My boyfriend and I are always impressed with their rolls here! One of our fav spots to hit up for sushi outings. One girl roll is by far my fav! Sushi chefs are also very pleasant and sociable

We’re from Ohio and happened upon this gem for happy hour and were very happy! Flavorful rolls, attentive service and a comfortable, smartly designed and accented space. Will come again.

This was by far the worst sushi I’ve ever had. I’m Japanese and was born and raised in Japan. I can honestly say for 100% that this place had fish that didn’t taste like a thing. Not only was it tasteless, but it also made me nauseous while eating it. It had such terrible quality on top of ratio. The rice was mushy. The fish was thick slabs of bland plastic. My mouth actually repelled what I was eating. I honestly hadn’t had bad sushi until I ate here. Please, for the love of God, do not go here. It’s cheap but terrible. The only good thing was that the servers and people were nice. But I don’t even feel bad saying what I said because honestly they don’t know what sushi tastes like. I don’t blame them but I will strongly discourage you from going here for the sake of your mouth and tongue. Don’t put them through the misery.

The fish is very fresh and the happy hour is unreal. The salmon sashimi was better than the raw salmon I had at Nobu in Malibu… enough said.

The visit was so Bad that I do not even know where to start. The service was very slow and once the food came I could not get a fork to save my life! We had a member of our group fall ill so we needed to leave early and fast. Since we had just received our food we asked for a few take out boxes and were told that we could not get one since it was Happy Hour and the prices were so low. I explained that we were from out of town and was not aware of such a wasteful policy and she still refused a box. I guess they would rather throw the food away? We paid for the food so how can they refuse to let us take it to go? Maybe they were going to re use it? Beware!

Came here 10 minutes before happy hour ended. $ 7 rolls?! Sign me up! Got the devil roll today-spicy albacore, jalapeño, and avocado topped with seared tuna and fried onion. They used the pickled jalapeño rather than the fresh cut ones, which would have tasted better in my opinion. But for $ 7, not gonna complain! I also ordered the albacore sushi, which was also on happy hour special for $ 4 for 2. Those were bomb! I’m gonna have to come back and try the rest of the menu. Good eats and excellent prices during happy hour. Not a bad combo!

Great service and decent food. We got calamari, black cod, the vegetarian sushi, the combo plates(one with salmon teriyaki and mixed tempura and the other one with chicken teriyaki and California roll). Everything was pretty good. We also had berry ice cream and Thai tea ice cream for dessert. Pretty good. Food wasn’t crazy amazing, but it’s what you would expect from a good, typical Japanese restaurant. Best part about our lunch was the great service and the TVs with closed captioning. :)

I want to give this place 4 stars for the sushi quality but can’t because the service was so horrible. We were the only table and it was still bad, had to ask for water the entire time and she brought it after asking 20 times when we were already almost done with our meal. Also had to keep asking over and over for the same item, a side of sauce, lemons etc. she was scattered and confused. I don’t think she spoke English well. And she brought out all the food and my 4 year old didn’t eat until last, he had a side of steamed rice and sliced avocado, you’d think that would be brought out first since those 2 things are already made and he’s 4. Had to ask over and over again for his order… common sense? Lol, guess not. She also gave us a bottle of HOT sake, we poured it right away and it was freezing cold. No biggie just said hey this is cold can we get a warm one, «no that one is warm» ummm ok. lol .She also set down a plate of sushi we were eating it and she came rushing over it was half eaten and she tried to take it saying it wasn’t our order, haha. It was our order. Weird. We had to get up over and over again asking the sushi chefs for things because she was nowhere to be found and even if we asked she wouldn’t bring it. And when the bill came forget about that, lol. It was wrong of course. Sucks because the food is pretty good. Maybe we’d come back in and try the sushi bar they seemed more on top of things then her… Oh well.

Oh my gosh. I can’t believe I haven’t written a review for this place yet. This is one of my favorite sushi bars to go to because their happy hour is insane. It’s priced so well and the quality is always great. It has a nice interior and it’s never too crowded. I don’t think I’ve ever had to wait here. As I said, they have a very great happy hour and I always leave full and satisfied. For appetizers, I’ve had the brussels sprouts, torpedo, fried calamari and baked mussels. My favorite is the brussels sprouts and the torpedo. Definitely try the torpedo if you’re not afraid of a little spice. It’s a jalapeño stuffed with spicy tuna, cream cheese and deep fried. Most times I’ve had it, the spice has been tolerable, but one time I had it and it was way too spicy for me to eat. For rolls, I’ve had 5 guys, devil, gucci, hairgrass, hot night, hot rod, phenix, rising sun, shimano and snoopy. My least favorite is the rising sun, but that’s mainly because I’m not a fan of sweet things on my sushi rolls and this is topped with mango. My favorites are definitely 5 guys, hot night and shimano. None of them are ever too spicy and they always hit the spot. There’s so much flavor in them. My favorite non-spicy roll is the gucci which tastes so fresh and delicious. They used to do happy hour all day on Monday, but the last time I was in here they changed it on the menu. So now it’s Monday through Friday 11:30 — 7:00 and Saturday/Sunday 3:00 — 7:00. They also have fresh wasabi if that’s your thing, just ask your server for it! They have a great beer selection and the happy hour price is great as well. If you haven’t been to White Wasabi… really, what are you waiting for?

