Our dive bar of choice and all through college. It’s small but it has character. Every city can use a Poor Richard’s!!’

A small place with a bit of character. A dive bar in an upper class neighborhood– it means you get the ambiance without the knife fight in the back. Smile real pretty and the fish and chips place next door will bring you food!

Was there a couple weeks ago and Christy, the bartender was ridiculously rude. She is in the complete wrong type of work for her character. Won’t be coming back if she is there.

A classic in the Long Beach Los Altos area. I grew up in Long Beach and I went to school at nearby Cal State. Went in here for a quick drink. I was cravin for some bloody mary. Instead, I opted for some vodka tonic. My buddy Taka ordered a bud. There wasn’t much of anybody in there especially when walking in after 1am. We just came from playing our home game poker tournament and we figured some drinks were in order. We only stayed for 15 minutes. Good reliable spot for a quick cold drank.

This has been my local dive bar for over 9 years. I’ve introduced many friends and family members to this place. The ambiance is diverse depending on what day and time of day(or night) you go… sometimes it’s mellow and«chill» other times it’s very lively and festive. Great prices and great drinks! The bartenders are all great. Regardless of what day of the week I’ve stopped by, they’ve always been awesome. THEY’REWHY I KEEPCOMINGBACK. I do miss the electronic dartboard though. There’s a Lotto scratcher machine in its place and every now and then I buy a scratcher and play. If I win a jackpot I’m gonna buy an electronic dartboard for Poor Richard’s. Seriously.

Best poor in town. Cheap drinks, good juke box(that plays hip hop) and walking distance from my house.

A couple of friends and I went to this bar and were treated terribly by the bartender(I believe her name was Jessica). She swore profusely at one of our group members for«having crumpled up money and sweating.» It was incredibly unprofessional and I would not recommend this bar to anyone, nor will I be returning. Inside the bar was small, dirty, and dark, and the music was pretty loud considering the size of the space. It made conversation difficult.

The Bar: Outside: A strip mall on the southeast corner of Palos Verdes Ave. & Stearns Ave. on the eastside of Long Beach, lies this hole in the wall, Poor Richard’s, known to the locals as Broke Dicks. Every store on the block has a window except this place. A couple of bar stools outside for the smoking area and a door leading into the unknown. Inside: A long narrow room, the bar to the left and a few tables to the right. Dark inside, likely to mask the filthy ceiling, which we were able to capture with the flash of the camera, nothing a little paint can’t fix. Roughly 20 barstools and tables for around 15 people. The Crowd: Ran into a familiar face that we haven’t seen in over 3 years, good times! As for the rest of the crowd, this is not the spot to look for a date, as it was packed with couples. Thanks to our friend Heather, we were introduced to just about everyone in the joint. everyone was chill. Service: 1 bartender and 30 patrons, needless to say, not the fastest, but served with a smile. Prices: $ 5.0024oz tall boys of PBR& Rolling Rock, $ 4.00 pounders of Coors Light, $ 5.00 double shots of Fireball. Entertainment: 2TV’s, Golden Tee, Lottery Tickets, TouchTunes, Jukebox Karaōke. Restroom: A white tile nightmare with your normal amount disrespectful dive bar graffiti. Equipped with a trashcan, however, the sink seems more appealing to the patrons. The stall, not equipped with a lock, in fact, it doesn’t even stay closed. We recommend the Del Taco across the street. Bartender: Jessica, gorgeous! Closing statement: We had a blast. This is a cool little spot and very close to our regular spot in Long Beach. I see many more trips to this dive in the future. Good prices, good people, good times to be had!

It’s a bar… a dive bar for sure but definitely the strongest pours for the best prices around the LBC. They have a juke box, a couple of games, and they sell scratchers and lotto tickets as well. They have a couple of TVs for games but not really a sports bar. They don’t serve food but don’t mind if you bring some in from one of the local spots.

Richards is my bar. I’m here around once a week, and Kristy greets me like a friend. The drinks are poured heavy and they’re mega cheap, and they’re willing to mix pretty much whatever you want. Do not come here for anything fancy, its a dive. The juke box is awesome. I love it here.

As far as Dive bars go this one was pretty chill. Drinks were cold and the crowd was civil to one another. Not a bad place to grab a beer but only if you are in the neighborhood. Parking is crowded and the place itself is small and dark. 3 stars!

They make some pretty strong drinks here. But with many dive bars, the clientele is a bit older. As in graying hairs. Yeah. Dunno if the bar scene is my type of scene. So I’l give it a 4 stars because it deserves it but I do not think I will be back.

WHEREDO I START??? I love dive bars so when I drove by this place I had to stop and check it out. When I started to ask the bartender for a beer she interrupted me and asked for my I.D. When I handed it to her it fell behind the bar and she glared at me. After about a minute of her staring at me as though she expected me to jump behind the bar and pick up my I. D for her, she finally picked it up. She then asked what I wanted to drink but all they had was domestic and to top it off, the beer was warm. I left my beer there, did not tip her and decided I’d never go back. Don’t bother folks, this place isn’t worth it!
