I had some fellow rider friends that wanted to go here so we went. I don’t get what they were craving about this place. The waiter could not speak English so another young lady must have over heard my frustration in trying to order a simple Ice tea and helped me out. There is about 200 items on the menu, So I decided on something that was written on a dry erase board… I ordered the machaca and eggs and a side order of potatoes. When they brought it out I thought they were bringing out a dish for the whole table(there was 7 of us). WAY too much food and it was BLAND, I mean no flavor. I head to heap an insane amount of salsa, salt and pepper on it to choke down about an 1⁄8 of the plate. How is it that a Mexican Restaurant has no flavor on their food… so disappointed. I guess if you want cheap, bland and an insane portion size this is the place for you. The young lady that waited on us was sweet but that was all that was good about this place. I won’t be back.

I usually get food here but recently I ordered a chicken fried steak to go and i was so disgusted. I literally found 5 long strands of hair in my steak !! It was the most gross thing ever. Never again gonna come back here. I was gonna go back with my food and complain being that I just live nearby but I wasn’t even gonna waste my time. It was so disgusting ! Never again.

This place is has an extensive menu of both American and Mexican food. Service was really good fast and friendly. I ate breakfast on both visits. Portions are big and flavorful. I highly recommend, and you better be hungry. Plenty of parking available. I do prefer a Mom and Pop operation as this is.

Really sad to see the Unilocal discount doesn’t work unless you spend $ 25– which you don’t find out until after the damage has been done…

We have eaten here on numerous occasions, and the food has consistently been very good. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner, Mexican or American, they serve great tasting food in generous portions. So why only three stars? When we visited tonight, after we sat down, ordered our drinks, and were looking over our menus, the music started to blare so loudly that we couldn’t hear each other speak. Even as we shouted to each other, we couldn’t understand what the other person was saying. When we raised the issue with our server, we were told that it was because it was«karaōke night». Now I have done karaōke before and I always thought that the point was for the music to play in the background while the singer displayed his, or her, vocal talent. NOT to drown out the sound of absolutely everything else in the vicinity. I swear that a commercial jetliner could have flown directly overhead, and would have gone unnoticed. There wasn’t even anyone singing to the music that was rattling my rear molars. It was after 8:00 in the evening, and getting a bit chilly outside, but we were told that we could sit outside if we wanted. Umm, no thanks. I would prefer to eat my meal without shivering, AND without going deaf. So we asked for the bill for our drinks(which they waived), and went elsewhere for dinner. While walking to our car, I searched the outside of the restaurant, but couldn’t find anything advising that they were having«karaōke night». I definitely recommend the food at Bonanza, but if you hope to have any chance of having a conversation during your meal(and avoid hearing loss), I suggest you call ahead to make sure they’re not having an impromptu concert before you go.

My boyfriend has tried this place out with co workers and he kept telling me he had to bring me! So we finally went this morning around 10ish. It was a really good breakfast. I got the French toast combo and I was happy with it. My boyfriend got a carne asada with chilaqulies and I’m not going to lie I kept stealing his food lol! The meat was really good and the chilaqulies were yummy! Next time I have to get what he got. I asked for coffee and sometimes diners can have crappy coffee so I was kind of hesitant but the coffee was really good and our waitress made sure to top it off when needed. Everyone is nice there and very welcoming. The décor is pretty cool too. I’m sure we will be going back :)

ITISGREATTOBEBACK!!! The BONANZA Restaurant Steak House and Mariscos is one of the best spots for breakfast, lunch, dinner, late dinner, and after-party-food-sober-me-upper. If you are in this area of Long Beach, I highly recommend stopping in here. I grew up in Long Beach and The Bonanza was my go-to place with my friends. My home was only walking distance from it. Great memories! 5 Stars for: –Service is fast and the servers are friendly and helpful. –Food is definitely good. I order their breakfast and their steaks. They have a good selection of Traditional Mexican food, as well. If you are the picky type, please, please, please let them know what you want and do not make the servers out to be like psychics. They work very hard and are super nice. –Free parking and lots of it; you may park in and around the neighborhood. –Clean establishment with TVs, liquor, and outdoor seating, too. Restrooms are clean, too. One at a time use though. No multiple parties, lol! –Friday and Saturday, they are open 24 hours. I would give them 6 stars, if they had sushi. Thanks for the read fellow Unilocalers and food lovers! Please support The Bonanza and SYOY!

First time here, my boyfriend decided to heck it out since we always drive by and just see the place from the car. Super friendly waiter and delicious food and my coffee was on pint just how I like it.

I love this place! They always get my order correct. The ladies who serve us are always friendly. I was introduced by my loved one, then I introduced Bonanza to my whole family and they loved it too. I would suggest the machaca(eggs with shredded beef) the beans are delicious. Their horchata is great and I love their menudo!

Food is okay. We had the giant patty melt — I don’t think they know the meaning of GIANT, by the way — and some nachos. Nachos were okay but I have tasted better, the patty melt was good, despite it being a non-giant. Service– I guess it’s okay too but nothing to sing praises about. It’s an old place that should feel welcoming, homey but it’s just blah. Though I would love to steal some of their decors! Lol… but I’m too chicken for those kind of things.

I would’ve given them 5 stars but there was something wrong with the register when we tried to pay with a card. Hopefully it doesn’t charge more than once. Other then that, one of the best meals I’ve had at a restaurant in a long time! Also, best. Pancakes. EVER!

I ordered the New York steak offered on their white board and it was served with your choice of vegetables, your choice of potatoes, bread, & soup or salad. all for $ 9.99! The place is a mixture of old western flair with a touch of Hispanic hospitality and the menu reflexes all that.

Live close to this restaurant, in Wilmington, and eat in one of the local restaurants every morning. I use to come here occasionally because of the great variety on their menu. There must be new owners because this is the absolute worst breakfast that I have had in any of the local restaurants. Had a omelet and sent it back and decided to have a basic breakfast since I was already there. How can you get eggs, sausage, and toast, wrong. Well they managed. Burnt toast, hard sausage, coffee… hum, not sure how they did that, I guess the eggs were ok. Anyway, won’t make this mistake again. On the good side, the waitress was very nice and attentive.

Just returned from Bonanza. Checked out the White Board specials and settled on the BBQ Spare Ribs. The plate was served with 4 meaty Spare Ribs, French Fries, Salad, and Steamed Broccoli $ 8.99. Thumbs up on the plate. The BBQ sauce was not overly sweet and the ribs had lots of meat and great taste. I ended up taking half of it home to enjoy for lunch tomorrow.

I came for breakfast on a Sunday morning. I was kind of hung over from the night before so I wanted something kind of heavy and the Bonanza is a great place to eat a hearty breakfast based in my previous experiences here. I went with the Seafood Omelette which has Shrimp, Crab, Mushroom, Bell pepper, Onion & Avocado. Instead if toast I went with a side of tomatoes because I am still staying away from carbs. I was seated right away and the service was great. It only took a few minutes to get my omelette and it was the bomb. Thanks for healing me Bonanza!
