If you like buying chocolates in a quaint, historic setting, this is the place for you. The storefront is a 40 year old replica of the old Long Grove school house, which was originally located on this spot in this now quaint, historic, and now somewhat rustic/touristy shopping enclave. We came here to the retail location after seeing a tour of their chocolate assembly line production facility 10 minutes away. We bought a couple of chocolate covered strawberries for $ 3.37 as a mini-treat, and I can’t really speak to relative pricing/value since we normally never buy stuff like this.

Three words… CHOCOLATEDIPPEDSTRAWBERRIES! These things are AMAZING! I live about an hour away from here and will specifically make a trip for these berries. I have yet to find another place that makes them better. I have no clue how they get them to be so juicy inside. They also do chocolate truffles that are fantastic! Small and cute store. A little bit pricey but definitely worth it. On a busy day in town, the line will wrap around the store and out the door so come early! Love it!

The fudge was grainy but flavorful, the pie was greasy but tasty. I like Ma and Pa’s better.

What a cute little candy store! This whole frickin town just screams«POSTCARD!!!» I received an email from Amazon Local giving $ 10 off any deal. And guess what, LGCC was offering a $ 10 deal for $ 20 worth of goodies. Wait, did I just get $ 20 free? Sure did! I don’t know if they did that as a promotion or what, but Ashley and I took advantage of Amazon’s stupidity and enjoyed our coconut chocolate buckets, gummy bears, peanut butter Easter eggs, and dark chocolate bars. It was all VERRRRYYYY good. They have other foods that aren’t candy as well. The trail mix looked awesome, as did the mixed nuts. One tip of advice, wear a noseplug, or bring a set amount of money you want to spend. Once the sweet aroma of Long Grove Confectionary Company hits your nose, you will want to buy the whole store!

There are new products in the store because Long Grove Confectionery was sold to Arway Confections a couple of days ago. I have not had a chance to try out the new products. During the Long Grove festivals, they sell unfrozen Apple Haus pies and apple cider donuts. I almost bought a pie, but didn’t because I had already bought a bunch of apple cider donuts. The apple cider donuts are only sold outside the Long Grove Confectionery(in a tent) during the festivals. Long Grove Confectionery is making the donuts for the festivals since Apple Haus no longer exists. I would give the donuts and pecan myrtles 5 stars, but I would rate the other candies 3 stars.

One of the best parts of Long Grove Village — and definitely the sweetest. They carry a lot of sweets they didn’t make themselves. Do yourself a favor and skip them. Stick to the treats inside the glass counter and don’t miss their dark chocolate and chocolate covered strawberries.

This is a fantastic place to get really great chocolate. It is a very quaint store situated in the heart of Long Grove. There is a little viewing window in the store where you can watch people dip the strawberries in chocolate. I come here every year to get chocolates for my Christmas cookie plates and for Christmas stocking stuffers. My favorite items are the chocolate dipped strawberries and the English toffee.

When you need a little treat for yourself and are willing to splurge on cost, Long Grove Confectionary Co. may do the trick for you. I stopped here with a friend one summer afternoon while perusing the shops around Long Grove. My friend was immediately drawn to the«old school» candy of yesteryear set up around the perimeter of the store. They had lots of candy that you’d see if you grew up in the 1970’s: like those little wax pop bottles that were filled with flavored liquid where you chew on the wax afterwards; or Choward’s Violet Mints and Scented Gum(which my friend knew all about, though I hadn’t heard of them before), and a host of other vintage era candies. But I was more focused on the chocolates and truffles. Handmade delights everywhere. Big price tag at $ 24 per pound, so each individual piece of chocolate or truffle was about $ 1. That’s where the splurge comes in. Each piece I tried was pretty good and not overly sweet like some mainstream chocolates I’ve had before. Normally, I wouldn’t spend that much on chocolates, but when in Long Grove…

Beautiful store(their stained glass ceiling is a must-see if you’re in Long Grove), but the goodies are mighty pricey. Still, one might be tempted; I’m not even a fudge fan, and a sample of their fudge — creamy, soft and delicious, and not sickeningly sweet — nearly brought me to my knees. Be warned. Lots of truffles and schmancy chocolates. For more of the old-fashioned hard candies, check out Ma and Pa’s Candy nearby.

The shop is beautiful, the selection is incredible and everything is really overpriced. If you’re out shopping and want a sweet treat this is good place to stop for a peanut butter cup or chocolate turtle. The small ones were $ 2 and the big ones were $ 3.60.

This store brings back many happy childhood memories. Even as an adult, I am still in awe watching the vats of chocolate turn, homemade fudge being poured and manipulated, and just breathing the air of yummy chocolate. There is really something unique and special about this store. It feels as if time has stopped and you are taken to place in time that is only yours. I love that they sell old fashioned candy in glass jars, marshmallow ice cream cones, button candy, peppermint sticks, and all the things that make you wish that pillows were really made out of cotton candy and that Willy Wonka really exists! Their hand dipped strawberries are divine! It is also a great place to get gifts such as stuffed toys, etc. It’s a tight squeeze in here… you kinda feel like you are herded like cattle in there.

This is the best store as far as Long Grove confectionerys are concerned… going to one in the mall is not like walking into the store in Long Grove! The smell of the chocolate gets you the minute you open the door! YUM! As for the selection, it’s great. The strawberries, cherries, filled chocolates, etc… you can just smell it all most of it is delicious! They’ve even got a pretty decent selection of sugar free chocolates. The only thing I’d complain about is that the don’t have much in the little kid affordability line in their store. When we stopped in to get some chocolate for us, my husband and I were surprised to find that though we could get a little package of gummy worms for them, there were about 4 in the package and it was $ 2.00… that it a ridiculous amount. My guess, they do chocolates not gummies, but it was disappointing to find that if kids are with their parents the paren’t have to fork over quite a bit to get a non-chocolate treat for their kids. Otherwise, I love Long Grove Confectionery, the chocolate is tasty and fresh and always a treat!

I stopped in here when attending one of Long Groves many outdoor festivals. This is another charming scenic area especially the area where this shop is. I stopped in with other visitors and they gave us a tour of the shop asnd let us taste samples which lured me in to buy their delicious but overpriced chocolate.
