Expensive and mediocre. What else is there to say? I was unimpressed as it was exactly as depicted and be taste was on point: bland. Ruby’s again? Nope.

One of my favorite burger joint. Burgers can be customized and there is refillable fries! Their garlic fries are the best! Well worth eating here if you want to eat burger and fries. I preferably love turkey burgers on wheat. :)

First i would like to say this was our first visit at Ruby’s and it was amazing. The service, food, and vibe of the place is all a perfect 10. The manager who was working tonight provides superb customer service and will be the reason I come back. I didn’t catch her name but she was a young blonde woman. She showed excellent managerial skills. Now the food came out fresh and hot and the fries are refillable. Yummy. Plus the restaurant was extremely well kept and clean. Thank you to the manager who has given us the best dining experience we have had.

#fail. Normally I love eating at Ruby’s Diner, but this location was a major #fail. My french fries were over fried. They seemed to be the unwanted fries of an old batch. And my hamburger bun looked like someone sat on it. I wanted a hamburger with a hamburger bun like the photo on the menu, not a bun that looked like flatbread. The only thing that was good was my pickle. The waitress was mediocre and we all know mediocre means not good enough. Try try again.

Horrible service tonight. Our order was messed up, the waitress took it back & brought it back wring again. Everyone else finished dinner long before it was fixed. Our waitress never came back to apologize or to fill any drinks. It still was wrong the third time but she ate it anyway so we could leave. The manger tried to straighten it out but no one was on their game tonight.

Went to this location for breakfast at 830 this morning. It was colder inside the restaurant than outside. Older customers were wrapped up in their hats and gloves like it was the northeast. The server greeted us from the register with a curt morning without even looking up. I asked about why it was so cold, but no response, After being seated another server came to the table and took drink orders. He seemed a little ticked off that we were not ready to order and said he would come back. Well, he never came back, for our order or with our drinks. The place was less than half full, maybe management didn’t staff enough servers. We saw that customers that arrived after us had been served their drinks. As we walked out of the place, the original server who seated us told us goodbye, but didn’t seemed surprised that we were leaving or ask us why. We drove a few miles to Seal Beach where we had breakfast at the Blackboard Café on Pacific Coast Highway. Service was great, the place was warm, the prices were lower than Rubys and the food was great.

Came here yesterday for their b-day special. We arrived around 2:30pm and waited around 10 mins for a table. We each got the $ 1.99 cheese burger special. Normally is $ 8.99 a burger. I also got a Oreo milkshake for $ 5.99. YES! Isn’t that crazy for a milkshake. Everything came out quickly after we ordered. The burger was good. It was juicy and the lettuce was fresher than in & out. The Oreo milkshake was thick and enough to share. Service was good considering they were having a busy day for the burger special. Plenty of parking in the shopping center off PCH.

Used to be our«go to» restaurant, but several popular menu items such as the Spicy Jalapeño Cheese Sticks, Meatloaf, and Turkey Salad have been removed from the menu and are no longer available. We’re talking quality food that kept us and many other fans coming back for more. So… on our last visit(in lieu of our beloved Spicy Jalapeño Cheese Sticks), we tried a new appetizer offered. The«Irish Nachos». OHNO. There is no comparison. Fried potatoes smothered with sour cream, green onions, and canned hash on top. Really? This is what has taken the place of a constantly requested menu item? Don’t order unless you like this sort of thing. It was gross. I’m so shocked. Never had anything from Ruby’s that we didn’t love. Needless to say Ruby’s is no longer our go to. However to be fair, it does remain THE place to get delicious burgers that feature diner style home made taste and heavenly soda fountain shakes like no other. We’ve been to several locations and the service/food is always above average(not counting the aforementioned irish nachos).

Came here with my friend. Not too impressed. Denver omelet had seriously burnt ham intermixed with properly cooked ham. This tells me that the cook didn’t clean the cooking area. Also, the potatoes were not at all cook. They were legitimately white. This is likely from a good amount being fried at one time and the basket not being shaken enough. In their defense, came here on a Sunday. Maybe they were busy.

I had the opportunity to use $ 20 gift cards here from a Unilocal Event in Anaheim’s Ruby’s Diner Franchise location. Now, this was my second visit to this location, so my expectations were the same, but I kept an open mind. Nichole was a real help upon my arrival, she not only quickly greeted me, but she verified the amounts on the gift cards(two $ 10 gift cards-some gift cards expire over time) too. She brought me BOTH the Breakfast & Lunch menus after asking me if that was okay-Manners a plus right here! Cutting to the update chase, I ordered the Cobb Burger with endless French Fires & a Double Vanilla Shake: *THE COBB-Prepared well & tasty: Topped with thick-cut bacon, melted Bleu cheese, fresh avocado, crisp lettuce, tomato and sun-dried tomato mayo-$ 11.99 *Double Vanilla Shake: Very Vanilla, made fresh in a Milkshake stainless steel container with some left to spare, with the cherry I lost years ago on top!-$ 5.99. Safe to say, I truly am a fan, and this fits the bill when I really want some ambiance & good grub. Anytime is a good time if that is you situation, or, you just want to treat yourself to some great shakes & more. *Nicely done Ruby’s’ Diner, a Unilocal Check-In discount of 10% which Jeanne the shift manager told me to save for another visit-Professionalism-A + here! Ruby’s Diner, you are a tummy filled song in my hungry heart:

We often visit Ruby’s when they have those anniversary burger and fries combo for around $ 2. Yes the lines are long, I mean really long! It loops around the building and the last time it was almost a 2 hour wait. So why would they get 5 stars? Well, they’re very personable here. All the staff are present on this special anniversary day. They will bring sample shakes out for the people in line, reducing what I call waiting aggression and it works! The burgers and fries are done correctly here. Slight char on the bun and the burger while the fries are slightly crunchy on the outside and creamy on the inside. Even if you substitute for the sweet potato fries, they’re quite good too! The shakes here, made out of real ice cream is exactly what you would expect from a diner. Sinfully creamy and topped with more calorie driven whip cream. I’ve had other items from other Ruby’s and I have to say this location is my favorite even though it’s not the closest location to me. Parking is a little bit of a pain because CPK and Trader Joes and all the other shops in the plaza are all here. It’s not impossible to find a spot but if you know the plaza well, you can find parking on the other side and just walk straight through the plaza.

