I totally get that halal cart is a small business, and the guy is trying to make ends meet. But this was just horrible. I asked for chicken over rice. The guy gives lamb and the smallest amount of chicken possible. This guy has the best spot in NYC. This is Little Egypt ffs. I dk why«my people» are so short sighted. But whatever this is generally what happens in Steinway. Every1 is so obsessed with pennies, the dollars are just flying out of their pockets. Here’s some advice, just bc your customer looks like you, speaks your language, and shares your religion; it doesn’t mean they owe you jack $hit. I, for instance, will just get kosher next time smart a$$. Oh and I wouldn’t recommend chubby burger. The ppl there have the same problem. Greedy af.

coming late from dance club, and starving ?? this is one of the carts that has served me as late as 5 in the morning. Really like the falafel over rice and sandwich.

Okay so when you’re in Astoria and it’s 1−2am there is nothing open. It’s either the Burger King drive thru, a deli sandwich or one of the Kebab or Halal carts. This cart gets a lot of visitors especially at night because everyone else is in the same situation I am. A plate is $ 6 for lamb, chicken or both. Depending on whose working that night depends on your portion size. I’ve had plates that were fully loaded and some where I just felt ripped off. I don’t think their lamb tastes that great at all. The chicken is decent. The last time I went here I got sick and I won’t be going back again. Update: I went back after being sick and got sick again. Not eating here every again.

Damn that was a damn good falafel sandwich I had last night at this cart. So good I had to say damn twice. Always people around and the guys working are super nice. It was a really great late night meal.

Good when it’s 4am and nothing else is open. I only get the chicken platter here which is good. The lamb always tastes off to me. The portions are good, guys are friendly and there’s always fresh meat on the grill which is a good sign.

One of the better halal carts I’ve had. Their around all the time and it’s a nice sight to see actual fresh vegetables sitting in the cart so what they serve you is pretty much made to order. While El Rey del Taco disappointed me on a Friday night by not being at its usual spot, this cart didn’t fail.

I walk past these guys all the time, and I just happened to decide that i wanted a delicious dinner and didn’t want to cook, so I gave them a chance. They seem to have a pretty regular following in the neighborhood, always seems to be people hovering around it. The meat was okay, the chicken was a little fattier than i would expect even for the dark meat portions. The vegetables were good, and the rice — well the rice– my advice is unless you are sure you can handle it– and I am not exaggerating, stay clear of what they call the«spicy rice.» I’ve never been so tortured by something spicy in this way before. Everything I touched, burned. It burned for a full day afterwards. My god, they do spicy rice right. But perhaps too right, because I do not think I will ever be able to bring myself back there to ask for that wonderfully spicy, utterly torturous, rice.
