I’ve gotten my hair cut at Shear Pleasure 3 times in the past and decided to try this place for a color. Big mistake. I was highly disappointed in how my hair turned out after my appointment with Jacquei B. I scheduled for a cut and color, and when I had been seated, I immediately showed her several photos (probably about 5 – 7) of what I was aiming for — a medium length lob cut and subtle ashy brown highlights. I don’t get my hair done too often so I leave it up to the professionals for their expertise. After blow-​drying and styling my hair, I was fairly satisfied with the cut, but EXTREMELY disappointed in the color. Turned out brassy orange/​brown — a color which I SO desperately try to avoid. I I expressed my concern about the color to Jacquei and she stated that since I have dark hair, it will naturally give off a warm tone. She gave me some options, but it would require another day, more time and more money to accomplish what I wanted. It should have been made clear to me BEFORE the whole process was done that the color I wanted couldn’t be achieved that day. Instead, she offered me her card and said that I could schedule another appointment to go lighter. TBH, I wouldn’t go back here even if she offered to fix my hair for free.

I’ve gotten my hair done here every time I come back from college breaks in the past year and absolutely love it! Last week I went to get a lighter balayage by Natasha and she did an amazing job! I’ve never been so satisfied with my hair and completely recommend Shear Pleasure! They have great service and are not difficult to book an appointment.

Jacquei did my hair extension! I absolutely love how it looks. She was friendly and professional. I definitely go back there and become their regular ;-) thanks guys.

I don’t trust a lot of people with my hair, but since I can no longer see my previous stylist I came to shear pleasure. I walked in, and that’s how I met NATASHA. :) She is awesome! My hair was in desperate need of a haircut, my ends were so damaged. She only cut what she needed to off the length, cause I like my hair long. She Brought my layers back to life, and dusted my hair. My hair feels and looks amazing! I love my haircut!

This review is long overdue. I like keeping my hair long and layered, and rarely get my hair cut. Sometime last year I went to a local salon and asked for layers, but to keep most of the length. The hair dresser at one point said «oops, what did I do here.?» And I ended up with shorter hair, no layers, and one side was a whole inch longer than the other. So you can imagine my hesitation when looking for someone new to cut my hair. Lucky for me, I found Ashley at shear pleasure, and not only did she acknowledge the minor tragedy that was my haircut, she knew exactly what my hair needed and gave me the cut I had been hoping for all along. She’s funny, sweet, and truly seems to be the most knowledgeable and experienced hairdresser that I’ve ever had. Everyone is polite and welcoming at shear pleasure and Ashley is the only person I let cut my hair now. Go get an appointment with her!

Britt did my hair! She is super nice and sweet girl. I was a little worried right after I left the salon, but I’m warming up to it. She also colored my hair and it looks fabulous! Recommend!

Finding a new hairstylist can be nerve-​wracking. After my hairstylist of 4 years moved away, Unilocal led me to Natasha at Shear Pleasure. I just left and could not be happier! The salon was beautiful, great location, and Natasha listened to everything I wanted. I would recommend to anyone and will definitely be back!

Jill is absolutely wonderful! I moved here from the east coast and tried so many different salons that I was not happy with. Not only did we immediately bond as she is a fellow east coaster, she made my hair look amazing! She understood exactly what look I was going for and made it a reality. I’ve been going to Jill for about a year and a half now and I completely trust her with any change I’m looking to make to my hair. She took this brunette to platinum blonde, and I was amazed how natural she made it look! I have recommended her to every person that has asked about my hair and will continue to send people her way. She’s really amazing! Check her out!

I came to the place because of the great reviews, and I’m happy to add one more. Jill was my hair stylist and I felt like I was talking to a gf the entire time. I wasn’t quite sure what I wanted but she was able to help me figure it out and help keep it looking natural. I was always afraid to do an ombré or bayalage bc of bad hair dyes I’ve seen, and one I have gotten. I loved what she didn’t and she kept me laughing the entire time. I will definitely be back for touch ups and sending people her way. Thanks jill!

