This place is awesome, it is a home kinda feeling, true to craft and awesomeness I love it. The owner has everything local which is awesome. I definitely recommend locals to stop by and even if you’re not local, still come by it is unique. Local is the way to go!

I love this place! It is a great place to experience new beers. I love how Patrick puts so much thought into the flights. We have spent hours in there having conversations about the beer and how it’s made and the history. Every time I go in there it is a different experience.

Just moved into the area but Patrick has an amazing selection! There is a great vibe to his place and he is such a pleasure to talk to about life and beer! Lol. My kind of dude. If you live in area please support local business as he is one of kind and has a special place here.

This place is amazing. We go almost every weekend (sometimes twice) if not every other week for a flight or bottle. We love that you can pick out a bottle and enjoy it in their tasting area. Patrick and Dawn, the owners, are awesome. We always learn something new about beer during our visits.

I just moved to the area last weekend and after looking at the very helpful website that lists all the beers that they actually really have in stock I thought I better go check this place out…
I think I’ve found my new favorite beer store. No they don’t have as many beers as total wine or bevmo but that’s because they trimmed off all the fat and selected only the best beers. I hate shopping and looking all over a store for something and spending all day doing it. I’m a guy. I just want to go in grab what I came for and go hm and enjoy. This place makes it that simple with their alphabetized beer coolers.
If you love craft brew you gotta come try this place out.

Awesome independent spot with fantastic people! Patrick is super cool and is always good for a great conversation. I routinely buy more than I expect every time I go in and I always do the tasting flights.

It’s not about the selection at Stateside. It’s about getting a chance to taste all types of microbrews and finding the types you like. They change their beer tasting list monthly and he owners are great and easy to chat with. If you like a place where you can find out more about good beers and what to pair them with, Stateside is the place to go. If you go on First Friday, be prepared to wait.

Not as big of a selection as Corked which is about half a mile down Atlantic but this place is charming nonetheless.
They do have a much better selection of snacks/​condiments and offer tastings in the back. The workers are always friendly and helpful and the fact that they’re always busy is a good sign. They do seem a tad pricey and if I’m not mistaken I think I’ve actually seen certain prices go up just in the past 3 months. I haven’t reserved a tasting yet but it’s on my list and I’ll update the review then!

Review is from 01/​21/​2015 — Three of us came here Thursday night about 8:15pm (They close at 9pm) and I couldn’t be happier with my first experience here… We ordered a couple of beer flights and a single poor or a sour beer he had on tap (my new thing). Everything was amazing… Patrick took the time to walk us through each beer and answered all the questions we had about the wide variety of beers he has in stock. I’m definitely coming back (matter of fact I might go back today). Place is extremely clean and has a cool vibe to it. Thanks Patrick, from Sergio, Kelly and Jennifer.

If you’re a beer enthusiast and haven’t been here, go now! If you’re a local, go to Stateside Crafts instead of the bigger place down the street.
This place is an absolute gem. Great selection of the best local craft beers and other great breweries from around the country. Perfect little tasting room with flights to try before you buy.
Patrick, the owner, is what makes this place. He is such an easy guy to talk to. He makes the place warm and friendly. Places like his can sometimes seem kinda snooty and pretentious. Stateside is the opposite. Sure, he’ll be super beer-​geeky with people like me, but when a non beer-​drinker came in to buy a gift, he was able to shift gears and talk to the customer n their level and advise them appropriately.
This place is one of my favorite parts of moving to Long Beach. Support this place!

Great place to get your craft beer fix. Rotating flights so you actually get to try new craft brews, and the bottle shop has lots of great options you won’t be disappointed! Patrick is very knowledgeable and will get you going in the right direction if you have any questions. If you haven’t made your way here it’s a must!

Great beers on hand as well as snacks. I love this place. The staff is awesome and very knowledgeable about their beers. They also have a tasting room with rotating beers on tap. Definitely give this place a visit!

I came here just because it was refreshing to see another place in the local area that does craft beer. I am a bit of a snob when it comes to craft beer and Stateside Crafts feed that snob in me.
First of all, the ambience in the place is awesome. It is very clean and very modern without being garish or overbearing. Then, you have the people. Patrick is one of the most knowledgeable people with whom I have spoken about beer. He knows his stuff. He curates the selection of ales in his store.
I use the word ‘curate’ because there is a quite artistic collection of beers for sale. Everyone who cares about the beers they drink has that one store which has beers that rotate all time. Seasonals, special releases, limited collaborations, rare beers, etc. Stateside has these and more.
I went in the other night looking for a bottle and only then realized that they do flights. Patrick collaborates with his suppliers (which includes input from head brewers as well) on what kinds of beers will make his tasters pop. I enjoyed a Fall Seasonal flight consisting of Ballast Point Dead Ringer, Ballast Point, Pumpkin Down, Left Hand Oktoberfest, Uinta Oak Jacked Imperial Pumpkin, Farnum Hill Dooryard batch#1316, and New Belgium Le Terroir Sour. Hands down the best flight I have had anywhere. The flavors complimented each other and the New Belgium sour is the best sour I have had (which is high praise from a person who drinks sours whenever possible).
Plus, Patrick is a people-​person. He talked with us about his flight selection and gave us a list with complete brewers notes (which makes it easier to know what I am drinking in a flight, as well as enhancing my understanding of the drinking experience). I went in 15 minutes before closing and they were completely cool staying after hours and talking with me for a bit.
In addition to the great beer, they have a hearty selection of craft foods, many of which are sourced locally. Stateside is well qualified to represent the LBC.
If you’re in Long Beach looking for craft beer, you owe it to yourself to come uptown to Bixby Knolls and trying Stateside Out. Pretty soon, a brewhouse is opening next door (Dutch’s). There is plenty to look forward to out of this partnership.

Great craft beer bottle shop and tasting room. Patrick knows his beer, he hand selects each and every craft beer he sells. I highly recommend you go in to stateside and grab a flight. Talk to Patrick about beer and I guarantee that you walk out knowing more about craft beer then when you walked in…

I love this place. The owner is very friendly and gives great recommendations based on your tastes. After a trip to Flanders, I’ve been into sour ales lately, and have gotten some good American ones here at Stateside Crafts. I’m slowly making my way into hoppy Belgian style ales, so will be making a trip again soon.

Great beer selection, competitive pricing. Really nice folks work there. They sometimes have flights, first Friday for sure.
Interesting and tasty food items and designer sodas. If you haven’t been there you should.

If you’re looking for a low-​key evening filled with delicious craft beer, look no further. This is a fantastic new joint in Bixby. The owner really cares about the place and the products he sells (You can tell by the compulsive cleaning and dusting he Constantly does while also making delightful banter with the customers).
There is a tasting menu of 4 beers, generally local, that range from light to dark. The tasting menu is a reasonable $ 8. You can also taste any of the beers you buy there. There currently isn’t much food there to try, but I think its in the works. They do have some healthy snacks that you can munch on while you’re sipping on the brews, but I’m more excited about the charcuterie plates promised as coming soon!
Give this a try if you’re in the neighborhood. You won’t regret it. There really isn’t anything like this place for miles.

Nice place. The service is really good and they have a nice selection of beers that you can purchase in store. They do have a small tap system in house but it is only for tasters. No full pours which is a shame. The person on staff was extremely knowledgeable as well.
I really hope they can do full pours soon because this place would do amazingly well. I haven’t seen another place like this in Long Beach yet especially in Bixby Knolls area.
