Mysttik Masaala

I have never craved Indian food before like the way I crave the food from Mysttik Masaala. I love that the offerings change often so that you never get bored. And the flavor and spice level is wonderful!

EXCELLENT Indian food. And super legit, too. I am very grateful to have them in our neighborhood. The guys and gal who work the cart are always friendly, even when I keep asking them when they will have more paneer lol.
Literally everything I’ve had here is good– faves are chicken tikka, paneer, and all over rice with onions, hot sauce and some chickpeas.
Remember to tip!

Yuvraj Uncle is awesome! So thankful to have found this gem. His food truck sits in Midtown East on 54^th and Park, he made a Jain meal especially for me. The food was wholesome, warm, and most important of all, delicious. Will definitely be frequenting more often.

Great food. But above all, great service and an individual who enjoys feeding people. He even waited for me to come back from meetings so I could pick up dinner. Also, really open to feedback. Being Indian and a foodie, we are discerning about our Indian food and the food was great!!!

— chapli: tad high on garam masala and would use more tenderizer but to be able to extract flavor from chicken is a gargantuan task

Not just my favorite Indian food, but my favorite food in general in LIC. Delicious and wallet friendly. And Yuvaraaj, the owner, is so friendly you know the food is made with love. I love everything, but the vada pav, aloo tiki, bhel puri, bhindi (okra), Chana masala, samosas and biryanis are my favorites and always satisfying.

A very nice surprise when it comes to the food scene of Long Island City. A jewel of a cart, delicious food, prepared with soul. Go and try it with confidence ! Good indian food exists in LIC !

Its been a while I haven’t been in the city to taste your yummy food, today I had the pleasure to meet my lovely Friend Yuvraaj and of course had a nice chicken Masala plate like he knows how to make it for me, I recommend this spot for everyone who love Indian food or people who love trying new dishes, you gotta enjoy the food prepared by Yuvraaj.

Save your money and go elsewhere! I ordered the chicken tikka masala and was beyond disappointed at how hard the rice was, how small the portion was and how lackluster it was. You’re better of buying frozen chicken tikka masala at Food Cellar and microwaving it; it’s even cheaper by a couple of bucks.

I can’t stay away from this food! I make it a weekly ritual to over indulge in their samosa chat and their veggie dish of the day.
Each person I’ve dealt with is so welcoming and informative. It is my only go-​to place for Indian in the neighborhood. LOVE them.
I can’t wait to chow down later this week.

I had higher expectations about this place. Food was soaked in oil, bread was dry, vegetarian platter had hardly any vegetables. The okra-​named dish had mainly potatoes and only hints of okra. Meat and lentils were good, but not worth going back for. Quite a disappointment after all the great reviews.
If it wasn’t for the ton of oil, I would probably give the place a second try.

Yuvaraaj is fantastic and his food brings your expectations of street cart food to another level. You honestly can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Go give it a shot if you have not yet already — you will not be disappointed!

Wow. I always passed this food truck but today I stopped. I’m so glad that I did. The man working in the truck was super sweet. He gave us a free sample.
We pretty much gave him $ 20 and said give us something delicious. Check out the photos we posted. Everything we ate we were drooling. The food was super cheap and had great portions.
They get 5 stars for everything. I will come back and do the same thing. We were really happy with our purchase. We loved that he gave us a mixture of food without having to pick ourselves. Twenty dollars well spent!

This is by far the best Indian food in NYC — no doubt LIC. Yuvaraaj is awesome, remembers customers, and tends to be generous on the free samples.

My husband discovered this gem right outside of his job pooches when I was 4 months pregnant and we’ve been in love ever since. WARNING NURSING MOTHERS! My baby is almost 3 months now and every time I eat here my breast milk supply literally doubles within a couple of hours. Happy mama happy baby! The owner is delightful, the prices are incredible and the quality is 5 stars. The best Indian food I’ve had here in the states. I never thought something so flavorful and authentic could fall from a truck!

Next to my best friends mother, this is hands down the best food of its style I’ve had in ages! Local ingredients and fresh menus this cart will keep you coming back! I know I’m definitely a repeating customer. Don’t forget to ask for his amazing hot sauce!

