Extremely overpriced!!! We went on Valentine’s Day 2016 and were disappointed. The service was horrible our bill was $ 200 and there was only a selection of 3 main courses to choose from! Out of three of the sides one was sold out(garlic mashed potatoes) We had a reservation and still had to wait an additional 30 minutes! We get seated in a separate room with about 15 other couples it was extremely tight and no space to get comfortable. You had to whisper because if not the table 2 feet from you could hear you. ANDTOTOPITOFFITWASLIKE90DEGREESINTHEROOM! Everyone was sweating, the table next to us asked about the a/c the server said there was nothing he could do. The server never came and asked us what our drink was therefore we only drank water. We didn’t get a complimentary glass of champagne as was advertised. It was an overall FAIL! If I wasn’t with my fiancé, in heels and sweating like I was in Aruba it would’ve been going DOWN.

I am thinking more 3.5 starts, but definitately not 4. Went a little on the late side with my friend on a Friday night. The vibe was a bit odd to me, kind of like a club, felt cold. Food was good, service was pretty good, just nothing special worth going back when there are so many other options. I did like that they offered ½ bottles of wine. Because sometimes 1 bottle isn’t enough and 2 is too much. :)

Have been planning on trying this place out for a while now, and decided to take the wifey there for valentines day. It is beautiful inside décor and ambiance is delightful. Drinks were strong and appetizers were good although they didn’t have a big menu. pork belly was not the best. tuna tare tare was great French onion soup was great. Crab cake was also good a bit small but not bad. Now we got the steak for 2 and it came out over cooked for sure. Hash Browns just taste like potatoes nothing extraordinary and shrimp used in the shrimp Mac and cheese was not fresh. They ran out of lobster so no lobster Mac. Way over priced for everything not to be perfect. Spent $ 300 with a $ 50 tip because I’m not a douche. That kind of money anywhere else would have been better spent.

My first time to a restaurant ever where the waiter actually hand wrote a 20% tip himself where it said«tip.» Shocking. Is that even legal? Food and ambiance were great though.

Happy hour is amazing here! Drinks are strong & not watered down. There’s a whole wall of liquor! You can order any drink on the menu and have them switch the liquor to your preference. I ordered a newton’s apple which comes with bourbon, and asked if they can make it with tequila instead. They were very accommodating. They also have $ 1 oysters until 7pm here. Service is really good here and I’m always able to spark up a conversation with one of the bartenders. All items on the bar menu is half off during happy hour. Fish tacos, charcuterie and short rib sliders are a must here! ANDDON’T FORGETTHEGRILLEDCHEESE(THERE’S GRANNYSMITHAPPLES&BACONINIT, WHODOESN’T LOVEBACONNN?) ANDTHEOYSTERS :)

My fiancé and I am a huge fan of S-prime. We love their porter house for 2 and their tomato w– their fresh mozarella that they make in their kitchen. Their steak sauces definitely kick it up a notch. Their fresh oysters are to die for! It melts in your mouth. Overall, this spot is an absolutely shocker to be located in Long Island city. Such a fine fine dining spot!

My gf talked this place up for a long time. Recently we went and used our Groupon. On a positive note, I like that they offer Groupon deals. Also, the bartender is a pro and very nice. As for the food, the bread and sides were excellent, but the wet-aged meat tasted like something I could have prepared at home. The steak was fine, but not what I consider to be Steakhouse quality. If I’m gonna spend a lot of money on a steak, I want dry-aged meat that blows me away. I would go back to the bar and maybe try the burger… but don’t think I would order another steak here.

Another 5 star review. Home made mozzarella, hash brown, and creamed spinach are hard to beat. Porterhouse was great and the warm apple tart was one of the best desserts I’ve had. Good wine selection, nice ambiance. A little off the the beaten path in industrial LIC is the only reason you won’t need a reservation. That’s also a plus. They slice the porterhouse a little thinner and with a lot of jus… very nice.