The 2016 Unilocal 500 — Review # 168: Fresh fish is always a good a idea with this cowboy. Make it tuna and yellowfin sushi and I am your best friend. OVERALLEXPERIENCE: This business is clean, well stocked and the employees communicate in English perfectly, unlike a few other places I have been to in L.A. WHAT I GOT: I just grabbed a to go order and headed out but, next time I want to sit and eat. HOW I OPERATE: Usually, I simply give 4-stars for a great first time experience and then I visit the business for a second time… different day of the week, different time of day and then if the service and food quality is still great, I bump it up to 5-stars. Well, last night’s encounter with This restaurant was simply by chance. After checking out some dog parks I ended up here due to needing to shop Whole Foods. Finding this gem a few stores away, was purely just me paying attention. RETHINKINGOTHERREVIEWS: I have said this in other reviews and I meant it, «Sushi is sushi.» At the time that was completely accurate when judging a restaurant. Last night I was so impressed that I had finally found a place that made their wasabli the way it is SUPPOSED to be made!!! This stuff was POTENT! Just the way I like it. The fish portion was the best I have found anywhere. Even the rice was sizable and easily the largest portion I have found in 6 or 7 restaurants in the county. Anyway, I ate my to go order as an appetizer, before arriving at the planned dinner location and I had to call them and tell them how satisfied I was. ENDGAME: Definitely returning here here! PS: I originally gave this place 4-stars… I am adding an additional star now. Nice job. Don’t change a thing.

We have been coming here since they’ve been open. It’s always good and great service. They use asparagus instead of cucumber, it’s a little odd but good. Great happy hour.

Great lunch time spot. the service is on point here. all the sushi chefs are very friendly when you walk in. cute spot located by the marina on PCH. the place is pretty small so you can watch the chef making the sushi if you’re sitting at the bar or the tables across. Tried this spot during my lunch hour and it happen to also be happy hour… they have lunch specials which allows you to pretty much customize your orders depending on what you are craving. you can pick 2 rolls, mix up rolls and hand rolls, sushi bowl specials, rice bowls, udon and appetizer mixtures. the prices are under $ 10. Happy hour is Tues — Fri 11:30−7 which falls during lunch time. So you can order HH items for lunch time. you can pick rolls for $ 7 and there are appetizers that start at $ 3. I will definitely be retuning.

Why I have yet to review White Wasabi is beyond me, but this is my sushi spot in Seal Beach. There are not enough compliments I can give this restaurant. The fish is fresh and delicious, the staff and sushi chefs are friendly, and the restaurant itself is modern and clean. Their happy hour is amazing. This is when I usually go because if not, the prices of the rolls can be a bit expensive. The hours used to be till 7pm Monday-Friday, but now I think they’re changing the hours and days unfortunately. I usually order the Hot Night roll, the Charlie Brown, and the Rainbow roll. I also order the spicy tuna crispy rice, as an appetizer. I like the fact that their rolls aren’t overly drenched in sauces and the size of the sushi rolls are just right. I’ve never had to wait when coming to this restaurant, I’m usually seated right away and my food is served not too long after I order, especially if you’re sitting at the sushi bar. So if you’re ever in the area and craving sushi, try this spot, and hopefully you’ll become a fan like me.

Eating in is even better than take out!!! The music is on point, mellow yet slightly upbeat and totally completes the atmosphere. The décor was trendy and yet simplistic and very comfortable. Loved the table tops. To start we had the mixed tempura and egg rolls. They were both phenomenal fried perfection, hot and crisp but not greasy at all and the amount of batter on the tempura was just right. Typically I don’t eat pork but whatever was in the egg rolls didn’t phase me, tasted flavorful and of a high quality. For rolls we had(my favorite) the caterpillar, Charlie Brown, and the prosciutto. Went light on the rice, just my preference because then I can eat more haha!!! The caterpillar was and always is delicious, the eel there never disappoints is always fresh. Now the other rolls I tried(which is amazing in itself because I’m a pansy of a picky eater) were so flavorful and well textured I was in heaven!!! The Charlie Brown is a spicy crunchy must have, will be added to my fav list. The prosciutto was a twist I have never had before and while I preferred it without the mayo and eel sauce it was a decadent combination of goat cheese crunchy goodness. A pleasant punch to the taste buds. Also, the sake was perfect when cold, and this is coming from a non sake drinker. The waitress recommended it and I was highly suspicious only to be pleasantly surprised.