I discovered the cart on a date to the Pier. Grabbed dinner with my boyfriend and I love how quick the service is. The guys were extremely polite. The food is delightful, fresh and taste just like it’s homemade. Its a little far from where we reside but so worth the trip.

This Indian foot truck is the bomb. It is conveniently located at the intersection of center blvd and 47^th st, right next to the grocery store foodcellar.
I like spicy food and got the chicken vindaloo which is packed with flavor and deliciousness. The gentleman who runs the food truck is very nice and helpful with recommendations.

An Indian restaurant was sorely needed in this neighborhood so I was excited to see this stand open up.
I used to work for an Indian boss and everyday he would share his homemade lunch with me. I had never again tasted food like that at any commercial establishment until I ordered from this cart. It took me right back! The flavors are so very authentic. For $ 8 you get a huge portion of food. It’s a great deal, tastes awesome, and the people who run the cart are so nice.

This has become my comfort food on busy weekdays. Great food and variety, and the owners are super friendly and have somehow managed to get me to eat my veggies :-o! Needless to say, I recommend the vegetarian platter, because everything they put on it is a treat.

I used to take the trips to Jackson heights to get my Indian food craves, satisfied, but no more, the food from Mysttik is fresh, decious and authentic, with a different specials everyday of the week.

Wow, what an absolute treat! I was on a stroll when I got hungry and Unilocaled it — this little gem came up. The food cart is beautifully designed and situated. The food, completely on point, perfect flavor and spice, and good portion too! The people were really kind and helpful in selecting my meal. I can’t imagine a better Indian food cart out there. Come here, this will satisfy your Indian craving.

The samosa chat was realllyyyy good! I also loved batata vada naan roll. He added a garlic powder seasoning chutney which is exactly how my mom makes it! I’ve found no other commercial establishment to add that! Takes you to Mumbai with every bite!
Please don’t think twice before ordering here! My friends ordered chicken vindaloo and they loved it as well!

Hands down one the best food carts in the city. This guy is amazing.

I get excited every time I see his truck! I love Indian food and my bf had never tried it. Just one taste from this food truck and now he’s hooked. You can tell the owner cooks with love. No way do you make food like this otherwise. Everything is so fresh and delicious. Spices are spot on! We eat here at least twice a week. Would recommend it to anyone.

I love Mysttik Masaala! I usually cook on the weekdays, but when I don’t feel like it or worked late, I know that I can count on this food to be in the neighborhood until 10pm. There is always a great selection and you will not be disappointed.
Yuvaraaj is kind and always remembers every customers. He even says hi every night when I walk my dogs past his cart– even if I am not buying anything. He loves what he does and is good at it. He works in the city during the day and then comes to our neighborhood of Long Island City for weekday dinners.
I usually dont get the same thing because his menu is different everyday, so I like to rotate between his chicken dishes. Chicken Tikka, Curry, Lazeeza, and the (huge) Naan I have tried. All of them delicious. I tried the Chicken Sheesh Kabaab last night and it was delicious. I would recommend that if you aren’t in the mood for saucy dishes. I have never been disappointed. Even the side dishes are good, and I am referring to the chickpeas in particular. Boy, does it have some heat into it!
There is a reason why there’s always a line. Give it a try, you won’t be disappointed!
FYI, Cash only but there is a Chase ATM in Duane Reade.

Really wanted this to be great, because having a great Indian joint on the corner that sells chaat would be amazing, as a person of Indian origin. But I regret to inform that it fell short. I’ve gotten a few items so far, and only one was good. Yuwa is a great salesman, though, and maybe it’s just a matter of finding the menu items that really shine through.

As a Brit, I know good Indian food. Unfortunately this is not that.
I found the dishes (a biriyani and tikka masala) to be overly salty. I also thought the portion was a little small for $ 10.
The menu was not entirely clear if you go for any of the specials.
Perhaps I selected the wrong dish, but I don’t feel the need to return.
Please, can someone find me some decent Indian food in this city!!!

the food is simply terrific — i’ve eaten here a number of times since discovering him in the neighborhood and the food always tastes fresh and flavorful and just like home cooked. I love that he offers lots of variety every day and different choices throughout the week. the owner is so friendly and generous, always giving away samples of new foods or desserts he’s made, which makes it extra fun to go there. you wont regret trying this food truck out! one of the best in the business.