She’s so good. She brought some depth back into overly highlighted hair.
Beyond that, she has a terrific sense of humor, she’s super bright, and she’s just plain friendly.
My hair looks better than it has in years, and I’m crossing my fingers she doesn’t ever move!
Totally reasonable prices, and the front desk staff is always super nice.

I’m so disappointed with Natasha, the first time she charged me $ 35 for coloring just 2 red highlight by my face contour! the color was gone in a week but still I when back for retouched the fade it color! She over charged me $ 70 for the same work! I complained about the red color wasn’t the same color on the right side! Then she got mad and told me that is not her fault! it’s my hair fault doesn’t get the right color!!! And also told me: «I don’t want to attended you again for that reason! «Unbelievable this is the first time I got ripoff with the over charge and plus bad attitude from her I never going back again that include my friends too!!!

I had just moved to Long Beach and was looking for a new hair stylist. My boyfriend likes this place so I tried it. I just set an appt with whoever and they put me with Natasha.
LADIES!!! You know how you say you ONLY WANT A TINYYYY TRIM and they always cut off 2 inches and you never understand why and are pissed??? Well I told Natasha this same thing and she ACTUALLY cut off next to nothing. She even left my hair dry so she could more easily tell what parts HAD to be cut due to damage so that she didn’t cut off anything that was unnecessary. I left feeling like my hair was no shorter but just looked healthier. And it took no time at all because she had left it dry. BEST hair cut I’ve ever had. I think it was $ 30 before the tip, which is much less expensive than the haircuts I’m used to. I will definitely return!

I am so happy with the service i got at Shear Pleasure. I called around noon and was able to get an appointment the same day at 330. When I came in I was offered a drink right away– they have wine, beer, coffee and soft drinks!
The real reason I’m writing this review is to say how amazing Jill is! I came in to get a teal/​blue dip dye on my extremely dark hair– I wasn’t sure if the color would come out since my hair is so dark but Jill reassured me that it would work and we started on the process. I also told Jill that I was nervous about doing the dye because its pretty unconventional and bold. She talked me through it and convinced me that it would be so worth it and made me feel awesome about my decision.
Anyway I showed her some pictures of the color I wanted and the dye she mixed up came out perfectly!!! It was a combination of teal and aquamarine and the bleach job she did totally worked because the color totally took and my hair looks awesome!!! Usually when I goto a hair salon and show the stylist a picture of what I want, I get something similar but not quite right. This was the first time I walked out of a hair salon with my hair looking perfect!!!
Jill is the best and I highly highly recommend her for any dye job!
*as an afterthought the price is reasonable too !!! I paid $ 125 for the dye job and added tip of course.

Jacquei was our stylist today for myself and my daughter. We both have REALLY short hair already and wanted shorter. Most stylists are afraid to take clippers to a 10 year old girl’s hair so we’ve never gotten quite what we’ve wanted. Jacquei listened and did just that. Even went back over my daughter’s hair when she said to go shorter. (She left it at a 2 clip) my daughter hasn’t left a salon in love with her hair up until now. It’s exactly what she asked for.
My hair came out exactly as I asked as well. It couldn’t have been a better experience. We’ll be going back to her for sure. She’s friendly, precise with her work and she LISTENS and isn’t afraid to use clippers! :))

Fantastic cut & customer service. Myself, husband, & young daughters all come here and the stylists keep us all happy! Even when I’m not quite sure what I want– they help me figure it out & deliver great results– from highlights, to pixie cuts, to little girls styles, you name it– they can do it well!
The location is fantastic as also – get your nails done next door, shop, eat & be merry all along 2^nd street :) I highly recommend Shear Pleasure!

