Food is decent but nothing to write home about. Service has been pretty bad every time I’ve been in there. I have come here on several occasions for lunch and ordered their specialty, which is rotisserie chicken and had lunch ruined because it took them almost an hour to get it ready. Place is small, but its doesnt take that long to get chicken with rice and beans out to the table. Stopped going here all together and will never go back due to the service.

My friend and I went in here for lunch and it was buzzing with lots of people. It’s a somewhat small space but somehow fits so many people! I had the shrimp ceviche(~$ 13) which was pretty good. but had just too much onions. Otherwise, the shrinp was fresh and the taste was pretty good(very lemon-y. If you’re like me and spritz lemon every chance you get in whatever dish, you’ll love this). If you eat a lot though, be advised that the portion is small. My friend had the steak with rice which she said tasted pretty good. It looked yummy too! The portion also seemed appropriate for lunch. Our waiter was nice and attentive. He guided us through the menu and suggested dishes he liked. Not too bad of a place to try if in the area.

Not impressed. Thought I would be with the avocado sauce that was served with the complimentary chips. That was delish! But the rest of the food was sad… I ordered the ribs combo with salad and fried yucca. The ribs were undercooked, fatty, and not seasoned at all. Just bland, undercooked meat. I pounded salt and pepper on but to no avail. I got about 5 pieces of yucca. So much for a side. the salad was a great sized portion but no dressing. Shame since there is not a ton to choose from in the area for lunch. I won’t be back.

Got seamless, it took 10 minutes to get to my apartment. Ordered the half chicken, rice and beans, sweet plantains. Also had the empanadas, they werent my favorite but were sweet, tasted like fried dough with cheese. Yummy, but I was wanting to be healthy. It was a delicious meal and plenty for 2 people. All the people we talked to were super nice. Would definitely go back!

This is a very nice place. I ordered for delivery and it was fairly quick(about 45 mins). I think the prices are good. I tried the fish ceviche, which maybe the fish was not of the finest quality but it tasted really really good! The problem was that the portion was extremely small, it looked more like an appetizer. I also tried the avocado salad, which was good along with the dressing. And the chicken with rice and beans, the chicken was very good and the beans ok but the rice could use a little bit more flavor, it was a bit bland. Overall it is a nice place, I would give it 3.5 stars if I could. I recommend it.

You know what I like about this restaurant? The food is well seasoned without being over-seasoned like some South American restaurants I’ve been to. I came here after searching for something healthy but hearty for lunch. The smell is what drew me in. After looking at the menu I decided on an avocado salad and added shrimp for completion. I ordered it to go and it took about twenty minutes to prepare before they told me it was ready. When I sat down to eat it I was immediately enticed by the flavors of garlic and onion and the freshness of the greens from the salad. I’ve also been here twice before with friends and had a more filling lunch of mixed seafood ceviche, which I highly recommend. I’ll be back again and suggest that everyone visit this place.

The rotisserie chicken is Good. The price here is also a great deal. Their sauces are delicious although today they forgot it(and they charged me for it) it’s only $.50 but I was really looking forward to it. The food is still pretty good without it. ¼ Chkn w 2sides w the extra sauce $ 9.49 ||||| Sweet Plantains $ 4.99

Came here after a great Warm Up Saturday at MoMa PS1 with a group of my buddies. We were given complementary chips with green sauce which were fantastic. I started with the cuban corn which I recall enjoying but also thinking that the cotija cheese was very light and sparse. I followed up with a spare ribs combo with rice and beans. The food was generously portioned and the rice and beans couldn’t have been any better. Unfortunately, I took one bite of the spare ribs and stopped there. It honestly made my stomach turn and I lost my appetite. not sure what happened there but the meat was a total miss.

Great place to go with a casual group of friends. My coworkers and I went there just for lunch and each of us had a great meals, the rice was made to perfection as well as the meat and also they have choices for vegetarians and fish eaters. The food has great taste I will recommend this place for a casual get together just keep in mind it’s a very small place so there is not much space to walk around

Stopped by this place after some friends recommended it and ordered food to go(the chicken, beef and cheese empanadas, avocado salad, half rotisserie chicken in a combo with fried plantains). What a huge disappointment! The beef empanadas were blah, the chicken empanadas were all peas and potatoes(seriously, I had to go on a search expedition to find any meat in there), the avocado salad was sorely lacking in Avocado, the chicken was dry and not tasty(I threw most of it away) and I have no idea how good the plantains are because when I unpacked my food at home I realized that they were missing. I thought of calling of going back as I had paid for them but figured it wasn’t worth the hassle. I give this place one extra star because the cheese empanadas were amazing(as was the shell of all empanadas in general).