Pretty good! We came late(9pm on a Friday night) and were seated right away. I’ve passed by this place a few times and it does not look like the type of restaurant where you’d need to call in advance for reservations. Interestingly enough, I felt like this is one of the best sushi spots in the Seal Beach area(in terms of quality of fish and menu diversity) but it’s just never crowded. The fish was incredibly fresh. The pictures here on Unilocal speak for themselves. Some of our favorite dishes were the Salmon carpaccio in a sesame sauce and a sushi roll with fresh tuna and mango(sorry, don’t remember the exact names). Portions are small and appetizing. I couldn’t help but notice that this is a Vietnamese-run restaurant, which explains the unique and whimsical fusion-style flavors we were met with. All the rolls sounded really good. The one we ordered had a light blend of zesty oils and sauces that were harmonious. I typically don’t like sushi rolls with too many ingredients and sauces but they pull it off really well here(not too overpowering, light drizzle). I ordered a tempura udon, but the udon noodles were bad, soggy, thin. Taking off 1 star for that. Service was just ok. Found ourselves having to wave down our server a few times, she seemed to be in a bad mood. –1. To be fair we came in one hour before closing. For such a light dinner, I did feel the price was a little steep. However, I’m seeing now that they have a happy hour. Would love to come back and take advantage of that.

White wasabi is one of the better sushi bars to hit the LBC in quite some time. In spite of some service glitches, their food quality is good enough to come back to. Its a convenient location as well. The fish is fresh, As it should be. Alas, they are not really doing anything innovative here, it seems to be more about portion size and value for the money, just like every other Long Beach restaurant playing it safe. Their happy hour is solid, so that is worth a visit if you want some better than average quality on the cheap. Did like the 5 – 0 roll, and the Hot Night, but you get this stuff under a different name at other sushi sellers all around LB.

This is my favorite sushi place around. Bomb happy hour here. Cute place located in the same plaza as Whole Foods. The sushi chefs are great, and fish is fresh. I love the Devil roll(spicy tuna inside, tuna outside, with jalapeño avocado and awesome yumminess)! Plus their salmon nigiri is so great — creamy fresh and altogether delicious! Their seaweed salad is great too! Their ice cream is homemade, FYI.

This was the BEST sushi dinner I’ve ever had. The fish was so fresh and delicious. My husband and I came here for the first time tonight and we had great service! Since it’s a Friday night it was a full house, but we were seated pretty quickly at the bar. We ordered a fried calamari starter, which was very good. My husband ordered the Five«O» roll, and I ordered a Sushi Plate. Both where phenomenal. The Five«O» roll had the perfect amount of spiciness. And the great thing about my Sushi Plate is that I was able to watch the sushi chef prepare it in front of me and the presentation was beautiful. He included assorted nigiris with a little extra somethin somethin to make them unique. I loved the hint of lemon zest on a few of them. I highly recommend the Sushi Plate and I would definitely order it again. My hubby and I will be definitely be coming back and we’ll make this our go-to sushi spot!

Stopped by here to have lunch with my sister since it’s right down the street from CSLB and saw that it had great reviews. I liked that the place was well lit and clean. The booth side was very comfy! I had their lunch poke bowl which comes in a half size with 3 pieces of sashimi. The tuna poke bowl was very good & the cut of the sashimi was generous but it wasn’t melt-in-your-mouth. I still thought it was a really good deal being a half size bowl and it really filled me up. The rating however, is mainly for the service. I’d give the service 1 star. We came in during lunch time on a Wednesday and the waitress made us feel really awkward. When we walked in she didn’t even say hi. She just asked how many and brought us to a table. Throughout our whole meal she did not say not one word to us besides when she had to come take our order. Even then, she maybe said like 2 words. When we requested something she wouldn’t say anything and every time we said thank you, you guessed it, nothing. She just walked away. Ok? It was like that every single time. When she dropped off the check to closing us out she just left it on the table and left. Even my sister thought it was super awkward. Maybe she shouldn’t be waitressing. A hi and bye and not making your guests feel so uncomfortable would be nice?

Wow this place blew me away. I actually came to the Marina with the intention of eating lunch at schooner or later before going hydrobiking, but I found out the wait was going to be around 30 minutes-1 hour, which cut too close to my hydrobiking reservation. The BF and I started Unilocaling places in the area, and found that this place was nearby and had high reviews. We walked in the place had a very modern, contemporary feel, I liked it! Our server was very professional and nice, the service was excellent throughout our visit. We had a hard time deciding what to order since they have such an extensive menu. We each ended up ordering from the lunch special, which they have everyday from 12pm-3pm. I ordered the pick three, which allows you to pick one cut roll and two hand rolls. I went with the eel/avocado cut roll and spicy tuna handroll and spicy salmon handroll. The lunch special also comes with miso soup and salad. All of the food was delicious. The sushi was perfectly rolled. The fish and veggies were fresh and plentiful. I also liked that the rice was semi warmish, kind of reminds me of Sugarfish in that aspect. All of this food for only $ 11. I was very satisfied by my meal. For drinks, I got two glasses of Sauvignon Blanc, and BF got a glass of Merlot. They gave generous pours, and the wine was delicious! We also ended up getting to try their HOMEMADE ice cream, we got a scoop of salted caramel and a scoop of earl grey milk tea. This was seriously some of the best ice cream I’ve ever had, the flavors were so vibrant. Who would have thought that this place had delicious homemade ice cream. This place is seriously awesome, and I’m so happy that we ran into this place! I’ll def come back when I’m the area, and highly recommend this place!
