Rude servers & mediocre food. If that’s your style… It’s not mine, I’ll not be returning.

Been here a number of times for both lunch and dinner. Will probably not return as the food seemed to lack quality and service is lackluster. They could use some new menus and new menu items.

May 22 and I am back! Yes, I am a glutton for good food! Our second trip here to the Pub this month and we spent one dinner at Andrea’s Diner! My wife & I are hooked! Excellent food, good drinks, friendly and helpful staff. And now I have met the owners, Steve & Andrea. I am handicapped and the entire staff goes all out to see that our party is well taken care of. And we saw that we were NOT picked out for special privilege. The staff was great with all their diners! I had the end of season crab cakes. They were sooo tasty. Hate to have to wait till next fall to get them again. Wife had the sauerbraten & Spitzes. Wonderful! Good portions, good food, great assortment! I recommend that you stop by and give your tastebuds a real treat.

This place used to be a really good place to eat. Ordered a prime rib special, medium rare, and it came out cooked to death on one side, and rare on the other, with the rare side up of course to make it look medium rare. I’ve stopped coming here, but every once in a while I forget and come here hoping that it’s going to be good again. It’s not.

Let me start by saying that the issues with service that have come up in other reviews have definitely been fixed. Our server, Luz, was friendly, attentive and competent. We were not ready when she first approached and she actually came back in a timely fashion. Our food came out quickly and she was ready with suggestions about the menu and drinks. To put this into perspective, my wife(one of the cheapest tippers on the planet, much to my shame) suggested a 20% tip, which is only the second time in our ten years together she has ever been that generous. If I could I would give the restaurant a 3.5 but I cannot, so I settled on the four on the basis of service. First off, the beer was not fantastic but it was pretty good. It would have been nice to have a larger variety and selection. I started with the sampler of beers and they are very generous with the pours, especially for the price. None of the brews blew my mind but they were decent and worth checking out if you are a beer fan. We ordered the pub sampler and it was pretty standard bar food. Note that I did not say«pub food» as there is a difference. The sampler was mostly a variety of fried edibles that, to be honest, probably could be found in the freezer section of a grocery store. The fried broccoli was melted cheese with little hints of broccoli sprinkled in. Not a very healthy option, but it is what you would expect from most bars. I will say that the fried pickles were nice, although over cooked. Other than that it was mostly unimpressive. The main courses were very nice but not spectacular. I had the steak sandwich and my wife had the CAB burger. Just an interesting note: they list a «Kobe burger»(Which isn’t a thing outside of Japan) and then state that the burger is made from Wagyu. I am confused why they just don’t call it a «Wagyu Burger». I don’t know if this was an oversight or somebody just not knowing the difference but it stuck out. The steak was cooked nicely, but the whole sandwich was bland. The bread to meat ratio was off and there were some bites that felt more like glorified grilled cheese than steak sandwich. The burger was very good and cooked to perfection. The fries were so-so, a little soggy and nothing special. Some other reviews have mentioned that the food is over-priced. While the price point is not egregiously off point, it is slightly too high for the quality given. All in all the service was very good, the beers were worth checking out but the food was not so great. It is odd because the environment and atmosphere of the Pub is excellent. The inside has a lot of charm and has absolutely gorgeous, rustic stone and wood work. The patio area also looks amazing. The food, however, does not match the charm of the architecture, which is a shame because this could be an amazing place for date nights.

We are new-ish to the area and have been trying all the restaurants around on date night. The Pub was recommended to me by a neighbor and it didn’t disappoint. We had burgers and beer on a cold rainy night. The service was friendly and staffers were walking around the restaurant making sure everyone was happy. Our waitress made a beer recommendation based on my request to have it be not ‘too hoppy’ and it was delicious. The burgers and fries were very good and came out quickly and very hot. The building is old and lovely. I have a pet peeve when restaurants that aren’t diners are too brightly lit. That was not the case here, I liked the whole feel of the place, very comfy and relaxed. Can’t wait to go back on a non rainy night and eat on the patio.

GROUPREVIEW-SUNDAYBRUNCH This location is biker friendly. We have come to this location several times with the Polar Bear Grand Tour. As the motorcycles began to arrive, this place filled up very quick. Our waitress was warm and friendly and immediately took our drink order and offered the buffet or told us we could order off the menu. We opted for the buffet. Don’t freak out with the price of the buffet. They offer, Shrimp, bacon, pasta, prime rib, bacon, omelet station, salad, bacon, pierogi, pancakes, sausage, did I mention bacon… I know I didn’t mention other items but I was distracted by the bacon, sorry. They offered enough choices to please all. Make sure to check both side on the upstairs. Some people fixated on the one side and forgot goodies on the other. Overall, it was a great experience. Its always a pleasure to come here. Definitely check out the Sunday Brunch.

