Update to this review: Sad story here. As of March 2014 the previous owner, Gary C. Williams of Woodbridge VA passed away. Apparently the business has been taken into bankruptcy, as of March 12, about one year after Gary Williams passed. Details are available at
If you have equipment still at the business I suggest contacting the attorney representing Belmont Power at Represented By Gregory H. I turned in my snow blower to be serviced on 11 November 2014. It was due to be fixed by 16 December 2014. On 18 December, I was contacted by a technician, and he told me I needed a new carburetor(that is what I told him in November), and he would have to order one for me. I called several more times since then and was finally told two weeks ago that the part came in. I called yesterday(16 February 2015), and the recording stated Belmont had changed its hours fro 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. I drove by and waited with 6 other gentlemen until 10:30. No one was at their shop, and no one answered their phone. There was a large trash bin out back with old lawn mower and snow blower parts in it. One of the gentlemen standing there was told to only bring cash as they no longer accept checks or credit cards. I wonder if they are going out of business? I called again this morning. No answer. Poor service. No customer service at all! At this point, I just want to get my snow blower back.

We bought a 42″(107 cm) TimeCutter® SS4235(74633) in May 2013 which came with a 3 year warranty. After experiencing some starting issues with the mower and attempting to address the issue with a new battery, we gave these guys a call. Their response was quite poor. They accused us of purchasing the unit from Home Depot and did not want to honor the warranty. To quickly dismiss our request and make up an excuse of not getting the mower from their location was very disappointing after spending $ 2700+. I would not consider choosing this location again.

I bought a $ 3 part for my lawn mower over 3 weeks ago. I still haven’t received it. They always tell me it will be in the next day, «probably». They always tell me they will call me to update me if it came in. They never call. I have stopped by twice and call numerous times. They always have no idea what the status is, or tell me it was sent to the wrong dealer, or the manufacture never sent it. All I want is my $ 3 part. I wrote this review while on hold with them again. I am all for supporting local businesses instead of Home Depot, but not when the experience is like this. Worst customer service ever.

Excellent service, straight forward and knowledgable clerks. Good prices for the higher end equipment they sell and service.

I went there for to buy a zero turn mower and the salesman himself suggested me that home depot is a better place to buy. Also, I learned from other people that there prices are higher and have a very unprofessional customer service.

We were looking for a Honda generator, and Belmont was only one of four stores in the area that sold what we were looking for per the site. Out of the four stores associated with , Belmont’s price was the best. The retail store is in a warehouse-looking building, the store door is inconspicuously on the side, and the store itself is very clean and well organized. It’s definitely a mom & pop store, which I prefer to support. They seem to have top-of-the-line items in their little shop from pro-sumer to professional leaf vacuums, lawn mowers, generators, chain saws, etc. My honey was like a kid in a candy shop. What they didn’t have in stock, they could order for us. It also seems that most items are ~10% off of MSRP, but don’t quote me on that. Do not expect for your trip to Belmont to be quick. Their employees take as much time as needed to work with each customer, so you may have to wait a little bit for an employee to get to you like we did. However, once we were waited on, we were never talked down to, the man answered all of our novice questions, helped us calculate the wattage we would need for a generator, and helped us research any other questions we had. We ended up buying a 5000W instead of 6500W; the employee did not try to sell«up» — rather he seemed to sell us what we needed saving us a lot of money. Also, do not expect to be out of there quickly once you’ve paid for your item(s)(Yes, we ended up buying a leaf vacuum, too, since we had just saved a bunch of money buying a generator with less wattage than we had planned.) They took both the generator and leaf vacuum to the back and serviced it; put some fuel in them; oiled them both; tested each feature, outlet, ignition, etc.; and then bought it out and showed us exactly how to use both the vacuum and generator. In other words, we know they are both going to work when we need them. Then they loaded it up for us and were super cautious about making sure not to scratch our truck. Holy cow, the service was way better than I have ever been getting at the large-chain stores! It seems that their big money maker is servicing equipment. There were MANY lawn mowers, vacuums, etc. outside of the shop waiting to be serviced. It had started to sprinkle while we were waiting for our equipment to be serviced, and a few guys ran out of the garage area and brought all of the stuff inside to protect them from the rain. I know it seems lame to be going on and on about these guys, but thank goodness for the mom & pops who still provide service rather than just trying to sell us something. (I also posted a picture so you can see that the store-front door is just an inconspicuous entrance in a warehouse-looking building.)

Great place to do business and get repairs. I’ve been to other repair businesses. Belmont delivers when they say and at the right prices. During the summer they do same day blade sharpening at no extra cost.

Couldn’t be happier with their straight forward service. I wanted a Honda generator, they quoted me a price that was $ 175.00 cheaper than two other businesses I checked. The generator was ordered and delivered exactly on time. I appreciated their no-nonsense, professional manner, which means they listened to what I wanted and made it happen.

We searched several home improvement stores and lawn mower specialty stores for our new lawn mower and then we went to Belmont. It is a little off the beaten path in Newington, but well worth the trip.(they also deliver mowers) General Manager Robb Hill and staff know the products they sell. Belmont has a clean well organized showroom, and their prices are hard to beat. Belmont not only spent the time with us to make sure we ended up with the best mower for us, but also went into detail about the best ways to keep our new mower running for a longtime.(Something that is not the usual case at the big box stores) I cannot say enough about the high level of service we received. Rob and his staff are just a nice group of guys to work with.