I’ve been here once for lunch a while back, and per visiting cousins’ request for Peruvian food, we came here. Ordered the chicken and ribs family meal for four of us and added a side of maduros. Complimentary chips and green sauce. The chips had oil dripping from them. I guess whoever is working with the fryer needs to drain better cuz the fries were extra greasy. The family meal comes with a whole chicken, ribs, rice, beans, fries, salad for about $ 40. Great deal. Stuffed 4 of us really well. Everything was good, ribs were ok. A little dry. It’s sorta in an odd location. So unless u’re in the area, it’s not really somewhere to travel to.

Horrible sirloin steak…(Supposed to be lomo saltado) it was a very cheap thin cut of meat, soggy fries and only the rice was ok. Very expensive for what you get.

Great lunch special for the LIC area. ~10 dollars for a well-rounded meal. The complimentary chips with the green sauce of the gods on the side are the perfect way to start the meal. I’ve had their rotisserie chicken and a fried, breaded chicken cutlet that were part of their lunch specials. The rotisserie chicken was juicy and flavorful with a cute little salad on the side, but the cutlet was incredibly thin to the point where it almost looked like fish a tiny fish strip. The cutlet dish was saved by the grilled, skewered corn topped with some light cheese and spices. YUM. I’m a fan. Another spot to add to my lunch list.

Rare to find an inexpensive and authentic Peruvian experience in NYC. Best $ 10 or less you’ll spend on dinner in NYC. Rotisserie is delicious and a huge portion. Doubled up on the habichuelas, don’t pass those up!

The Inkan offers filling food with fairly generous portions, but the taste just isn’t quite there — I was expecting delicious, savory flavors and instead found the chicken and rice pretty bland. I got a half chicken: skin looked great but didn’t pack a whole lot of flavor, and the meat was a little dry. The meal I ordered also came with three sides, and I picked the rice and beans, salad, and sweet plantains. Rice and beans were barely seasoned, the salad was fine, though I was expecting more taste from the green sauce, but the plantains redeemed the meal: they were gooey and packed with delicious caramelly flavor. The mamey juice I ordered had, surprise, not that much flavor(though it’s a bland fruit anyway), but did seem to have been made fresh. I also really enjoyed the alfajores cookie, with its cornstarchy, fine crumb and delicious caramel filling. Main pros: it’s cheap and portions are huge. However, the food just isn’t that delicious and there are other options in the area.

So I kept hearing that they are hit or miss, so I waited to review them until I had the same thing twice. I only have pick up order experience with them. Friendly and fast service. One of the cheapest hefty meals in the neighborhood. Had their chicken. I absolutely loved it both times. I like dark meat so both times I had dark. But one of the times I ordered the half chicken so my husband can have the breast. He was not amused. I tried a piece; yeah it’s not the most juicy… But cmon… It’s chicken breast. They give you this green sauce that’s, to me, a cross between a guasacaca sauce and runny guacamole. I love this stuff with my chicken! Their side dishes are just okay. Nothing too special. I will keep going back there for their dark chicken!

I’m sorry to only give this place two stars. When it’s good, it’s good. I usually get the avocado salad with shrimp. However I often order through Seamless, which A. Can take a very long time(or sometimes very short; totally unpredictable) and B. !!Has a track record of screwing up the order!!! Today I ordered my salad with shrimp — which is $ 2.50 more than chicken! — and I got chicken. I was too hungry to rectify THEIR mistake, which I paid for. Not to mention that they charged me $ 1 for green sauce(you have to pay cash when you get it because there’s no button to add it on the interface), when it’s previously been 50 cents. Just too unreliable, and way too expensive.

While other LIC restaurants offer trendy dishes, The Inkan offers a MEAL/Borderline a Feast! You will definitely be full at the end of your dinning experience. Whether you want to believe this or not, I had a late lunch here and was full and content for 24 hours before I ate again. In my head and stomach, that’s a quality dinning experience. You won’t be walking away thinking that I am still hungry. The food was overall very good. It wasn’t at the level of a Pio Pio(my standard for all Peruvian), but it holds its own. First off, I enjoyed the chips and green sauce. The chips were tasty and the green sauce wasn’t overpowering. It was just enough heat to excite your taste buds. However, I would like it to be a bit more spicy though. The chicken was moist and decently flavor. The chicken was everything that I expected. The rice & bean and sweet plantain made it a meal for me. While the nay sayers would suggest that I ordered too many sides. My counter is how do you not order rice & bean and plantains. Everything goes together so well. My only caution is that you might experience food coma after the lunch, so you have to be careful now. A very satisfying lunch experience.

This place has a pretty great lunch special for $ 8.99. They give you a side of chips and spicy sauce(not too spicy) while you wait for your meal. The meal itself was delicious. I dig the rice and beans! I even tried to wipe up as much bean sauce as I can with the chicken. The chicken was very moist and juicy. The rib was tender and meat falling off the bone. Next time, i may go for some ceviche to switch it up!