Service was horrific. Couldn’t get the bartenders attention. general poor service all the way around. Person at door collecting cover charge was pick and choose who pays an who doesn’t. Beer was just mediocre and food was decent. Too bad this place has such bad juju.

the food is meh, the atmosphere in the summer is nice there is not other reason to go then to sit outside in a parking lot in the summer(not many places around here have outdoor seating) if your desperate it’s meh oh, and it’s way expensive for pub food!

You come here for the beer! My favorite is the very drinkable Lazy Jake Porter. Usually 5 – 6 brews available. Try a flight! The German food is pretty good, burgers generally good, with the occasional mediocre. Bison burgers are served here.

The 6 beers we tried were average, the best of the 4 was the porter. The food was ok nothing outstanding. I would say the appetizer pretzel sticks with cheese, and dessert the pumpkin cheesecake with pumpkin ice cream were the favorites. The restaurant itself is very nice and our server was extremely friendly and attentive. Overall a nice place in the Long Valley area.

After my terrible encounter with a former waitress, I was contacted by the owner of the restaurant to right the situation and I was very happy with the service I received today. We saw several staff walking around the restaurant to ensure everyone had a good experience. Service was prompt but friendly and the food was delivered fresh and hot. I ordered the stuffed mushroom as an app and the bison burger as the main meal. Yes, the price is pretty high(or so it seems like because I’m poor), but I do feel like people were genuine on making my dining experience awesome. The bison burger was cooked medium rare and very tender. There was so much burger juice that I used to dip my fries. After I had the app, I could barely finished half of the bison burger and I had to ask for a box. Overall, I was quite happy that the owner made up for our earlier experience with a 20% discount on our meal.

Why does this place has an average rating of 3 stars? First of all, it’s a refurbished barn with all the charm in the world. And it makes the best burgers ever. The portabella mushroom burger is my favorite. When I’m hungry, I ask for an additional medium rare patty. It’s perfection. The buns don’t fall apart even with all that filling. The fries are fresh and clearly(I think) not from frozen stock. They also GROWTHEIROWNCUCUMBERS in the warmer months and make them into pickles! I’ve seen customers not eat their pickles. Why? I always ask for an extra bowl of just pickles. Eat your pickles, people! I don’t like beer in general, but everyone else I’ve gone with enjoys their home-brewed beer. The service can be slow because there are always people. I’d recommend going early as it gets busy quick. The staff is considerate and the owners go around making sure everyone’s having a good time.

Will never ever ever go back there again. There tonite with wife and another couple. A waitress tried to balance too many drinks and spilled an entire glass of wine down my back. The back of my shirt was soaked. One customer actually approached me and offered me a shirt he retrieved from his car, which was very nice. The waitress did apologize. About 10 minutes later, while I am still standing at my table still trying to dry my shirt, the manager approached and offered me some club soda. Was I going to wash the entire back of my shirt in club soda? The manager NEVER apologized or offered to pay for 1 drink, pick up one appetizer or offer an apology.

I haven’t been here in a fee months after the experience we had. Me and my fiancée went in for dinner after recently moving to the area. We had several people tell us we had to try the place out so we were excited to try it out. In short, the service was poor. Hostess didn’t acknowledge us even though we said hello and stood there for several minutes. We were sat upstairs, waited a long time for our server, to place our drink and food orders, to get refills, or check up on us after receiving food. As far as the food was concerned, it was poorly prepared and highly overpriced. The wing sauce was bland, and the half chicken half rack of rib special was old, dry, and served warm. The only thing this place has going for it is the building itself, and the beer selection. Would we give it another try? Yes, but if we have the same experience, never again…

You can choose between indoor seating or an outdoor bar. They brew their own beer. Try them all and see what one you like. I have been here several times and the food always seems to be just OK. Nothing special but not bad. Pretty much what you would expect from a bar. Whether inside or out, the décor is nice. There is a parking lot with plenty of parking.

Four stars for the beer! I always look forward to a Hookerman when I’m in the area. Three stars for the food which has never really impressed me. Stopped in for lunch the other day. Rare burger with sautéed onions for me. A pound of «naked» wings and onion rings for my son. Nice looking burger. Wish it was rare instead of medium. Wish the bun was toasted. My son thought the wings were just ok. His fault. He should have ordered them sauced. He’ll learn. Fries and rings were excellent. Our server never cracked a smile but we were attended to promptly and efficiently. Like I said, four stars for the beer. Come for the beer. Food is secondary.