AWFUL! The stylist RIPPED my hair extension out from a blowout, the picture shows the damage done. The owner of the salon tells me that’s what I get for having tape in extensions. She’s been doing hair for «32 years» and I should go back to the woman who installed them.
My extensions were in for no more then 1 day, ONE, and installed perfectly. I was coming in from out of town found SP on Unilocal and decided to book a blow out before boarding a cruise ship. I wanted my hair to look fresh.
The damaged cause by the shear pleasure stylist shows she had NO IDEA what she was doing when handling the extensions. Pulling so hard that my head was aching, only to come out with a decent curl. The «stylist» didn’t blend my extensions with my natural hair at all, and it was totally noticeable.
She also wasn’t prepared time wise to «deal with extensions» so the whole experience was rushed and unpleasant. Hense the harsh brush strokes causing the hair to rip out. Like COME ON, TELL ME U DONT HAVE THE TIME AND I’LL DO IT MY DAMN SELF.
I was boarding a cruise in 2 hours that day, So I figured I would handle it when I got home. Called the salon, told the person who answered (pretty sure the girl who did my hair) what had happened. Said I would send a pic and could recognize the name if she said it… needless to say she didn’t want either… not important.
The owner was pathetic, just stating over and over how there’s no refunds and that she’s «sorry» about my terrible experience, and to pretty much just shove it… AWFUL customer service, I would hate to have to work in this salon. Unprofessionalism from head to toe, it was like having a conversation with a two year old.
Moral of the story, save your hard earned pennies and do more research. Don’t waste your time with this horrible estalishment, and the embarrassment of a crap hair job. Blehhhh such a bad experience mostly with the owner. She needs to grow up.

I was amazed at how many great reviews this place has, specifically for B.R. Of course I chose her to cut my hair based on the reviews. Now I know why a haircut is only $ 30. B.R. washed my hair, massaged my head which was nice, but I could see her face in the mirror and I’ve never seen someone who looked so bored and unfocused. When we finished, I explained the hair cut I wanted, and she proceeded to chop at my hair. She definitely got all my split ends off, but I had been talking the whole time about how I wanted long hair, but she chopped it off. It was so short and choppy, and the layers were just so random. My hair looked like a broom. I also asked her to cut bangs and she took like 10 strands and chopped those off.
Anyway, I went the next day to someone else in Tustin who said she had never seen a haircut so bad. She spent an hour and a half fixing this haircut, and I could t be happier with the outcome. I will never go back to shear pleasure and do not recommend that you choose B.R., if you decide to go here.

3 weeks before the biggest day of my life, I came to «Shear Pleasure» with my Fiancé (now, Husband) to have his hair cut. Jill was his hairstylist that day and I made an appointment with Jill to do my hair on my wedding day.
When l got home, I started to search high and low about the hair style I wanted. On the day of my wedding, I showed the photo to Jill. I have to admit that I was a little bit skeptical at first because I picked the most complicated hair-​do there is. Jill really listened to my requests and told me that she could do it. She was friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and made me feel at ease, comfortable and welcomed.
I loved my hair-​do and so as everyone at the wedding. I got so many complements about my hair, and I told every girl about Jill who works at Share Pleasure. She is truly a hair style master.

I recently moved to the Long Beach area and was very nervous about getting my hair cut. I hadn’t had a hair cut in three years and wanted to get a lot of hair cut off to donate. I ended up cutting 18 inches off and Brittney did an amazing job! Definitely recommend!

Let me start with saying that I haven’t written any Unilocal reviews, but after having such an incredible experience here, I figured it was about time! I called Shear Pleasure on a Friday morning to schedule an appointment and to my luck, they said they could take me later in the afternoon. When I arrived, I couldn’t help but notice how nice the place was and how all the sylists and clients seemed to be enjoying themselves.
Ashley was my stylist and after showing her some pictures of what I wanted, we both realized it was going to be a complete makeover and we were both equally excited! I have naturally jet-​black hair and I wanted to be a medium brown with some balayage highlights. I was at the salon for a couple hours, but the time seemed to pass quickly since Ashley was so friendly and personable.
When the time came to see the final outcome, I was speechless! I was in love with the haircut so much that I got a little teary (which I hate to admit)! I could only only equate the feeling to one of those cliché movie makeovers scenes that make your jaw drop, make you wide-​eyed, and make you think «WHOAAAAA!!!» because that’s honestly how I really felt!
So to finish, if you’re looking for a new stylist and are unsure of where to go, I would HIGHLY recommend seeing Ashley T. at Shear Pleasure! My experience here was nothing less than perfect!
