I met up with Ryan P and Shawna C for a late lunch on Saturday and this was da spot! Also my first time here since it became Simmzy’s. SERVICE: As we walked up I could see the place was really busy. Expecting to wait for a table, I asked«Is this where we write our name down?» but the answer was«No» and we were seated immediately, schweet! Our server Mackenzie was very nice, friendly, attentive and checked on us frequently. Plus she was just 3 weeks away from giving birth! CONGRATS on the upcoming new baby! FOOD: We started with Brussels sprouts and blue cheese fries, then moved on to tortilla soup, grilled shrimp salad and fish tacos. Caramelized Brussels Sprouts: butter, garlic, lemon, anchovies, capers & piece of crispy bread — $ 9.50. I love Brussels sprouts, but wasn’t fond of these. Capers and lemon juice added an acidity I didn’t like and the more I ate, the less I enjoyed them. Blue Cheese Haystack: Shoestring fries, blue cheese dressing & spicy sauce — $ 7.25. These were VERY tasty! However I have to ask… is the addition of some blue cheese dressing and a little hot sauce worth adding nearly $ 4 to an order of fries? I’d have to say no. Chicken tortilla soup: avocado, queso fresco, tortilla strips, cilantro — $ 8.25 Good as tortilla soup goes, but didn’t make me want to stand up and sing it’s praises to the world. It didn’t have the complexity of flavors other tortilla soups have. Shrimp, citrus & avocado salad: grilled shrimp — $ 14.75 Very tasty grilled shrimp with some sort of smoky salt(?) added. Otherwise I was told the rest of the salad was very good. Grilled fish tacos — $ 11.75 Except for the battered and fried slices of chili pepper, I’m told the fish tacos where very good. OVERALL: A fun, hip, casual environment on 2nd St with very good food and service. Prices are a bit high, however. I’ll chalk it up to the high rent district of Belmont Shores where it’s located. Speaking of Belmore Shores, it’s a great place to walk around before or after your meal, but parking can be a challenge, as you may already know.

Best bar food around! Burgers are killer and every appetizer and dessert is a come back again to eat dish. Service is friendly. Place is packed so expect to wait for a table during sports game days. Selection of beers is vast… alcohol available here is only beer and wine.

Took us about 30 minute to get seated but not bad. Great IPA. I had the Thai Turkey burger and the slaw was made great and the quality was on point. I ordered the chicken wings and WOW. The sauce was ONPOINT. It was so good I asked for more and had it with my fries and burger. Wings were expensive though. 5 – 6 pieces for $ 12 + tax. Will come again!

Simmzy’s on the corner of 2nd street seems to be the loud and happening place in Belmont Shore:) I came hungry and had the caramelized brussel sprouts that were cooked to perfection with capers and topped on a slice of buttered bread; the 15 minute wings well worth the wait with a sauce that was so good that I used the crust from my pizza to sop it all up; and the lamb sausage pizza was a delicious thin crust woodfire pizza that tasted like a gyro exploded onto a pizza. We were so stuffed that we couldn’t possibly get dessert. Shout out to the staff and Abe Lee, the manager, for excellent food, service, and clean bathrooms! Thanks to Simmzy’s for being well worth the wait:)

3.5! You get a lot of wind and sunshine when you dine in this restaurant because it’s an open space. It gets pretty busy on the weekends so be prepared to wait in line. I got their Bacon Blue Deluxe — medium rare with sweet potato fries on the side. So I expected strong flavors from the blue cheese but I actually didn’t taste that much of it. Also, the buns weren’t that great either — I guess I prefer softer bread? My favorite part of my meal was actually the fries and the good selection of beer. There are meter parkings but I suggest finding free street parking in nearby neighborhood, especially if you’re going to barhop after(and why wouldn’t you want to?).

In celebration of National Donut Day, I couldn’t resist ordering the Apple a la mode Donut dessert… Oh fellow Unilocalers SOOFFTHEHOOK&MUSTDO!!! Another dish to DIE for were their Brussel Sprouts. According to a good friend who happens to live a few blocks away, these are the brussel sprouts to end all brussel sprouts & this guy doesn’t typically like them!!! I am happy to report that my new brussel sprout baseline is now @ Simmzy’s!!! They are perfectly carmalized with an unbelievable caper, garlic sauce. These delectable treats are presented on a piece of toasted bread. Our table ordered an extra slice just so that we could both enjoy soaking up the sauce… YUMMMMMMMMMM-O!!! Special shoutout of gratitude to Gus, Abe & Claudette for making my first visit here AWESOME!!! Your hospitality along with food & beverage suggestions were spot ON… THANK U!!! I will most definitely be back :)

Popular gastropub with a red bus façade hanging from the wall. I think Simmzy’s is popular because it’s popular, because I don’t particularly rate it above the quiet Shore House across the street, but yet Simmzy’s is reliably simmering with crowds. Yes, there is a lot of beer to choose from, but in 2016 in Long Beach, that’s just okay. Prices are higher here, which makes sense given the law of supply and demand. I was not impressed by the wings, the pork sandwich, or the service. I don’t mean to imply that Simmzy’s does anything wrong – it’s A-OK.

