Stay away. These reviews are either manufactured or these people eat a diet of cardboard. I cannot believe how terrible this food is, and it’s not even cheap! Stay away! I love chinese food and have eaten all kinds of cheap chinese. This is worse than dog food. And I’m being completely serious. I’ve eaten dog food. Order from Fortune Cookie Instead. It’s the only decent chinese option in the area I’ve found.

I’ve had food here on two separate occasions. The first time, I ordered take out. I got pork and cabbage soup, and plantains. The next time, I picked up chicken and broccoli and fried pork dumplings. All of the food was fresh. I really enjoyed the soup and the dumplings were not doughy, which I liked. The staff is also friendly.

Take out review for some shrimp fried rice and a hot and sour soup on a gross, miserable, wet, slushy night. Props to the delivery man! Fast delivery on a mile plus bike ride in horrible weather. I’ve seen cars hit these guys when it’s nice out. It’s a way dangerous occupation so tip nicely. Food: yum! Shrimp fried rice is chock full of shrimp. Hot and sour soup: vegetarian! Just the right amount of kick and blend of ingredients. One of the best swept and sour soups I’ve ever had. Why was I so excited to write this review? Because my order came with those little crispy noodles, which I haven’t seen in AGES. You know, the ones they used to give as appetizers and you dip in duck sauce? The chinese version of gratis chips and salsa? I never ate them as a kid but they do bring back Happy memories.

This place is double-posted. Below is from my entry on the same restaurant, but it was incorrectly written as «Chang’s» instead of «Cheng»: It’s my neighborhood Chinese restaurant, and I’m a fan of the prices and generous portions. Everything I’ve tried here so far has been good, although the General Tso Chicken is my favorite. They have a couple tables inside if you want to enjoy the loud thump of strip club music from Scandals next door. Hah! But it’s best for take-out or delivery. The minimum order for delivery is $ 7, so last time I got an item from the lunch menu line-up plus an order of shrimp toast.

The bottom line: This is a standard Chinese take out place with a few extra perks. 1. They have fried plantains, which were good. 2. They are located on Queens Plaza North right next to the 7/N/Q trains. 3. Their roast pork egg foo young actually comes with gravy. I think most Chinese food places sell their egg foo young with that gravy, but some don’t. These guys do. The food I got here was good and cheap so tally-ho: come on ride with me on the calorie train.

«If it’s good enough to be next to a strip club, it’s good enough to eat» — You know that old rule, right? No? Just me? Ok. Well, it is located right next to Scandals, right near the North entrance to Queensboro Plaza, in a rundown looking tiny storefront. It’s a place that is probably better not seen, but still does the job. Got takeout for dinner last night — not bad! Pretty good egg drop soup — not the best, not the worst, but definitely good enough to eat. My chicken lo mein was pretty good, nice sauce, good quality, solid veggies in it, I was happy with it. Her Sweet & Sour chicken was really good too — nice & light chicken, good rice, definitely a solid meal with an overflowing portion. This was my first time ordering from Cheng, I’m sure it won’t be my last.

Walked past this place several times, finally ordered. Solid sweet & sour chicken, yummy dumplings, glad they have brown rice. It was incredibly filling; three hours later and I can still barely move, despite not finishing it(WHAT«Chinese food effect»?). It was cheap and the delivery was fast. I’ll be ordering again, and getting something besides the sweet & sour dishes. They should join Seamless!

Hole in the wall half a block away from the north exit of Queensboro Plaza station(N, Q,7). Very little space to sit – this is primarily a takeout/delivery place. Very cheap and very good, especially for lunch. You’ll pay around $ 5 – 7 and be stuffed. Good rice dishes, really good noodle dishes(I like the house special lo mein). Friendly little Chinese lady who takes your order at the front counter, though a bit hard to understand her English(I find it endearing). This is how you know the place is legit: you can see straight down into the kitchen, watch your food being prepared while you wait at the counter, and everyone working there is Chinese and loves bantering about to one another. I’m quite affectionate for holes-in-the-wall, and this place gets my seal of approval for speediness of service, good food, good prices(especially for lunch deals!), and good portions. 4 Stars.
