Flea Market. I always wonder why they call a Flea Market a Flea Market. Answer? I have no clue. The mystery continues… This event was a little confusing to navigate through at first. This was partially due to the fact that I had misplaced the list that Jando had sent via email listing participating vendors. But as a general rule of thumb, most of the food was on the right side of the Flea Market so it wasn’t exactly rocket science either. Favorites: 1) El Jefe Nachoria — These tacos were on point. They are currently 4 or 5 on my list but that is because of size of taco and location. Solid eats though. 2) Southern Wheels — their fried chicken is amazing. I was expecting larger portions even for samples. They ran out of food pretty quickly as well. Except for the food that you had to pay for of course. Not my favorite Elite event but it was a beautiful sunny day or a sun burning day for those who gets red easily. Cold, strong beer served in an enclosed area. All in all, it was a good day.

The Unilocal gods couldn’t have picked a better day to get elites and their +1’s to come and see what LIC flea had to offer. It was a perfect sunny day in Long Island City. The vendors were generous in their offerings and it was their last day before the weather forces them to move to a warmer location. Although I’ve been to LIC Flea a couple of times before there were some that I’ve never seen there before. Too bad the long line to try Hakata Tonton’s ramen detered us from trying it. And when we finally decided to line up for it, the samples ran out. You snooze, you lose, right? The best for me was Coney Shack’s fish taco. Crunchy but not dry. Super tasty. Beer was also being served at the garden area and why not? It’s a nice Saturday afternoon. Thanks Jando and Unilocal team and of course to all the vendors who prepared these tasty bites for us to try.

Such a beautiful day to be outdoors for this incredible event! The elites and their +2s definitely took over LIC Flea today — the place was swarming! I couldn’t believe how many vendors participated, including all the Queens breweries, but no complaints on that. Jando always pulls out all the stops! I arrived right at 12 and was able to avoid the mob lines to try the offering at each vendor. My favorite bites of the event; – Chef Koji Ramen by Hakata Tonton. I’d been to Hakata before but did not try the ramen. A little shotglass of ramen with chashu was the sample here and it was incredible. Noodles were perfect texture and that broth was insanely delicious with such a depth of rich pork flavor. – Sou

The weather was beautiful, food made my tummy happy, and surrounded by awesome people — YOUALL! Char Siu Ramen stole my tummy today! The broth was so flavorful and the ramen noodles had the perfect texture! The Pork Belly Bun from Bao Shoppe was a showstopper, too. Charred to perfection and looking at the photo I took is making me drool again! Tea n’ Milk’s natural Taro Bubble Tea adds a refreshing finish to my day. I loved it! Best part of it all? Beer garden! Thank you, Jando & Team making this event happen! I will try my best to attend more of the near future events! Thank you also for the generous +2 guest passes! P. S. I hugged Jando for the first time today!!! *fan girl scream* :)