I came here with my date for dinner on New Year’s Eve, I’ve been here several times and enjoyed the food and atmosphere so I was looking forward to dining here again. I get there and they spring the news that it’s a pre-set menu and nothing else can be prepared or added to the meals. The menu consisted of a small appetizer which was mostly salads, a small steak portion with a side and a slice of cake for dessert for $ 80 a person. I’m kinda trapped since I traveled all the way out here and it’s already late so I’m not going to be able to find anything else at this time so we stayed. I had a small salad with the filet which was about 6 ounces on top of a spoon full of mashed potatoes and a slice of cheesecake for dessert, my date had a small salad along with a few cut up pieces of sirloin with French fries or «steak fries» and a slice of coconut cake for dessert. The food overall wasn’t bad, nor spectacular. My date had a glass of wine and I had a soda since I was driving, the check comes and they already added on the 18% gratuity even though it was just the two of us. The portions compared to the value was very disappointing, we enjoyed the regular menu and felt we got our money’s worth whenever we came the previous times, this last visit had us leaving hungry, disappointed, and mostly feeling ripped off.

This place is amazing. It’s a trendy atmosphere and the wait staff are really nice and attentive. I recommend the homemade warm mozzarella and tomatoes, the porterhouse, the hash browns, and the creamed spinach. I also really like how they give out a little something extra compliments of the chef, tonight was a shot of lobster bisque. Everything is so good!

I wanted to say something but we didnt have time to talk to the manager because we had to leave for another plan. When we got there we had a menu which is fixed price. This is what i dont like. We didnt get any information there was a fixed price menu only by email or phone call at all. And the price was 99dollars per person. Comparing with the foods tastes and everything, 99dollars per person is too much for the dinner in Queens. Plus they have put 18% tip on the bill automatically. I dont think it is right seriously. We were not even a group, it was just me and my husband. We didnt say anything but my husband found a grey hair in the sauce or on the steak. Spending 300dollars over there is too much honestly. Actually we found this restaurant on the online. The picture looks so much better than the real. Plus the music was i dont know, maybe they played the music like that because tonite was a holiday but the songs were so old styled dance songs, didnt match to a steakhouse at all. The waitress was great but the food quality and music stuff were so bad. I havent written a review for a restaurant but i should say something about this restaurant.

Being a professional curmudgeon, I really wish there were something I could gripe about. Alas, this is as close to a perfect steakhouse as you will find in New York City. Yes, my girlfriend’s birthday dinner was rudely interrupted by a catfight taking place on the balcony above us. However, I can’t honestly blame the owners of S Prime for a rogue patron. Otherwise, it was a splendid evening. Plenty of room, adequate noise level, and a 3 hour-long happy hour! The food was exquisite, albeit on the fattening side-I guess we have ourselves to blame for that. An intense grilled cheese sandwich, crisp zucchini chips, and bacon-infused everything! This really was a pleasant surprise and reaffirms my belief that Queens has the best culinary culture in New York City.

Food was very good. I am happy that I came here with my friends, they were fun. My friends are great — Joey, has great beard. Chris, thanks for the invite. Dc, always open for a joke. Suppa, ordered a martini. Cam, said his burger was good. Me, steak was well done and I enjoyed hanging out with my friends.

Pretty solid happy hour spot with half off drinks at the bar only. Their prickly pear margarita packs a punch! pretty strong cocktail if you ask me. They have dollar oysters during happy hour! i believe their happy hour is from 5 – 8 pm. Their fish tacos also on the happy hour menu is pretty good. I haven’t had dinner there yet, but will definitely make some time to dine here for dinner.

