Environment: 5⁄5 Employees: 5⁄5 Food: 5⁄5 Drinks: 5⁄5 Cost: 5⁄5 Accessibility: 5⁄5 Synopsis: I know I am like a week and a half late on this. Busy, busy! In any case, I was fortunate enough to make it to the latter part of this since I had work! Although I was all gym-ed out, it was totally worth it! I do say, I always loved Japanese hospitality. It is ALWAYS stellar, best of its kind compared to the rest of the world. I loved the spicy tuna, which made my eyes roll in an orgasmic motion! We cannot forget the green tea pancakes that was washed down by matcha, and and and and the California rolls! I loved the fact that the space can be altered based on the needs of the client, whether they want a small party or for the art space. And of course, I always come because I love the people! Environment: It is a very small space, but with it, it has been maximized for use. Definitely a small venue for a private occasion! But that is the perk of it. The environment has nice wooding to it, to give it that«art gallery clean» look… everything was spaced so nicely in terms of the pieces that were on the display. Employees: One word, «Japanese.» When it comes to customer service, Japanese is definitely the top of the line. The culture and language spoken to customers are like Gods and although it wasn’t stated via –sama, etc. it definitely was felt! Every opportunity had beer/food made available. Food: Spicy tuna: One of the best since I have been to NYC! I don’t know what it is. Freshly made? Just made for us?! But delicious. YUM! 5⁄5 California Roll: Very typical, but at the same time delicious. Nothing absolutely note-worthy. 3⁄5 Matcha pancakes — Not only was this super cute, it was super delicious. 5⁄5 Drinks: Matcha Tea: I couldn’t have beer because carbonation ruins your workout, but the tea was amaze-balls. Although it was sugary, it was definitely refreshing. LOVE! 5⁄5 Cost: ^^ Elites get it free yo! Accessibility: Right off the 7 and N by Queensboro! Sooo easy to get to.

Unilocal event on Monday? 2 minute walk from the subway stop? I’m in! Resobox, a new Japanese cultural center, has an interesting layout which can be customized for events. It is an art gallery, coffee shop, restaurant, special events venue and can hold birthday parties, graduation parties, corporate meetings, and awesome Unilocal parties. The night was a laid back one. A wonderful chance to browse artwork, meet new members, and try goodies– sushi, bread with honey, and 5 hour green tea, The green tea turned out to be loaded with caffeine that livened the night, but also delayed my bedtime. The bathroom also deserves some recognition. Did anyone else think it was fascinating? Appreciated artwork while doing business. Thank you to the host and the Unilocal leaders. Cannot thank you guys enough for organizing! It’s nice to know Japanese culture has a presence in Queens other than in a form of a sushi restaurant. Perhaps I’ll attend Samurai sword and Ki development classes one day.

What a great time with my fellow QYE! Thank you Takashi & Staff for hosting us in your gallery/café. It’s so cool to see a cultural center like this in our neighborhood. I love that there is so much art it rotates every few weeks! Thanks to Jando, Matt, & That Guy that’s really into NY Sports teams who takes pictures. HAHA You guys are the best! And I don’t know how you guys always do it with the beer, but Kirin to match the Japanese theme BIGPROPS! The sushi was great and the taiyaki was the bomb. I wish I had more! The intimate gathering was nice. It wasn’t packed, and everyone was cheerful and engaged. Love seeing ya’ll!

What do you get when you have a little art, some delicious green tea, samples of yummy bites, Kirin beer and some of the coolest people in New York wrapped up in a tiny little box? You get RESOBOX of course! This event was an intimate mix of Unilocalers and a glance at beautiful photographs of the Asian culture. Of course food and drinks were not skimped on! I feasted on sushi and their famous Matcha Pancake(OMG! so tasty). I really enjoyed the green tea and of course a few Kirin’s. Everything was delicious and I am glad I can come and gets me some more! It was great to meet some newborn Unilocalers and of course chatting up my seasoned comrades. It was a relaxing venue which apparently transforms into not only the café but a learning center! Really cool. Nelson was all over the place snapping away which is always fun! Can’t wait to check out the pics! Very low key pleasant night again hosted by none other than Jando. He always knows how to «keep it classy Queens!»

Yet another great event in the borough of Queens. Very intimate and cozy, but that only heightened the fun and the great company. Takashi was the most gracious host, and was clearly passionate about his work and his beliefs. Thank you for the non stop ice cold Kirin, the matcha tea(errmahgerrd), the sushi and the red bean cakes! Jando chose yet another great venue, this time just steps away from the Queensboro Plaza station. Filled with art that rotates every couple of weeks or so, Resobox is definitely worth visiting if only for a light snack or some sort of event. Art gallery slash café slash event space, Resobox will be getting another visit from me in the near future. Thanks everyone!

What’s better than a YEE on a Monday? Two YEE’s! ! Double dipped tonight with Katie H. — after a lovely buzzy time at Hop Devil Grill, we were fortunate to be welcomed to Resobox, an intimate Japanese Gallery right off the Queensboro Plaza stop. Takashi, the owner, was an absolute sweetheart and amazing host. So warm and inviting with a contagious smile. He’s one of those people you’d come back to see even if you didn’t like the venue, if that makes sense. However, the space is awesome! There were so many interesting photos on the wall and there was soft music playing in the background — perfect for a classy mingly evening. Apparently, Resobox is a café, also offers classes and is a venue for parties and lectures. cool stuff. Drinks of the night was Kirin and matcha tea and bites included California and spicy tuna rolls and matcha red bean cake. Everything was plentiful and delicious. That cake dipped in honey was toasty, sweet and just incredible! The matcha tea was also wonderful — perfect level of sweetness. Got some awesome swag too — ice maker for the apartment. Unilocal on the rocks! Lovely way to end a wonderful day. Thank you Jando, Queens team and Resobox!

Fun event with a cool crew at the LIC art gallery, Resobox! Debuting an exhibition lineup of late 1800s era pictures of Japanese landscape and people, the gallery also doubles as a meeting space and café! Talk about utility! It was quite an intimate event with no +1’s, which made for an easier time of holding several conversations with people you’ve either meet for the first time or in past events. Very cool. Of course, a Unilocal event wouldn’t be complete without a few nibbles and drink, to which we owe many thanks to Kirin Brewery of America for the Kirin Ichiban brewskis and Resobox for assembling some sushi rolls and taiyaki, some Japanese fish shaped cakes filled with cream, in this case, matcha. It would otherwise be red bean normally, instead. There were also helpings of Japanese red-bean-filled pancakes, divvied up into finger sized bites. Yum! Also matcha tea, which is soothing and lovely. The owner, Takashi welcomed everyone and emphasized getting to know the community. Quite heartwarming! Thanks to the Unilocal Queens crew for holding it down– Jando, Nelson, and Matt
