speak Tagalog too! The location is hard to find because the banner doesn’t jump out but it’s east of Big Saver. Plenty of parking and decorated with Hawaiian charm. My favorite poke is the limu. I love the flavor but the fresh pieces vary from good to a couple of chewy poorer quality ones. But I still like it! We also tried the lau lau – definite win! I look forward to returning to get my Hawaiian food fix! They serve up a traditional Hawaiian breakfast too, which I look forward to trying soon.