Came down to second street the other night looking for some good food. So many of the places looked and smelled so good it was hard to choose… End up coming here to Simmzy’s after seeing a near full capacity dining area. Didn’t really want to be in a loud busy dining area however I figured if it is that busy it must be good! The hostess was able to seat us immediately(party of 2) when we arrived. There were only two tables left available. Our waiter came and took our drink order immediately as well. Everything on the menu looked so good it was hard to make up my mind on what I wanted to order… They have a good selection for both carnivores and herbivores! They also have a nice selection of beer too! We ended up ordering one Argula fold or pizza, Sammy on Rye sandwich and the grilled street corn appetizer… The Sammy on Rye was delicious! the purple cabbage gives a really nice texture/crunch, the cucumbers add a subtle fresh taste to the sandwich, and the salmon is cooked to perfection — juice with well seasoned flavor. The Arugula oldover was also very good, a lot of food! very fresh… The street corn is a great selection as far as the appetizers go *WARNING* It can be a bit messy! When you bite down and the corn kernels pop — delicious yet potentially messy eating… hahaha well worth it Overall this was a great tasting meal! Our waiter was on top of his game and friendly. Only downside was this place is a bit cramped with tables very close together and due to the fact that they are busy is also really noisy. In the end… I will be returning in the future for more delicious food!

This place is great! I came here for the pizza. I got the«MSG»(mushrooms, sausage, garlic). Delicious! My husband got the Bacon Blue Deluxe, which was also really good. For dessert, we got the Apple-Filled Doughnut. OMGSOGOOD! It came with ice cream. I love the chill, relaxed ambiance of this place. We came at around 1pm, so we beat the big lunch rush. It was a nice day out, so all the windows were open. It gave a nice open space with a nice breeze from the outside. They had TVs, too, so my husband got to watch his sports. Lol. The service was great, too! We got free refills on our iced teas, and our waitress was very sweet. It’s family friendly, too. I brought my 4-month old baby, and I got to nurse her. They offered a high-chair, but we didn’t need it. There was another family that brought their baby, and I thought that was cool. Great place! No complaints at all. I’d definitely come here again.

I heard about this place from friends and fam & decided to try it out. I had lunch here w one of my girlfriends & the ambiance and set up of this restaurant is pretty cool. It’s something different but I liked it a lot. Their food is avg. priced /a little on the higher side. I’d probably come back! Parking — find street parking and just walk over Workers — our waiter was very nice and helpful Environment/Ambiance — very cool, chill and beachy! It’s almost an outdoor restaurant but just enough coverage for it to feel like a unique restaurant.(Might be very cold at night though)

After reading the reviews on Unilocal for Simmzy’s, I really thought it would be a place I would enjoy – I love craft beer and the crowd and lighting looked cool, but sadly I was wrong. This is NOT A GOODPLACEFOR A FIRSTDATE. First off(and like other reviewers have said) it’s LOUD. I had to shout and then listen very closely because the restaurant acoustics were so bad. But, I sort of get it. It’s a communal type place with a big picnic table in the middle, crammed with two and four top tables. It’s actually so crammed that if you talk with your hands or accidentally stick your elbow out, the wait staff runs right into you. We were sat almost immediately which was nice on a Friday night at 7:30pm, but then we waited at least ten minutes until our server even acknowledged us. We ordered two waters and two beers and one of the water glasses had a huge piece of someone’s old food on it. Mmm… Nothing makes me more confident in a restaurant being clean like a big blob of something brown and nasty on the side of my water glass. How this was not seen by our server before it arrived at our table was absolutely beyond me. We ordered the wings and margarita pizza. We were given silverware before our food arrived – and guess what? It was also filthy. My fork had someone else’s crusted food all over it – and again the server didn’t notice before setting it down on the table?! I had to flag her down AGAIN because she first expected me to drink from a dirty glass and now I was expected to use a dirty fork. So instead of just enjoying the dining experience and getting to know my date, I was searching for the waitress to bring me a clean glass and silverware. Why does this need to be asked for? Your servers need to check the silver and glassware BEFORE it hits the table. It absolutely ruins the experience if your guests are forced to have to look after insuring clean glassware and silverware. I mean, that’s ridiculous. By the time the food arrived, I had lost my appetite. I didn’t trust that the food was clean and well prepared. And how could I? The wings were fatty, undercooked and served drenched in a stinky Marsala-type sauce. The margarita pizza smelled terrible, like the cheese had sat out too long before being sprinkled on the pizza. Then after about twenty minutes, I had terrible stomach problems that lasted for the rest of the night. Simmzy’s, I was really excited to give you a chance, but everything but the beer was terrible. If you truly expect people to ever come back – clean up your act! There’s never an excuse for dirty glasses, silverware, old ingredients, and undercooked chicken. Disgusting.