I had a $ 100 for $ 50 Groupon that had expired long ago, but I still wanted to use the $ 50 that I had paid. Not sure if S Prime is worth the trek out to Queens, especially when there are plenty of other comparable steakhouses in the Manhattan area, but I thought we had a pretty great experience. The menu is quite typical for a steakhouse. After ordering, they came around with complimentary pretzel breadsticks and corn chowder(in shot glasses w/a splash of chili oil). The breadsticks were a little tooo salty for my taste, but the corn chowder was delicious. I wish we’d gotten more! :9 We ordered one of the specials, which was a grilled octopus dish. It was a fantastic choice, and I’m glad it came highly recommended! This wasn’t just some regular ol’ baby octopus either, this was some grown octopus tentacles that had been sliced and grilled and served on a plate with sauteed potatoes and a bed of greens. We also ordered the JR’s Dry-Aged Cheeseburger and the Prime Sirloin Flap Steak(medium), which were both fantastic options. I was really craving a burger, so the cheeseburger — with all of its toppings — really hit the spot! The Flap Steak was delicious as well. The chimichurri was a little bland, but otherwise the meat was cooked perfectly. All in all, it was a worthy meal! I appreciate that their menu has a really broad range of prices(from $ 18 burgers to $ 92 hanger steaks), so you can definitely find anything to fit your budget. Our total bill came out to be $ 80 for the two of us(including the glass of wine I ordered), which wasn’t bad considering how much food we got! In case you were interested in HH, just note that it’s only applicable at the bar. If you are seated at a table, you won’t be able to order from the HH menu. BOOOO!

I almost gave em 5 stars. First of all, when we got in, we were early for our reservation, so we acually had to wait until the exact time. We actually had to wait an additional 10 minutes, but thats nothing to bitch about. For our patience, the manager gave us a nice big, cushioned, corner table. We ordered two 42oz porterhouse steaks with garlic mash potatoes and Lap Choeng Fried Rice. The porterhouse was out of this world. Enormous; unlike a lot of other places that advertise their porterhouse steak as «good for 2 people», when in reality they arent. The manager didnt think we could finish them. A little pricy, but in reality if youre going to dine in this place, you shouldnt be counting pennies. It was very tasty and tender. The meat couldve been cut with a butter knife. Its wasnt all charred and burnt. The mash potatoes werent bad; i just wish they added more butter. The fried rice wasnt bad either, but it didnt taste like pork fried rice, the way the waiter had described it. Speaking of waiter, Wilson was very attentive. Even though he was handling two other huge parties, he didnt forget about us. For dessert we ordered the chocalte pecan tart and the coconut cake. Both were exquisite. I wish i had ordered 1 of each After we were done, the manager thanked us for coming and invited us to watch the Mayweather fight, in the upper level of the restaurant. I’ll definately be coming again

My boyfriend had bought a groupon for lobster streak deal. We went couple days before the groupon expired and it seemed everyone there was using groupons so it was really hard to judge the ambience. But overall I really enjoyed the meal and the drinks there. I recommend the cajun steak it was subtle but different. I would be little aggressive about expressing how your steak should be prepared because mine came out little more medium then medium rare.

Came in with a groupon for an appetizer, frozen lobster and porterhouse. SOUNDSAMAZING right. it was a joke: see the deductions below: 1) cannot order appetizer from main menu, we could only pick from the special pre-fix, so no crab cake even though my groupon didn’t set limits on appetizers. fine, i don’t want to argue –1 star 2) they KNOW we ordering a big steak & a lobster– you giving us a tiny table for two– but we barely had space for our pates and drinks. restaurant was not packed & i see other 2 people parties with a larger square table. why not a bigger table for us? not right –1 star 3) Guess who was the waitress… the infamous Adeline! no water for a good 10 minutes and she comes by to quickly take our order– hurry in & hurry out, but she makes sure to write the FULLVALUE on your bill!!! so TIPUP you yuppies! –1 star

My first time here I hit the happy hour 5−7pm at bar side which makes me very happy. The bar snack food is all worthy of a try. We ordered about 6 – 7 coursers I have to say I almost love all of them. Calamari tempura is extra crispy coz they fried them in a way like they making tempura. Smart and thumb up! The sliders r cute and really flavorful. I can tell the beef is selected. Maple glazed bacon is a must try if you like thick bacon. It is a bit chewy for someone but ok for me. That s what bacon suppose to be. Last thing to mention but the best out of all is the shot of soup called loberster bisque the chef gave us for sampler is going to be the first one I order next time. I am expecting to come soon again and bring friends.

