We got in town at 9:45pm on a Friday with 3 restless kids that were solely focused on swimming in a hotel pool. By the time we got unpacked and stowed away in the room, it was a few minutes after 10, and the pool had closed. Without making a big fuss, the young man at the front desk offered to let us swim for about half an hour as long as we stayed quiet. This might seem like a trivial concession to many folks, but it made our lives much easier. In succession, our kids endured a 3 hour car ride, followed immediately by a 2.5 hour wedding rehearsal dinner, so that half hour of after hours pool time probably saved our trip, haha! The breakfast was good — bonus points for a Texas-shaped waffle — standard muffins, cereal, with hot sausage and eggs.