It was a great experience, even though it was a very busy Saturday. The dinning room is a bit cramped but manageable, just feel for the servers who squeeze through, but they still gave us great service. The food was great and the portion sizes were big. The drink selection was extensive as is becoming expected of lots of places, they don’t disappointed. We took our 7 and 8 year old kids who loved it and the food. They will definitely be getting more visits from us.

Its been at least 3 years since I’ve been to Simmzy’s in Long Beach, but on this trip down memory lane I’m glad to see that this great«gastropub» has not lost its lustre. I was down here for drinks with friends and just managed to squeeze on in here before last call. We sat at the bar underneath the chalkboard displaying their extensive beer selection. Up to date and present with the new Gose trend, they included plenty of options from local breweries. Ever changing, I would recommend any beer drinker to come down here frequently to try whats on tap. Parking: Local street parking and lots nearby.

Finally got a chance to visit Simmzy’s for my best friend’s bday & also Dine LBC. & in short it was great! Let’s talk about the food! I had their $ 30 a person menu for Dine LBC. 1st Course: Caramelized Brussel Sprouts = super delicious, lemony and sweet inside. There’s bread under the Brussel sprouts to soak up the flavors. 2nd Course: Grilled Flank Steak = best steak I had in a while! Sauce was good there’s bacon &potatoes on the side! Looks small, but is filling. [not on regular menu, just a steak salad?] 3rd Course: On menu was supposed to be S’mores Pudding w/graham cracker crumbles but instead got two peanut butter cookies on top. Basically ended up being a deconstructed snickers bar lol. Sweet and good. Overall we had a good experience, the manager and sever was really nice & friendly. I would say tho it’s a loud restaurant & pretty popular. It’s so loud you can’t talk to the person next to you or make an order. But that’s part of the fun, busy vibe I guess haha. I enjoyed the food lol, & for the dine LBC w/the 3 course meal, tip & tax I paid $ 39. It was worth it. :) Unilocal 100: Entry #1

The shrimp, citrus & avocado salad is amazing. If I didn’t work tomorrow I would get it again for lunch. It was recommended to me by our server, Stephanie who was just the nicest! My son and his friend got the pizza and kids chicken tenders, both of which were huge portions! And if I wasn’t being a responsible parent tonight I would have definitely gotten something off of their stellar beer menu. The bathroom situation kind of sucks, and the kids food although large portions was just okay tasting. They do give the kids wiki stix which I’m pretty sure they cared about more anyway. My food was delicious, service was amazing(thank you!)

This place is great! Came here based solely on their Unilocal reviews and helpful pictures of the food they serve. They have a big selection of draft beer, great view and the inside is designed very well. We got several apps. and shared a pizza. Each of the dishes were very good. Stuffed jalapenos were different but that’s what made em so good. Lamb pizza was soo good. We will definitely come back when we are on Second St next time. Its hard to pick where to eat around here because its all so damn good.

Simmzy’s is located on 2nd st. in beautiful Belmont shore. This cool hipster eatery has a cool and casual yet sophisticated atmosphere. It’s a great place to stay for a nice dinner or just enjoy a couple the great microbrews. 36 beers serious brews on tap tells me that they aim to please even the most discerning beer pallet. The same goes for the food. Pizza is one of their specialties here with selections like lamb sausage pizza, The MSG(mushroom, sausage, garlic) and the Bacon date pizza just to name a couple. The burgers are pretty damn good too. Blue bacon Berger. Ohhh… yes please! We also ordered the Haystack Blue cheese fries and it was frick’n evil good! Jordan our server was also great and as everyone knows, the dinning experience is so much better when you get service with a smile. Thanks Jordan. Acoustic ales Hop was to the danger zone. 10%. Oh Snap! Yes, 10%! It was damn good too. IPS’s are great but this one took it to the next level… BOOM!

Simmzy’s on 2nd in Long Beach is an awesome spot to grab some wings, fries, burgers and wash it all down with a few cold beers! It can get quite packed up in here during prime time so plan accordingly! I came when it was a bit on the slow end which is nice for a quick fix with a beer while still be able to have a conversation without having to speak extra loud. This place is located right on the street corner and there’s a few metered parking spots adjacent to the establishment or you can park further in the neighborhood which one again plan accordingly to the rush hours! As for the food goes, I got to try the bacon blue burger, some fries, the fish tacos, and a couple beers. The burger was cooked to order and was one of the juicier ones I’ve had as of late. My favorite part is the melted cheese, I honestly can’t stress enough how important properly melted cheese is for a burger! The fries were typical, I should have opted for the 15 minute wings instead. As for the fish tacos, they were okay. I’m not to find of them to begin with but the combo that the tacos come with was pretty good. It comes with a soup and a salad and I thought those were pretty good. Lastly you got the beers. with so many options on tap, you’d have to take a few visits to try them all but don’t hesitate to ask for a recommendation as well as checking out their top list!