Did the manager of this business change or something? It turned so ghetto since the last time I stepped into this place. We got one of the most horrible services from our waitress, Adelina. She basically paid us no mind, never came around to fill up our waters, or ask if we needed anything. She shoved the prix-fixe menu in my friend’s face. Like we get it… we order from that menu, but can we peacefully order other shit from the main menu? Jesus F. Christ. Was it because we were the only Asians there? Was it because we looked fairly young? Was it because we were using a Groupon deal? I don’t know. But I never wanted to walk out from a restaurant without paying until tonight. The two stars are for the food.(I thought really hard about how many stars I should give this place. Two is being generous.) The service was a –1 but there’s no option for that. The butter for our freaking lobster condensed into a paste-like substance because we were waiting on the bitch of a waitress to come around. The fact that our butter hardened goes to show how long she ignored us for. I am pretty sure that I will never come back here. Not because of just one shitty waitress, but because of how rundown this place got. S Prime used to be one of my favorite restaurants in Queens. After tonight, I think I would’ve gotten better service at Uno’s Pizzeria, which is also in the vicinity of this shithole. Also, the music choices were BLAH. One of the douchebag employees had to come back TWICE to change the music station. Really!!! I CANNOT. SODONE with this place.

S Prime Steakhouse is a hidden gem in Kaufman Studios/Astoria Queens neighborhood. S Prime has an elegant yet laid back feel serving high quality bovine cuts cooked to perfection. I’ve dined ala carte and on promotional dining deals and the consistency is always above par. Recently, dined on a promotion deal of a shared appetizer and porterhouse entrée and bottle of wine and our meal was superb. The chef always sends a complimentary tasting to the table. This time, it was a lobster bisque shooter and prior dining was a pork belly served on frisee salad. SP offers an extensive wine list and imported whiskey/bourbon selections even Japanese Yamazaki, Hibiki and Hakushu. They have private dining rooms above the main dining floor that can host a dinner party of 10 – 12 to 45 people – perfect for VIP, a birthday or anniversary celebration. Factoid: The business partners own the square block of retail businesses(Steakhouse, Studio Square Beer Garden and Studio Square Venues)

I took my family to S Prime for Surf & Turf Dinner to celebrate CNY on Wednesday night. From appetizer, main course to dessert, everything was cooked to our liking =) and service was very welcoming. I have to say their foie gras is simply amazing !!! It is my «must order» appetizer for every visit. As far as aged steaks, sirloin, rib eye and signature porterhouse are all cooked to perfection — juicy, tender and melting-in-your-mouth. The salted baked brazino would be a great choice for non meat lovers. This was my 4th visit since I discovered this quality steakhouse in Long Island City since October 2014 and I couldn’t wait to go back ^0^

Great place to eat if your ready for a $$$$ bill. Definitely worth every penny. My girlfriend and I went here and gotten the dinner special 1 appetizer 1 lobster and 142oz. Porterhouse everything cooked to perfection. But!!! What really made the experience ***** stars is the service. Our waiter katelyn(actual spelling) she was great always prompt with service. I can’t quite explain why she’s so good at what she does but if you go and ask for Katelyn you’ll understand. So definitely 5stars thanks to her. On a side note its funny because she looks like Kristen Bell so it’s like a celebrity was serving us.

Great Astoria steakhouse restaurant in the Kaufman Studios corridor. The whole block seems to be owned by the Studio Square group which also have the beer garden, event space, and now the steakhouse. Great service. Ample space. Bar area is a great spot to hang out with a beer. They also have a great happy hour deal on alcohol with tap beer at $ 4 and oysters and clams for a $ 1. Win Win. Dinner was great as we had the chopped salad. Super fresh ingredients and flavorful. I had the cajun ribeye which was a huge portion with wonderful fat to protein content. Nice char and flavor. The side was the special that day the mushroom risotto which was cooked perfectly. Chef even provided a complimentary lobster bisque tonight as well as coming around each table to see that everything was well. Nice attentive service from the staff. Dessert was the bourbon pecan pie which i loved with the caramel ice cream. With the wonderful oysters at happy hour and a great dinner i will be back.
