PS Optometry

Dr David Hoffman and staff at PS Optometry are hands down, one of the best! If you are looking for friendly, caring, knowledgeable, professional, and quality eye care… this is where to come. My family of 6 all wear contacs and/​or glasses and we all feel the same about their service. We’ve been to other optometry offices, but this one definitely stands out. One thing that we like about our visits is that we come out feeling educated because Dr. Hoffman takes time to answer all questions and explains everything. You never feel like he is rushed to see his next patient. It’s a family business, and you are helped by people like Gene, Robin, and Amber, who care. We refer all our family and friends to this office!

Dr Hoffman and everyone in the office is amazing. I always reccomend him to whoever asks. He is especially wonderful with kids… He had my granddaughter cracking up. But more Importantl is that he explains things so well. Lets you know what is happening and really encourages questions. All around a wonderful experience. I have to say he is the only Doctor I look forward to seeing.

Dr. Hoffman and his staff are great eye care professionals. Appointments? Flexible. Questions? Dr. Hoffman will go in deep into detail as you want. Friendly service? Yup, sometimes I forget I’m in there as a patient.
I wanted to be fitted for hybrid lenses. Turns out I have quite a complicated hybrid contact prescription. It took some tries to tweak it to get it just right, but with his patience I’ve been very happy with them. No more worrying about my contacts popping out, comfort is there and my vision is great.

In the past, I never kept on seeing the same Eye Doctor because I never felt that they cared. Thought of it just as a place to buy me a new pair of glasses. That is definitely changing now after seeing Dr Hoffman. Everybody is nice and friendly here. You feel so welcome. Dr Hoffman in very passionate about his practice you can really tell that he cares. He takes his time with you and answers all your questions. He explains what he is doing and why as he examines you. He is the best Ophthalmologist I’ve ever seen. They also have a great variety of glasses. I will be definitely be returning next year for my check up and every year after that even if I move.

By far, the BEST place to take everyone in your family– especially children. My 4 year old loves Dr. Hoffman. He’s amazing, very well educated on everything involving your eyes, and he makes it super fun for kids. He plays «games» with them to check their eyes… She didn’t even notice he was examining her vision or eye muscles, etc… I found an Amazon local deal quite a few years ago for this place and ever since then I have been going and referred my mother, older sister, and my little sister and my daughter both go (who are both under 7 years old). I would definitely recommend this place to anybody. Very clean, friendly, modern inside, and kid-​friendly. You won’t be disappointed :)

Wow what a great experience! I fell off the radar with Dr. Hoffman because of some issues with my eyes where I could not get glasses. I came back and we picked up right where we left off and with no guilt or embarrassment. Dr. Hoffman is the best I have ever experienced and you will feel the same!

I’ve been going to PS optical for years. Everyone in the office has always been very professional, very friendly, and they take their time to listen and get it right. I’ve had at least six pairs of glasses made there since giving up on Kaiser. The only time a pair wasn’t quite right they didn’t hesitate to remade it. I would highly recommend them.

I read many reviews looking on Unilocal while looking for an eye doctor. I decided to see Doctor Hoffman and can only say he is beyond the best I have ever dealt with. He takes his time and explains everything. He answers all questions clearly and honestly. I would recommend him to everyone. Thanks again Doctor Hoffman. You are awesome!

Two days ago I went to PS Optometry for an eye exam and to choose new glasses.
From the moment I walked in I was well treated and felt my opinions and needs respected. The staff was attentive and showed me potential glasses frames that met my needs and price requirements. They were knowledgeable about my insurance and were able to calculate prices quickly and efficiently.
These were all good things, but that was not the best part of the visit. The best part was Dr. Hoffman. When he examined my eyes he was amazingly thorough. He was very skilled at explaining everything he did and the results he got. When He took photos of the inside of my eye, he went over each part step by step, making sure I understood what everything was and what it did.
I rate PS Optometry at 5 stars.

Dr. Hoffman and the entire office are professional, kind, helpful, wonderful people. My 13 yr. old son was seen and my wife was so impressed she said I had to go. I can not recommend this office, staff, and doctor enough… they are great!

