Sad to say I won’t be going to the Catfish King again. It’s hard to underwhelm me when it comes to seafood cause it’s my fav, but they did just that. It was very bland; next to no seasoning, & the sides were atrocious. On top of that I made it to my room only to find out that my order wasn’t even completely right. I gave them a call to let them know & I was told that they would provide a replacement when I return & that was good on their part. It was after I hung up the phone I began to eat that I realized I wouldn’t be returning to pickup that replacement, & that’s saying a lot coming from me. Hay to each his own though, you can try it for yourself, you might feel differently, but for me it’s not my cup of tea.

This place used to be great. What happened? The employees were very nice… the prices were reasonable… but the atmosphere is like a funeral home. There’s a picture of Charlie Pride near the register but that’s as close to music as it gets. The catfish were tough… the hush puppies were nothing but fried dough. Time for a re-assessment of the business. Play some music and make sure every plate of food that comes out of that window is something the employees can feel proud to serve.

I don’t know how Catfish King does it. Seriously; it is ALWAYS good. Sometimes I get hungry for fried food and, usually, when you see fried food in bins behind the counter it is going to be soggy and overcooked. Catfish King has crisp, salty, delicious fish, period. Somehow they deliver every time. Not greasy. The fries are good, the hush puppies, the slaw the beans, and the drinks. That is all I have ever had, but I will be honest, I am a picky eater and it is always good, Depending on which restaurant you go to. It is typically an older crowd and very quiet. I usually get mine to go.
