Understaffed but excellent service and the food was great! I had the Pork Schnitzel. Really good.

Went here with a co-worker at lunch time. The service was very friendly and attentive and the atmosphere was appealing. The quality of the food was just OK. The creamy potato soup was great, but the steak sandwich I ordered was a bit bland. My co-worker’s salad was the same story. Overall, not bad for the price, although we ordered off the lunch menu, but I probably wouldn’t come back.

Been a couple times, and never impressed. Gave it one more shot, and was not surprised. Very slow, and inattentive service. However, the food was decent.

I took my family of 5 here. My daughter has lived in longview for awhile, she didn’t realize this gem was going to be so great. We had appetizers, main course, and desserts. We shared each other food. The food, service and atmosphere was fantastic. Will be going here often. The menu changes every 3 months. Thank you for such a pleasure surprise.

The atmosphere is wonderful, quiet and relaxing. Not stuffy like some upscale restaurants can be. The server was attentive and knowledgable of the menu. I had the crab cake appetizer with crawfish étouffée, it was good, the crab wasn’t as lumped as I like and was a little soft. The étouffée… I used my roll to get every drop. For an entrée I had flounder stuffed with crab. Thank goodness there was asparagus on the plate, everything had the same mushy texture, fish, crab and mashed potatoes. It was also a little greasy. The flavor was decent. They do have dessert, chocolate lava cave, no lava, dry and slightly crusty. But it has a good chocolate flavor. I will try this place again, because the ambiance is so relaxing and the menu looks good, but next time order something different.

Business lunch– I keep forgetting about this place. Maybe because I don’t come downtown as much as I should. By far, the best establishment in DT Longview. Quiet, decent service and the food is really good. The only knock is the waitress didn’t come back after dropping off the food until she was ready to give me the check. My water went into drought. Other than that hickup, I’ll make a point to come back more often.

Wow! What an upscale venue for East Texas. Both menu and atmosphere are exceptionally well put together and make for a wonderful evening out. Service: We arrived right at opening on a Thursday evening. Service was excellent. Ambiance: Wonderful, low key, quiet setting. Low lights but not so low as to be inconvenient. Dark wood and well organized dining sections. Food: Many delicious options with a bistro flare but not so exotic as to be formidable. A wonderful mix of old favorites(fried chicken) and current trends(sesame crusted ahi tuna). We were in a bit of a rush, so did not order appetizers. Waiter promptly brought a basket of bread«pillows» which were warm, yeasty, delicious. Nice wine list, but we did order by the glass. Zinfandel was fruity and spicy; Merlot was nice as well. Ordered and enjoyed all of the following: — Fried chicken breast over mashed potatoes — Duck over bacon infused mashed potatoes with portabella mushroom and colored pepper sauté — Angel hair pasta with lump crab meat(enough for two) with a generous helping of crab — Sesame seared ahi tuna. The waiter graciously asked how it was to be cooked and didn’t even smirk when we asked for medium. No dessert this trip, but we will definitely be back. Total charge for 4 diners with two glasses of wine was about $ 125 before tip.

Well, you know you’re life is in a low place when you’ve resorted to writing Unilocal reviews in Longview, Texas. Haha! But in all seriousness, I highly doubt there’s a better restaurant in Longview, aside from the two little Japanese and Thai gems. The food is French/generic European-inspired without diverting too far from the East Texas comfort zone. You’ll find everything from salmon to lamb to chicken and filet mignon. I personally always get the duck(cooked to a perfect medium-rare) and the spinach strawberry salad. In fact, all of their salads are quite delicious although I’ve yet to try the crab and avocado salad, which sounds amazing as well. If you can, ask for the southwestern salad — it’s 100 times better than it sounds and has this incredibly spicy dressing, which is sort of rare for me to say given my high tolerance to heat. The drinks come from Gerald’s Martini Bar next door and are always fabulous(although I wish they carried ginger beer). I recommend the bloody mary — extra spicy, of course. The atmosphere is quiet but welcoming and the prices are on point — great date spot, gents! ;)

Tyler Street Bistro is a hidden gem right in the heart of downtown Longview. Very limited seating and parking, I encourage you to beat the lunch and dinner rush if at all possible. If you are a burger fanatic like myself, they have a delicious Kobee beef burger. On days you want to eat healthy, Tyler Street Bistro prepares a mean cobb salad with really good thousand island dressing(might be homemade — but not sure). I heard the chicken spaghetti is really good, but I think it is only offered on Wednesday’s. The Tiramisu is AMAZING! I am not a huge coffee fanatic but this is one hell of a dessert. The iron railings and the décor makes you feel like you are eating at a bistro in New Orleans. Gerald is a true restauranteur. He will walk around to every table and ask the customers how the food is. You won’t find hospitality like that at many restaurants.

We’ve been here three times so far and I really like it. The enchilada soup comes in a HUGE portion and has an amazing flavor. My husband likes to go on Wednesdays when the special is chicken spaghetti. I have had the southwest chicken salad and their Cesar and I cannot decide which one I like better. THe service is usually pretty good and the staff is always friendly.

This is one of our favorite restaurants both for lunch and for dinner. My favorite for lunch is the Cobb Salad. The salad is served in a large, dinner-sized pasta bowl. I always get this with the House Balsamic dressing — I can’t even describe what this tastes like — it is just REALLY good! Thick and flavorful! Lunch usually runs around $ 10, a little more if you have something other than water to drink. For dinner, my husband and I have tried a variety of entrees here. All are good. The only thing I can complain about is that the entrees are pricey, and don’t come with a dinner salad — it is an extra $ 4-$ 6 — but we spend the money and ALWAYS get the warm spinach salad — yummy with warm bacon dressing. This salad is topped with what the chef calls«tobacco onions» — they are baked onions with some kind of batter. Please understand these tobacco onions are one of the main reasons I LOVE this restaurant. I usually order anything that has these on it! All that said, again, we love this restaurant. Oh, and do try the crème brûlée — very good too!

Service was great and food was ok. The portions of food should have been better for the price. The menu was priced to high and no desert offerings on the menu. We went Friday night around 6:30 and there was only about 10 people in the restaurant which I found to be very slow for a Friday night. I think it would make a great piano bar for the downtown area.

If there’s a better restaurant in Longview, I ain’t seen it. There were a few things lacking here and there, but overall I really enjoyed the place. OK, the good, decent wine list(great for local, heck HAVING one is great around here). Food was great, well prepared. Had the micro greens salad, rack of lamb, and chocolate mousse, all 4 stars anywhere. What was lacking? The laminated menus really seemed out of place, considering the nice interior and the fact they’re going for a fine dining experience. Leave that shit for Waffle House. Wine list was clumsily put together, MS word ain’t THAT hard to use people, and no years were listed at all. They also didn’t pour me a taste to see if the bottle was good or not, just poured a whole glass. The portions were slightly on the skimpy side too. All in all, minor things, and I was pretty grateful to have a really good meal.