Came here to grab dinner with my brother, because we had 2 gift cards from the Unilocal elite event that we had gone to earlier in the summer! Basically I got the Ranch burger, which is a burger that they stuff with a ton of ranch! For those of you who don’t already know, I love ranch! I don’t know why… But I just really really love ranch. Good thing about Ruby’s is that they have unlimited fries, so that’s good in my book(It’s kind of like Red Robin’s)! When our burgers came out, I couldn’t believe how big it was! It was 1⁄3 pound of meat! Which is a lot of meat even for me. And plus I had sushi earlier during that day. So I wasn’t able to finish my entire burger. Good thing that they let you take your food home! Our server was awesome! Very nice, friendly, and good at getting our stuff to us quickly! Would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants sometime easy and simple to eat!

Came here for ruby’s 93rd birthday celebration. They offered the classic rubyburger with fries for only $ 1.93, what a great deal! One burger per person though so people don’t go crazy, pretty fair or else people will be there forever. Of course all great deals come with a down side, that down side is the WAIT! Everyone wants to get in on the deal. Fortunately, the wait wasn’t too bad. For 6 people we waited about 45 minutes. Smaller parties got in quicker of course. Everyone was literally ordering cheeseburgers and leaving within 30 minutes, so the wait wasn’t too bad. The rubybuger was like any other burger you would get at a diner. I wasn’t expecting much and since I was hungry the burger was pretty tasty. The fries were thin and crispy which I loved. They give you a pretty big burger and a generous portion of fries for $ 1.93, I was not disappointed! We also ordered their shakes. I got to try the chocolate banana and orange 50⁄50 the chocolate banana was literally a chocolate shake with a banana and the orange 50⁄50 was basically half orange half vanilla, like a orange creamsicle. I preferred the chocolate banana over the orange 50⁄50. What I do love is that they give you the leftover milkshake in a different cup. So you basically get two milkshakes, definitely share the milkshakes. Service wasn’t too bad even though they were busy, our server attended to us when we needed her and she assured us that our food/drinks were coming soon while we were waiting. I don’t think I’ll come here on an ordinary day just to eat because it’s just another diner. I will definitely be coming back for ruby’s 94th birthday celebration, hehe.

Get the urge to come here once a year. Have never had a bad experience here. Had the Mediterranan salad. Good… Asked for extra vinegar dressing and it was yummy. Appreciate the depitted olives. Had garlic fries with ranch. Garlic fries were yummy. The ranch didn’t seem to be as tasty as usual. Vanilla shake(which wasn’t mine but I snuck a taste of) was creamy and yummy. Server was nice, attentive and had a great smile.

Of course weekends are packed and busy but the customer service didn’t change and our food was excellent! Seated very quickly, got our order in fast, and the food came out perfect timed and hot and just how I asked for it. My favorites were their French fries and their chocolate shakes!!!

It gets 5 stars, because there was absolutely nothing wrong with the food, or the service. Got their new ½ pound bacon bleu burger, fries, iced tea, and a chocolate shake. *The burger: Cooked medium; juicy; well seasoned; & on a special bun. It also had fresh cut avocados, lettuce, tomatoes, mayo, and a sliced pickle on the side. *Fries: Not stale. *Iced Tea: Fresh brewed. *Chocolate shake: This competes with In & Out. So it’s up-to-par in my book. *Service: Excellent. The server checks up on me every now and then If I need anything. *Total bill + tip: $ 25.00 Overall Experience: Will come back to this location. It should receive more stars for such an iconic diner.

Shades of Erte gone nautique! I love the art deco style. I love the Queen Mary. Put two and two together and you have something akin to this Ruby’s. Chock full of kitschy period art and furniture, one can feast the eyes on the days of Long Beach glory in the sun and surf. See the black and white photos of dozens of people frolicking in the breakers rolling into shore past the Cyclone and up onto the sandy beach. Days long gone. The surf has been replaced with a barrier wall and no longer can bathers frolic in the waves but must be content with baking on hot sand next to a salty lake. Or go south to Seal Beach or Huntington(as most people do). But the food is fine, served with ample portions for a modest price by friendly serving staff and a manager that checks to make sure all is well. They even have a full bar. All IS well except I miss the glory days. Some say these days are gone forever. I like to think that the best days are yet ahead. You can get involved too by joining the Long Beach Surfrider( ) with one of their programs dedicated to restoring some wave and tidal flow back into our stagnant waters, back to a healthy beach environment, back to the glory days just like these old photos document. Our new mayor, Robert Garcia, has promised his support and some day, maybe, these old photos will be replaced with new ones of us. Hey, it can happen. The Berlin Wall fell. P. S., I’m not into religiosity, but the number of this beastly review is 666. Also, who could refuse a Bloody Mary at this time?

This place is cute. It does have the old time feel, well sort of. We ordered the Super burger and the Mushroom burger. Both burgers lack some flavor in the meat area. The mushrooms could have been sautéed with some salt at least. The super burger was better than the mushroom burger, just because it had other ingredients that gave it flavor. I did enjoy the sourdough bread and the avocado. That made the burger tastier. Service: was pretty good. Our waiter checked up on us every once in a while and that was nice.