This business is family owned it has two sections, Dr. David Hoffman who is the optometrist, while his brother and sister who take care of the eyewear section and appointments. I would give Dr. Hoffman five stars and the eyewear section three stars if I could.
We have been going to Dr. Hoffman for years. Our first encounter was due to the location. We feel very lucky to stumble upon his practice. The office is clean and conveniently located in a shopping center with ample free parking. Dr. Hoffman’s routine examinations are very thorough he takes the time to answer questions and provide recommendations without pushing any products. You can tell that he has a passion about his practice. He is extremely courteous and knowledgeable, he explains the science and the inner workings of the eye. When I had an accidental eye injury he immediately called a specialist to make an emergency appointment for me, he called me home that evening to check-​up on my eye, and followed-​up personally and promptly on the results. I cannot imagine going to anyone else.
The Eyewear section staff is very friendly especially when not busy. I feel there is room for improvement as far as the quality of the lenses and selection.

This is a family run place and I know how hard it is to own your own business. The doctor is so great that I hate leaving a bad review. He is incredibly patient, knowledgable and overall a very friendly guy… his staff (siblings) aren’t quite the same. I was completely rushed into getting a set of frames after my exam by the doctor’s brother. I’ll admit I took my time because the selection isn’t the greatest and because not many frames are suitable for my bone structure (comfort wise). I kept insisting that I would let him know when I was ready so he could help others or take a break. Instead, after pushing several frames in my face he went to the back room and gossiped about me with the other lady (sister I’m assuming). There was no one else there and I heard everything. I was so uncomfortable. I just wanted to get out of there but I had already received my exam and had a prepaid voucher so I needed to use it up. I ended up picking some plain ol’ basic frames and placed the final order. When I came back a few days later the glasses were fine and I should’ve been all set… but I wasn’t. I was charged an additional fee for a service I didn’t request nor approve of. I was so done with this place (and the rude staff running the front office) that I just paid the extra charge and left. Never again. Such a terrible experience. 5 stars for the Doctor… –3 for each rude sibling and for the poor selection.

I started going to Dr. Hoffman after getting an online deal and am so grateful! Dr. Hoffman is so thorough and it is so clear he loves his job and cares about his patients. He listens and doesn’t rush you out like many doctors. If you are in need of an optometrist, look no further! They are the best! :)

I’ve been wearing glasses since the third grade and recently took my boys in for their first eye appointment. I have NEVER met an eye doctor like Dr. Hoffman in all my years as an optical patient. For example:
— Concern for brain and overall health besides just checking vision
— Focus on eye teaming and coordination
— Instead of simply using an eye chart, Dr. Hoffman had my kids perform sight and reading tasks and WATCHED THEIR EYES while they performed them
— Knowledge of nutrition and gluten sensitivity
— NO dilating drops or make-​you-​jump-​out-​of-​your-​skin glaucoma test… instead Dr. Hoffman took his time to do these evaluations in more comfortable ways.
I am so impressed. Above all, Dr. Hoffman’s caring and patient disposition is a delight. He took so much time with us. We will be back!

I used to go to Dr. Hoffman growing up and compare every optometrist I’ve ever had since to him. No one has been able to fill his shoes! When I moved away, I would try to squeeze in an appointment when I was back in town visiting family, but that became more and more difficult to do and I finally had to give in and get an optometrist in my area.
Great customer service. I loved that Dr. Hoffman would always take the time to explain everything. I would recommend him to all my friends and family!

After years of not paying much attention to the quality and accuracy of the eye doctors I visited, I recently realized the importance of seeing a doctor that truly cares about their patients. I will never see another eye doctor other than Dr. Hoffman as long as I am living in SoCal, because he cares.
Stand out benefits of Dr. Hoffman:
— the first question he asked me is «tell me about your eyes» — what? no other eye doctor has ever asked me that question
— every question I ask is answered completely
— he is a perfectionist and will continue to work until he is satisfied
— he is a curious person who is able to cross over the information he learns in other areas he studies and applies them to his eye care
— he takes the time to explain how the eye works — sure, you’ve read this in other reviews, but I can’t stress how much better I feel knowing things other eye doctors expect you to figure out on our own or know ahead of time
— he digs to find the root cause of the issue, rather than just glossing over something
Yes, I have insurance, and I will continue to go to him without it. I believe in investing in healthcare, and finding a good doctor is worth their weight in gold.
His sister, Robin, and his twin brother, Gene, work in the frames and lenses side and all three do admin; they are a good team. I look forward to picking up my glasses.

I went to see Dr Hoffman, well because my girlfriend has been going to him for years… but besides that I had some strange stuff going on. Turns out I was having a ocular migraine. Never heard of such a thing.
So everything worked out great, They accepted my health insurance for the medical exam as health insurance doesn’t usually cover vision. This was actually something I asked about before going in.
I would trust Dr Hoffman to be my optometrist.
